@lordbiffington Don't presume it's sarcastic if their name isn't English. The perception of sarcasm and sincerity between our language and theirs is beyond comprehension for non-speakers! ;3
Kojima has a gift for cinematics. I don't know if he directed the cutscenes, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a hand in it. The same goes for every MGS game.
The Isaiahnator he directed ALL the cutscenes as he’s the main director for all the main line games. He keeps improving for each game and ground zeroes opening level is one of the best cutscene in the series and it’s easily compares to the best of movies today.
Kojima's in-game cinematography is probably the best in the industry. I see so many high budget games with extremely flat, bland cinematography, especially in their in-engine cutscenes. Pre-rendered stuff tends to look better since it's often done by third party specialists. Whether you find the massive exposition dumps fun or not, every cinematic sequence in every metal gear game is far ahead of its contemporaries in terms of camerawork, when it could have just been a boring 'shot, reverse shot' style over and over.
Anybody curious about this 1:07 At the beginning of the game the Colenel asks Raiden how the suit feels, and Raiden responds that it's very tight. The Colenol explains that it may be uncomfortable, but the system of compression will reduce injury severity and hemmhorage. So, Vamp can't really make out Raiden's subtle muscle tenses because the suit prevents him from seeing them
Lee Anderson nope, he has nano tech that you deactivate in mgs4 to finally kill him. If you play mgs5, you will hear soldiers talking about how there is no such thing as monsters and psychics, only cutting edge tech. Ocelot says around the same thing at the end of mgs4. Everything in the mgs universe is tech based
Jason Morris you mean everything in MGS is poorly explained as "cuz nano machines" lol. I love Metal Gear Solid, but that was kind of a huge cop out. At least they kept some of the Supernatural elements in there.
Jason Morris You're actually talking about a quote from MGS2 where Ocelot claims theres no such thing a psychics or the paranormal, just cutting edge technology to Fortune and everyone else on top of Arsenal. Quickly followed by her diverting missiles without the tech turned on soooo...Theres still plenty of paranormal going on in Metal Gear, just alot of it is explained away with nanotechnology or in the case of V the parasite/virus stuff.
And to think that Vamp was originally suppose to be a woman. Eh, I guess the only difference would be the character having boobs since I don't think Vamp would act any different from how he acts in the entire game. I would surely be aroused tho :P
I always use the M4 on him. If you hold down the lock on button you'll never land a shot but if you lock on to him and then let go you will. Also if you manage to him dead on either of his bullet wounds you'll deal a good bit more damage, but it's hard to nail it
rockys201 This boss is a *joke* if you still have Stinger ammo left (and considering that this fight comes so soon after the Harrier boss where "Pliskin" constantly throws down rockets, you should have plenty). The Stinger will automatically lock onto Vamp's knife, meaning that the shots will home in on him regardless of how much he jumps around.
Billy Raymond Well no actually it's not always that simple, he can still jump around and avoid your rockets. But one thing you can't do with rockets and that's hit him precisely where his previous bullet wounds from earlier are and does the maximum amount of damage to him. Also with the M4 you can escape his knives a bit easier seeing as you're not stuck in one spot to fire always.
This boss fight is really difficult but really amazing, in the PC version you can use 5.1 surround (or virtual Surround) and it really works well, you can actually track where vamp is with your hearing.
You can do it on the PS2 version as well we had a home theater when me and my ex-wife were still married you just plug the red and white cables into the home theater and of course the yellow into your TV.
I dunno I thought it was really easy. Olga was difficult coz I had a though time getting used to 1st person shooting. Tbh, in comparison to the first game, no boss in this game was very difficult.
The Vamp fight is good because of how he is constantly putting pressure on you and getting in your face and close range combat is the hardest part of Metal Gear Solid.
i just played the game recently, but a very very cheap way to win the fight is to immediately hang on the edges of the arena it will force him to walk slowly towards you, you are immune to all slashes and knives while on the ledge, and when you get up from the ledge he goes immediately for a swim, exposing himself in a dance move when he comes up.
@@jackson2531 If you listen very carefully when you first meet Vamp in the big shell he almost blows Snake's cover when he says he's JG Pliskin "Strange smell, you smell like sss. Are you, it has to be!"
I don't understand why he didn't do the flip and hang off the back of the railing. That's what we used to do to defeat him. You hang off the railing, then when he comes up, you nail him and hide again.
Snake does similar screaming in MGS3 and 4 if you are using a machine gun during a boss fight or on the motorcycle riding sections where you have unlimited ammo
This mission was SUCH A BITCH TO GET THRU!!!!! After spending 2 FUCKIN DAYS trying to beat it and dying thousands of times trying all these methods. For me personally, they'res only one way to beat him, ONLY shoot him while he's underwater. Regardless of what wepon you use, you're almost guarenteed to nail every shot. When he pops up and walks around, just run in the opposite direction. Do that until he goes back in the water. As far as him throwing thse daggers at you, he'll ALWAYS throw them in a clockwise direction. When he does this, to avoid getting hit, run in a counterclockwise direction (opposite of where he's throwing). If you try shooting him while he's walking around or running with his dagger, you'll fail big time! In addition to him walking around, do NOT shoot him while he's doing that. He'll do it for about 30 seconds before he goes back in the water again. YOU HAVE to take your time with this mission. Do not rush it
I'm going to try this method. I finished this fame years ago when it originally came out but since buying it for £7 with MGS3 I can't get past this dude.
Will do. Beer and painkillers (toothache, not recreational) may affect my progress though. I can see it working but he does spend less time in the water the more you damage him, and as for those stupid flares he uses which freeze you, could be an entire night spent on one level.
Easy as hell, equip the nikita, hang and wait, when he comes close pull up and hit him with the melee with the nikita equiped. When he swims throw grenades or missiles on the water. Shooting the lights also stops him from pinning your shadow.
Naomi said he was enhanced. He was already near immortal, he could just take a lot more. Ie when shit in the head in mgs2, he immediately got knocked out, whereas in mgs 4 he could still talk for about a minute. Then when you pump him full of tranqs or bullets in mgs 4, he gets up nearly immediately unlike in mgs 2 where he disappears for a bit, shows up to kill Emma then fucks off until the final cutscene. Also his wackass movement, ability to dodge bullets and skill with knives can’t be explained by nano machines that’s for sure.
I thought this fight was fun though I had no clue what I was doing a good portion of the time. Here’s a tip though, if you have claymores, lay them out because they’ll do some easy damage as Vamp’s walking around the platform
