That intro clip was literally several fetishes at once. Baby, Furry, Egg, Pain, Feet. And yet, at the same time, Wholesome Christian content fr Butch Hartman.
If that intro clip is a good representation of what this show has to offer, I'm pretty sure Butch Hartman only *thought* he was trying to do a spy show, but was actually trying to do 'Totally Spies' instead. This seems like it's either Catdog+the X's or Catdog+Totally Spies (depending on how indicative that intro clip was) written by Butch Hartman.
I only remember two episodes: One where the dog was afraid of thunder, and one where the dog’s stupidity was portrayed by showing EXACTLY how my adhd/neurodivergent brain works. The former was dumb and the latter just insulted me. My intelligence is something I pride myself in, so seeing part of how I think portrayed as stupidity and nothing more was just fucking awful. For anyone curious, the “stupidity” was the inability to clear his mind by having A remind him of B, then B remind him of C, etc.
I feel you, man. Way too many „idiot“ cartoon characters show traits of serious disabilities(other than ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia are common classics here because „Hurrdurr, cartoon idiot can’t read or count to three. Laugh, goddammit!“) or sometimes are supposed to be seen as stupid just for not acting the way people expect them to. (Which happens a lot in crappy reboots: While the character had good reasons to act in ways that aren’t easily understood in the original version, the reboot just removes all that context for the sake of making them a one-note cartoon idiot for the sake of comedy.) It just leads to people who show these traits in real life being stigmatized even more than they already are, especially since children are the target audience of these shows and the first ones to come into contact with the idea of „cartoon idiots“. They’ll end up thinking „Oh, Jimmy is the only one in our class who can’t read yet. Guess he‘s just stupid then.“ rather than „Oh, Jimmy is the only one in our class who can’t read yet. Why is that? What exactly is he struggling with? Can I help him out somehow?“
@@rainpooper7088 yeah if I wanted an animal themed spy show I'd rather have Penfold from Danger Mouse than the dog character from Tuff Puppy as the sidekick. Sure Penfold my not be quite as bright as other door sidekicks but his stupidity was in not so stupid means.

If there’s one episode I don’t feel comfortable with, it’s Till Doom Do Us Part. I was fine with Dudley and Kitty not being in a relationship, but they acted much more mean-spirited and selfish towards each other than normal, and it made it uncomfortable to sit through. And the show has established that these are best friends who enjoy being together. And what’s worse, the show could have finally answered the question of what Eric was really: was he a threat or hero? But no development that would have pushed the show and made it interesting, and make us care for the characters! Here’s an idea: replace Kitty Katswell, a girl who’s instrumental in Dudley’s character development and replace her with a dumb blond that barely has any impact on Dudley as a character, and forces him to grow in a significant way, I.e. Daisy! With no visible development or smooth introduction at all! That immediately stops people from shipping Dudley with Kitty, and satisfies our large KUDLEY fan base! Smh...😓 To reiterate, I didn’t want Kitty and Dudley to be married, necessarily, but I didn’t want an episode forcing them to be kiss against their wills. It’s hurtful for the characters, and the audience who wanted these characters to be together in the first place. At least, in my eyes. What I wanted was an episode where maybe, we could explore why Dudley is so attached to Kitty like he is and come to terms with his feelings, why he always comes to her rescue despite ruining her life, and him willing to make an effort to better himself so Kitty would appreciate him more. But, what do I know? Butch Hartman HATES criticism, after all, and I’m in no way a content creator, so who am I to express how I feel?
When I originally saw trailers of the show coming to Nick, I was pretty interested to see what the show was about. Sure it's cliche from the premise and characters and writing, but something about Tuff Puppy just felt charming to me, maybe because I'm a dog lover myself and have a fascination of animals in media like Star Fox and Sonic the Hedgehog.
3:32 Yeah but the problem with this is that Tuff puppy actually made me laugh with its jokes unlike this one. I honestly think you're being a bit too harsh on this show. I dont like Butch Hartman 's creative style but the show did have charm to it.
This show proved two things to me: 1. Playing a funny character does not translate well to other shows. 2. Horny people will prop up anything that has catgirls.
The part where Mr. Enter just played the CatDog theme song over TUFF Puppy clips reminds me of this video I've watched that just plays the South Park theme song over Ed, Edd n' Eddy clips.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found this to be completely forgettable. I couldn't even sum up a single episode of the show, even if I wanted to. I just remember that it was a thing, and that's it.
Here's a fun fact, Snaptrap was voiced by the same guy who voiced Sparky! Considering his resume, can't say I'm surprised he hasn't gained the same fame in the VA industry as Tom Kenny or Jim Cummings or Grey DeLise XD
Well the Penguins don't just "think" that they're spies. Aside from communicating with at least one global operative in several episodes and taking down a notorious supervillain, there is a long running secret about Skipper and a diplomatic incident that made him wanted in Norway.
I'll say it again: I only know this show exists due to porn of the cat character. I have not seen a single episode or any hint of what this thing is outside of that. Tis is even the first time I'm hearing any of the characters' voices.
I remember watching a few episodes, nothing special but I did like that thing Sedgewick. Mainly because they never revealed what he actually was. He had gills in one episode, and a tail in another, and I think he could stick to walls like a lizard, and webbed feet. If I had to guess I would say he did some kind of horrible experiment on himself to become a fish, dog, lizard hybrid. Then again, if I actually knew what happened to him to turn him into that he probably wouldn't be as fun.
To be fair, I saw some episodes of KND in the early 2010s, although it wasn't a show I was really interested in. Cartoon Network occasionally showed reruns of it, and it might've aired on Boomerang too.
EpicJake35 Yeah. It’s like learning about WWII and finding Adolf Hitler very interesting to learn about yet you are in no way a nazi. Totally understand what you’re going for.

Kitty was a big crush for me since this show came out in my teen years. Grey's voice work helped as well.
"Yay! We get to evacuate again!"
Literally the only thing I remember from this show.
I remember the villains being the most memorable part; I loved Snaptrap and the Chameleon.
I'll say it again: Dudley should have been a cat parody of Dirty Harry
Who's dirty harry?

I loved this show, and for the reasons you listed I know why. T.U.F.F Puppy was my very first encounter with those cliches, and to this day I still enjoy the show
Me, too!
The only good cartoon on nickelodeon in the 2010s
Tuff puppy didn't have anything different
“Damn you CatDog!!!”
I got a good laugh out of that one. Thanks Enter LOL
If I was to choose between this and 'Pet Squad', I would pick TUFF Puppy in a heartbeat.
And I'm not just saying that because Kitty Katswell is one of my waifus.
Pet Squad?
That intro clip was literally several fetishes at once. Baby, Furry, Egg, Pain, Feet.
And yet, at the same time, Wholesome Christian content fr Butch Hartman.
4:41 "I will hear no argument against the fact that Butch Hartman is legally deaf." Fittingly enough, neither will he.
(Which happens a lot in crappy reboots: While the character had good reasons to act in ways that aren’t easily understood in the original version, the reboot just removes all that context for the sake of making them a one-note cartoon idiot for the sake of comedy.)
It just leads to people who show these traits in real life being stigmatized even more than they already are, especially since children are the target audience of these shows and the first ones to come into contact with the idea of „cartoon idiots“.
Sure Penfold my not be quite as bright as other door sidekicks but his stupidity was in not so stupid means.
i remmeber the episode where, the bird villain wated to go to an alternate unvierse, but apparently in doping so would destroy the uiverse he came from/the unviese theshw it takes places
Smh...😓
To reiterate, I didn’t want Kitty and Dudley to be married, necessarily, but I didn’t want an episode forcing them to be kiss against their wills.
This one for me was one of those shows to leave the TV on until a good show started
Unpopular Opinion: I love this show and I don't know why!
I agree
I didn't love it, but I liked it
@@EssexAggiegrad2011 Same

I'd thought T.U.F.F. Puppy was the Funnest Butch Hartman Nickelodeon Cartoon Ever made

It was my childhood in the 2010s back when television didn't suck
Never watch future cartoons they don't have the proper cliche
Well it was better than Bunsen Is A Beast
NixxGen95 for sure
I mean, that ain't really saying much though...
M S I never watched budsen, but this is too good for comparison.
I couldn't agree more.
To be honest I had the hots for Kitty when this show aired
And Mrs. Katswell for some.
I never got into T.U.F.F Puppy when it still aired on Nicktoons. There wasn't anything appealing about it.
We are getting my childhood and it’s so weird seeing these after all these years
I was expecting you to say your thoughts on Jerry Trainer.
“It’s cliche, therefore not worth talking about.”
This review in a nutshell.
Oh, hey! Fancy seeing you outside of dA. What's up?
You can still make it interesting despite being cliche as long the execution is great or at least passable
Not much. Gonna be seeing Frozen 2 today, so that’ll be fun.

Good god that first clip. Just a perfect resemblance of how horrible the art community for this show is.
Lol
I'm fairly certain the most notable thing about this show is how many people are into the cat.
Remember the Brandy Bunch spoof Tuff and Doom ?
I remember that.
This outro (5:03) sounds awesome, which song is it?
3:32
Yeah but the problem with this is that Tuff puppy actually made me laugh with its jokes unlike this one.
I honestly think you're being a bit too harsh on this show. I dont like Butch Hartman 's creative style but the show did have charm to it.
Yeah, I think he is being too harsh here.
Bunsen can burn, though
You'd be better off watching Danger Mouse. Its a better show.
I can see the headlines: Animation reviewer Mr Enter claims Butch Hartman is legaly deaf.
Butch Hartman responds by saying: "What?"
this was the Cleveland Show to the Fairly Odd Parents Family guy, it felt a bit more leveled to me. thats why its in the top 10
Never thought of it that way
I guess Danny Phantom is to American Dad.
@@nickbanks7954 yep, just like American dad it has the better characters and storylines
While most of the jokes have been done before, I’ll admit “what is a keswick” was pretty funny.
Honestly I really like this show, does it have substance? No. Was it fun and entertaining? Yes.
Why the intro had more action and stuff than the show.itself?
What was the song during the patreon credits? I really liked it.
3:43 his tail is under his butt?... I dont think the animators know where a tail goes...
I'm disappointed that there wasn't a crossover with Fairly Oddparents.
Fairly OddParents had three crossovers with Jimmy Neutron (which were great), and Butch didn't even make Jimmy Neutron
When I saw that clip of Bunsen and Cosmo, I was just sitting there saying “BUTCH, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU”
Alot just alot.....
This show proved two things to me:
1. Playing a funny character does not translate well to other shows.
2. Horny people will prop up anything that has catgirls.
At least the theme song was bangin'.
I mean, it's alright I suppose.
Oh, yeah. That's definitely a plus.
Still not as good as the Penguins of Madagascar theme tho.
I sing the lyrics to it to Armored Armadillo's theme.
Because I can.
Remember Oaxis?
Yeah me too
Edit: can’t wait for the next review
Can't wait for his review of Bunsen Is A Beast just to mention Oaxis.
Damn: How long ago was that, even?
where do they transmit it?
The part where Mr. Enter just played the CatDog theme song over TUFF Puppy clips reminds me of this video I've watched that just plays the South Park theme song over Ed, Edd n' Eddy clips.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found this to be completely forgettable. I couldn't even sum up a single episode of the show, even if I wanted to. I just remember that it was a thing, and that's it.
Wait, she's a cat? I thought she was a squirrel with a stylistically different tail.
Her name is “Kitty Katswell”...
There was an episode where Dudley mistook her for a squirrel, so you're not alone there.
Me: *Reads description.
I liked it, it isn't the best show, but it's good.
Here's a fun fact, Snaptrap was voiced by the same guy who voiced Sparky! Considering his resume, can't say I'm surprised he hasn't gained the same fame in the VA industry as Tom Kenny or Jim Cummings or Grey DeLise XD
I liked this show. To bad there wasn't enough of it.
Well the Penguins don't just "think" that they're spies. Aside from communicating with at least one global operative in several episodes and taking down a notorious supervillain, there is a long running secret about Skipper and a diplomatic incident that made him wanted in Norway.
I was a lot happier not knowing that Bunsen and Fairly Odd Parents had a crossover episode thank you.
Speaking of those Penguins of Madagascar comparisons...
Jeff Bennett is in this show. He voices Keswick, THE SCIENTIST. HMMM.
Just watching all the scenes, character designs, and that opening...
