  • Jeff here, and welcome to my world, Mr. JD's World.
This video shows in detail the crossing of the International Bridge 1 from Eagle Pass, TX to Piedras Negras, Mexico. The return crossing is in real time and will show that it does take a few minutes longer but it is so easy and trouble free. Once across I walk around a little and have the most expensive tacos of my life. The shops are typical Mexican crafts, well stocked and very clean.
This is by far the safest and easiest crossing to Mexico here in Texas. The stats speak for themselves so look them up.

I may publish a revision of this video to cut out the town tour so that you can focus only upon the actual crossing of the border. I'll know based upon comments and view time.
    Enjoy!
Join me and have a good time in the kitchen, around the house, out and about, and on the road.
I've changed from a Nomadic RV life living and working in a National Park to a stationary home in a historic cavalry fort in Texas. I'm retired with a bank of projects to do and a "some day" list that needs addressing.
Some of my videos are a bit "tongue in cheek" and some are boring as all get out. Most are a light hearted attempt to entertain and remind us that life is too short not to laugh a bit, even if we just laugh at ourselves. Nuances can go in any direction. Relax, observe , and just for once, try to enjoy.
I create and post my videos as a journal of my life. A journal I manage so family and friends can witness some of my days and times. I hope to have fun, learn something and share a bit, too.
TH-cam is not a job and I'll not let it become one.
I hope you enjoy this video along with the other videos on my channel. And if you do, don't hesitate to like, comment, share, and subscribe.
    Please Enjoy!

Hi JD. I noticed you mentioned some concrete barriers set aside with roll wires (reference time on the video,47:36) These barriers are in case of a need to close the bridge at mid-mid-point for any emergency to prevent anyone from entering Eagle Pass. This goes back over 9 years when Piedras Negras was not as safe as it is today. They are getting Rusty and old now. Not related to the wires in the middle of the river by the State of Texas.

Thank u Jeff, that was very interesting👍🏼
Haven’t been across there in years-looks much safer and clean than I had imagined.

It's a wonderful crossing. It's statistically the safest area. And the people are so very friendly.

I have no idea. I simply walked over, around, and back. Traffic was bumper to bumper and backed up for blocks on the Mexico side.

This was an interesting experience. But thank goodness I don't have to go there :) BTW, I think the barbed wire was waiting to be deployed to close the bridge.

Interesting trip. I don’t think it costs that much at a Mexican restaurant in NC. Hope they were really good tacos and margaritas.

I will say the tacos were interesting. Certainly never worth those prices. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Would you recommend paying with pesos? Or did most places accept US currency?

American dollars are perfectly fine. Just know the conversion rate and use a calculator so you know what you're paying.

Your change is going to be in pesos.

About how much do you have to walk into mexico to catch a taxi?

    • @MrJDsWorld
      @MrJDsWorld  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for asking. I didn't take a taxi because the moment you step through the border gate on the Mexican side you are in town. I found that walking around was extremely easy to get around. There is another video of me walking through the neighborhoods. I'm sure you would have no problem getting a Taxi but the automobile traffic was grid locked returning to Texas so walking was much faster.

@@greeneking77 I actually did not post a second video. I had intended to split this one into two.
