So basically big battery + adaptive refresh rate = long battery life.
Edit : People, I know that that's NOT the main reason a phone is power efficient, it's just if 2 phones have EXACTLY equal specs, but one has an adaptive refresh rate and the second one doesn't , the first one will win

@@mehshutup3041 Exactly brother, when I purchased my note 20 ultra, I'm from India, so the Exynos variant is what I got. At first, the over heating issues and battery drain issues were so bad, that I got an average screen on time of about 3hours 45 minutes.
Now after several updates, battery life has significantly improved , heating is not at all an issue right now, and SoT is like almost 6 hours of continuous use.
I'm pretty sure that samsung can do much better and the Exynos chip isn't only the one to blame. I'm playing games and stuff, sincerely brother, after all these updates, the phone is now perfect.
Samsung needs to work more on their software optimization for performance and battery.

@@WardedPredator The same thing happens with the Samsung devices silly. The "show refresh rate" option does NOT WORK with LTPO panels correctly. That's why the samsungs NEVER say they're going below 60hz even though they're obviously going down to 30 or 10hz and such which is confirmed by anandtech through mods and measurements.
The oppo find x3 pro also gets TERRIBLE battery life and it has LTPO, mi 11 is ALSO underwhelming and that has LTPO. Only samsung has implemented it correctly which makes sense since they invented it

  • @andyH_England

The tests on the S21U now kills the myth and complaints about it not being fair to run these tests on QHD! This test shows that it did better on QHD than FHD+! There are other tests that show this so no more whining in the comment section that these are unfair! It also shows that there was only a 45 mins difference having 60Hz over dynamic 120Hz so again it shows that the difference is not substantial due to the display being able to power down to 60Hz or less. Compare this to the s20U where having fixed 120Hz made a 2h+ difference!
The Mi 11 awaits the MiUI 12.5 update that should fix the battery drain. The SD S21U is as expected better than the Find X3 and OP9P as the Samsung has been out a few months and is better optimized. All three give solid battery life ATM with those high settings.

The battery life has been very disappointing for me and the phone doesn't last all day long with my usage. I've been trying various battery saving tips, but I'm not sure it's going to make any difference.

Mi 11 and ultra will lose because
    1) Not latest software
    2) No adaptive fps
    3) Less throttling
    4) Highest brightness on ultra.
But even after so many disadvantages ultra does quite well.
As of now S21 ultra is best Android overall followed by ultra which may change after the new update on later.
