Hi Mal. I still like my little Deadbolt a lot but I do want a newer small scale RC. I've been very tempted by the green Axial SCX24 Power Wagon with all its included upgrades and hard body. But now I'm leaning towards a TRX4M Bronco instead because I think I'd prefer to spend my money on something different instead of another SCX24.
Nice upgrades never noticed how bad those were, i gave mine to my grandson, I'll probably upgrade it for him 🙏✝️☮️ I'll say even stock they've always been pretty decent crawler
Hi Lou. Thank you my friend. It's much better than the Chevy version I had. The front wheels on that had dreadful body rub and even stopped it from moving when it was at full lock. I sold it and bought this Deadbolt which I'm very happy with.
I think as far as this rig is concerned the Bras REALLY helped out. But after seeing how sift those links were. WOW. I can see how replacing them was a no-brainer. Specially at that price. It was really attacking those angles at the end there. Well Done Derek. :)
This is fun! Those new links just look...cool, with that finish on them, and there's no denying that they afford the vehicle excellent ground clearance. If that bit of wood had happened to have a rougher texture I reckon the Deadbolt would have effortlessly cruised up there...
@@hollyhillrc Yes, that's true. If I climb my WPL C34 and my MN Models MN45 up steeper and steeper slopes, despite having wheel weights, the C34's always the first to do that. Can't quite work out why, unless it's the weight of the roof.
Blimey, I never realised or noticed how bendy those parts are lol. I like that little adjustable test piece that you have designed and made. Very good idea with the triangle piece of wood to alter the angle. You might be able to get an app for your phone that can be used to measure angles Derek, depending how old you mobile phone is lol. I agree, the stock tyres did seem to do quite well. Cool video matey 👍
Hi Tibs. To be fair the plastic links haven't been a problem but I thought it would be nice to treat the Deadbolt to some metal ones as they were only £7 in the sale. I didn't think about an app for measuring the angels. Thanks mate.
Great upgrades for a better perfprmance. And a cool demonstration of steering linkage. This is a piece definitively to replace.
Thank you very much Dirk.
I have only done the hexes with my Deadbolt but not my favourite little crawler. Those links were super cheap.

Thank you very much Nick. This was an enjoyable video to make.

Hi Del. Thank you very much. I agree, and it was encouraging that it didn't want to topple backwards on the last angle.

Hi Dom. Good choice my friend. I personally think it's still the best SCX24 🙂👍🏼
@@hollyhillrc have u tried the power wagon? i’m really impressed with it
@@rc-dom-uk I was very tempted to get one but I decided to get aTRX4M Bronco instead because I fancied a different chassis. I love it.

Thank you very much 🙂
