Last season, I started picking up snowboarding again after a decade of being away. McCoy Park is truly something special for beginners. I will be taking family that wants to try skiing to Beaver Creek first.
lol I remember the first time I found the creek in the woods off bachelor! There’s a spot with a natural downslope and kicker that you can use to jump over, it makes the crossing much less sketchy.
Royal elk used to be 2 separate runs, royal elk and black bear glade. Black bear’s entrance is off of Bald Eagle and the road, but it can be accessed through the Royal Elk entrance. It isn’t on maps anymore and the old entrance is usually roped. It from my experience is more difficult than the upper stone creek chutes. I haven’t gone this year but the most recent time I went the signage on Grouse was still somewhat outdated
Thank you for correcting yourself on this video. You were too much of a hater's guide on your previous one! Well done on this!
Finally, a Beaver Creek insider's guide with your voice lol
I had a broken jaw, couldn't record the ogs 😂
Going to BC and Vail for the first time this Feb and will be test-driving my new sticks - 4FRNT MSP99's
Loved BC. Thanks for the recommendation as a beginner.
Great Video, Keep up the Great Content

I plan to actually go here or to snowmass in mid-late January 2025. I love this resort and hopefully I can have a good time here
My favorite of the i-70 resorts.
I want to try Ptarmigan and Raven Ridge, but I haven't yet because I can't see them very well from the bottom, and there's no easy way down to bail out of. I can handle Paintbrush ok, and last year I did Cataract, although it got steep for me at the bottom with the moguls. Do you think I can handle the Grouse runs?
Check the grooming report beforehand to see if Raven Ridge and/or Ptarmigan is groomed. For their pitch, think that bottom part of Cataract, but about three times the length. I would recommend Ripsaw first. If that goes alright, then you could try Grouse. What's good about Ripsaw is it's super wide, so if you get into a bad spot, you can go edge to edge to get down it alright.
@@SRGSkiing OK, that sounds like a lot for me right now. I'll try Ripsaw and some of the other shorter mogul runs on the frontside. Thanks!
Awesome
To go there from here in Britain is expensive, so if I ever do it it'll be a one and done, maybe it'll be in 2028 or 29.
Can you do steamboat please?
Currently scheduled for 21 February (subject to change, of course)
@@SRGSkiing Okay thanks, I have a trip planned there this season
Osprey.
Old intro lol
Had to be!
