I’ve had smp for nearly 5 years. Faded a bit in the 1st year. But it was to dark in my opinion and the faded look looks in my opinion more natural and subtle. I don’t think it’s really faded at all in the last 3 and a half years to be honest
They kinda go grey and expand, but it still looks fine compared to the skin color the area was before. One thing they didn't mention is that you need to get it topped up every couple of years as it fades rapidly.
it does not really stay for 5 years , it fades maybe after 2 years , and you have to do it again or at least retouch again, i would not advise it to someone who is completly bald ,like the rock for exmp , but maybe if your state is like the guy in the video then it might be great for you , i mad one 4 years ago and its all gone now .
People gotta take into consideration the tedious labor and experience necessary for the procedure costs. It's not a one and done tattoo on a small area of your body. You're paying average $3000 for 3-4 sessions that can take around 2hrs each to complete filling each dot on your scalp to build density and natural pigment patterns. Not as easy as you would think with thousands of hair follicles on your scalp so it's priced accordingly.
Ok, ok, but what happens when they inevitably lose the hair? I understand that it's not permanent, but I would be so nervous about my hair falling out and being left with dots all over my head.
Doesn't look as bad. The rest of your hair will eventually 'mask' it. The thing is, they are anyway pigmenting the parts where there is no follicle to give it an appearance of a follicle. Even i for some reason you shave your head (with a 0.5 trimmer), you'll see your natural hair follicles matching the dots and it looks even. The only issue is when the ink fades out, you'll see the colors looking weird and hence a touch-up becomes inevitable
I actually had one session done on my crown area. I dont regret but 2 years later my hair is quite normal and not thinning anymore. I mustve bee stressing a lot during that time, who knows if how much of a difference it would look then vs now without that one SMP session I had.
Glad to hear there might be hope for me then. I’m 22 and have had the same thin spot on my crown for 2 years now. Hasn’t really progressed looking at the pictures
why? do you know the amount of dots that are done? do your research. Everything implying the tools, such as the ink, classes and practice that he had to go thru. tipically a $1000 is a steal. each class he took was $3,000 not adding up any of the equipment and luxurious space he build for the client comfortability. seshhh.

@@julittok Nah, if you're bald to where you need to cover your whole scalp, you need something else. I'm talking about like if you're thinning in certain areas.
I'm doing this on myself but the ink will not stay. I know I put it in deep enough, then I don't wash my hair and keep my scalp dry for 4 days, but as soon once I shower a few times after "the healing period"(even though I don't get much scabbing at all), the ink just washes/flakes off...and the whole process ends up being a waste of time😟.
If they get close or the light is too strong it looks very bad, it's unnatural to have your scalp full of dots. In a more darker environment it gets the job done. Also if you have lighter hair it is paramount that the person finds the right color or it doesn't look right at all. Finally if you shave your head, that's when this technique really shines.

2500 to 6000 wth are u guys thinking. Its freaking tattoo not even a great tattoo cost that much and u wanna charge me for dots. This is why people run away from these things!!
How is this $2500-6000 when you can get you hair back through transplants from the back and sides for $5000 and you can probably find cheaper than that, this is one of the biggest ripoffs I've seen
$2.5 to 6K for dotting the spots? No thanks. Buy yourself hair fiber instead if you have tiny bald spot. Such a rip off. Services from healthcare to beauty in US is clearly ripping off customers. Glad that I don't use any beauty service except body hair removal laser.
I think the issue is that many people after 5-10 years might be going completely bald so there might be concern as other pointed out that if you’ve gone completely and totally bald, permanent dots would love very odd potentially
its because tattoo ink doesn't work the same. it was me running my mouth without knowing any facts. you can dang near do this on yourself or if you know someone that is artistic. its not hard just time consuming. what i find crazy is charging people 6k when you can get a full body tattoo for that. it should be like $150 an hour. only takes them 2 hours to do your head..still a scam and ripping people off. and some how you have to have a special class and a doctor has to be in the building where you do this. But Joe blow can give you a tattoo..i dont understand that logic at all@@brittniep9219

Does this create scar tissue in the scalp and thus potentially making a hair transplant less efficient since graft survival is harder in scar tissue?
No unless you are going 2mm deep frequently

Does SMP have any negative effects on existing hair
No, if anything it encourages growth as it heals as more blood is flowing into your head since the dots are considered a wound.

Putting dots under hair for density instead of strokes seems nonsensical to me.

Ok. So. The bad part is when you go bald you will have black dots contrasting your light skin. That is the unforseen negative result for most.
