I've had my 80 volt, 16" Greenworks for about 5 months now. I love it. Vert very convenient. Starts every time (unlike that Stihl I have). It's quiet and light (unlike my Stihl).
And it was less than $400 on Amazon. I use it for light duty stuff, and pull out the Stihl when I need extra power for bigger trees. Helps to sharpen your chain before each use, also.

I just bought one of these and this video was helpful, informative and encouraging since I'm a novice at this kind of thing.

I bought one of these saws (battery and charger included) a few weeks ago on Amazon for $205! (Amazon 1 day deal) I didn't hesitate to buy it because I bought one of these for my father years ago when they first came out and we have all greatly appreciated the ease of use and the power. I will admit that there are more powerful saws out on the market today compared to when this was first introduced, but for what your getting, this saw is a solid 8.5 out of 10. It should be noted that my father doesn't take care of things very well (lol) and the saw looks like its been to hell and back. But after 4 years now, it still runs flawlessly. (With new chains from time to time of course). I liked this saw so much back then I invested into a 40v Greenworks chainsaw, and that is also a great saw! Nice video.

Thanks for this. It sounds like these are pretty tough and good for the long haul as well as out of the box. Appreciate you sharing that.

I just got the 40 volt 12 inch one, cut up some very thick pine limbs the wind knocked down, some over 8 inches in diameter, wow kinda impressed with how efficient they are, especially when you need a saw without getting it ready every season, I'll trade little bit of speed difference any day

Recently bought one on sale for my off grid property but we still have lot of snow so won't be able to get out there for a while, but can't wait to try it out! Trying to go electric for as many things as I can since power is basically free out there. The 2 ah batteries charge in half an hour and the 4ah charge in about an hour, which is not too bad at all if you have a couple batteries to rotate.

Good video! I've been on the fence deciding between one of these and the DeWalt 60v, I'm leaning towards the Greenworks now!

It's interesting they relocated the bar and chain oil reservoir. My first generation 80v model was replaced under warranty due to the tank splitting.

ive been looking around at electric saws for a little while now and I think i have made my decision with this one. Right now it is 200 bucks on amazon. Christmas present for my uncle, and secretly me too. Gas ones are nice but for what he uses it for, an electric one would just be so much easier.

What i like is i can put it inside my truck and there is no gas smell and when i am ready to us it i just hit the trigger. it can be a pain keeping a gas saw at idle when you need to set it down to move some limbs it seem like i am having to restart it a lot. thanks

thanks for the info! Just got this chainsaw for basically free on amazon (included with batt and charger for less than the separate batt and charger I needed to use with 80V barrow)- makes me wonder if they are discontinuing it/updating it.

Great product review & video. Looking to get this saw myself, and loved your real world workout evaluation. May get the 4.0 battery as a 2nd, I'm in mesquite country. Thanks for your review.

I like it. Just subscribed. Just bought me a an 80420 at amazon. I don't see the 421. I wonder if I should return it and look for the 421 somewhere else. I plan to use the 4amps battery that t comes with the lawn mower

I just ordered this chainsaw. I read on the Greenworks website that you should not use the 4ah or 5ah battery in this chainsaw. Do you know if this is true? and if so, why?

Lol - yeah it does sound worse than it is. The autolevel on the camera brings up the backgroud volume when I’m not talking. Sounds like I’m running a marathon all the time.
