Very underrated movie. Del Toro's performance was beyond brilliant.
He was terrifying in this role.
Such a great thrilling movie. I personally loved it. I think that is was some of Josh Hutchersons best work. His acting was amazing this movie deserves more praise than it got.
I´m colombian and for those who don't know, this happened in the 80's-90's. The Colombia showed in the movie is not the same as the current Colombia, we are doing a big effort trying to change that. We are not proud of cocaine, violence or Pablo Esocbar, he killed lots of innocent people by planting bombs in the cities.
Now, about the movie: as always, a lot of things are wrong, but principally the accent and the looks of Pablo. At least I saw the shield of colombian police (the real, and right one) but they should have hire the colombian actor that played Pablo, he is really good, but as always, it's hollywood.
However, I´m exited to see Josh acting. I love him.

Por otra parte estuve buscando documentos oficiales en inglés sobre el tratado de libre comercio entre Estados Unidos y Colombia, y los documentos dicen claramente ColOmbia. Sin embargo, seguiré en la busqueda de aquella lengua en dónde se utilice la U en el medio, o si me puedes facilitar las cosas y decirme en cuál lengua cambia. Estoy así de interesada porque estudio lenguas para su enseñanza por lo que tengo que saber bien fenómenos y estructuras.

Hutcherson looks alright, needed a more diverse role than the bloke in the Hunger Games- this maybe it. Although he does always look confused when he is in films...Del Toro is probably one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood- and he’s still considered as one of the best. He’ll kill it- I’ve been waiting a long time to see him as Escobar.

If you want to see a very accurate picture of Pablo Escobar's life then you really should watch Escobar, El patrón del mal. It's on Netflix and it shits on Narcos. Some of the names were change but if you know most about Escobar then you know exactly who the people are playing. Every character looks spot on like the real person seriously. It's 70 something episodes and you will be reading a lot of subtitles lol but it's worth it. And the show is funny as hell. It shows they were just like any other group of friends joking around at times. And this is probably the only representation of Escobar that actually shows the relationship with him and Griselda Blanco. This show shows everybody that was around and not just certain characters. EVERYBODY!

Very well done, it’s a fictional tale about a real character.
I would say watch it and see every scene. A true masterpiece and it shows how a man is loved by so many but in reality, he’s a monster.
These are the best trailers. Trailer like this one givs you the story so you know what you're getting yourself into, but it doesn't tell you so much that you feel like you already watched the movie. It leaves a bit of mystery for you to uncover.

This movie (while very entertaining) went so much against the real history they should not have dared use the name "Pablo Escobar."

Yay! Josh Hutchersons Manager and Agent are finally getting him good gigs! This looks severely interesting and also shows another side of Josh Hutcherson's versatility that I was questionable about. His most recent movie with Mocking Jay: Part 1 was a big step towards what he is capable of but I think he could do so much more. This trailer makes me think this could be the movie he does it with. Congrats. Can't wait to see it

I seriously hate that people were so negatively biased to this movie. Just because it didn't establish Pablo to be as dominant as he was in real life doesn't mean the movie should be rated lower. This movie was very good, yet everyone critiques it because it doesn't stay true to the Escobar story. This bias is what limits movies now. Everyone wants something new and when we finally get it everyone takes offense and bashes it. We have plenty of stories telling the complete Escobar story, how about you allow people to show different views

What's the point of this? I mean, Colombia already knows what happened back in the day, and the rest of the world don't really care about it. This is just another movie downgrading my country. We certainly won't deny what happened with Pablo Escobar and cocaine but keep repeating the same story over and over again won't let Colombia and the rest of the world overcome what happened, it'll just make people think Colombia is a place full of murderers, drug dealers and bad people which is bullshit. Besides, the way they show Medellín makes me sick, a little poor town in the middle of a jungle(?). Anyway, I've traveled my country enough to say is beautiful and its people are warm and kind to everyone. Colombia it's a hidden treasure in the middle of a bunch of lies that Hollywood loves to spread all over the globe. Only the ones that have come to Colombia are able to say what's REALLY like to be here.

WELL THIS COMPLETELY BLOWS...I thought this was a trailer for a film adaptation of John Milton's PARADISE LOST, which would have been awesomely EPIC!!! This just looks like a run of the mill action / drug lord movie about Pablo Escobar, which too many people already know way too much about that inglorious drug thug anyway. C'mon Hollywood give us a real stroy. Somthing of substance. Paradise Lost is an excellent story that needs to be brought to a new generation becuase I highly doubt many of the millennial generation know of or even have tried to read John Milton's near flawless tale of true poetry and great literature. It has everything and more a great story needs, moral and ethical questions of the true nature of good vs evil, mankind's part in the understanding of the innate emotions of justice and peace that lie embedded in our subconscious and the struggle we face everyday to justify said emotions. It is truly a classic tale of our kind trying to understanding the nature of what we call good and evil. Religion aside, because I am not a religious person, it is just a great story with disgustingly well written characters and thought provoking prose. This just looks dumb, and it has that darling Josh Hutchinson, need I say more, please. Jeez.

I'm pretty sure Escobar had bigger problems than his niece's boyfriend. This shit was ridiculous, it clearly wasn't about his life cause it didn't show him dying etc. it was more about the whiteboy's love story, of which the credibility is also debatable knowing how Hollywood rolls. They brought hundres of cops and soldiers just to find one guy? That scene was ridiculous. Then Pablo answers the phone like he's been beaten by the whiteboy.. that's Hollywood for ya. it's like a cross between the Last Samurai and Inglorious Bastards where this irrelevant nobody cripples the supervillain at the end. f*cking nerds wrote this script, just like the over the top ending in Inglorious bastards never happened. only to please the audience looking for revenge...
Canadian born in Colombia here. Just want to ask, when was the last time that a movie came out about Colombia that didn't mention drugs? Or the last character that was "Colombian" that wasn't a drug dealer/poor peasant farmer? People say "oh it's just a movie" but it actually does have a negative impact. A ton of people bring up the drug lord stereotype when I tell them I'm from Colombia. The same goes, I'm sure, for other people with stereotypes in their nationality that are constantly brought up. People laugh when they say it but it's not funny. Maybe they don't mean to be hurtful but the very fact that these stereotypes are the first thing that come to mind when someone says "Colombia" is hurtful. Now to be honest, I don't mind so much that these movies exists, it is after all based on a real event, but the problem is that there aren't many others that showcase good things that have happened in the country to balance out the negativity.
