Olateju one of the Ilorin commanders was captured at Osogbo war, while Ajikobi was sent to your Oyo for his case to be heard by Alaafin being from royal family. He was executed at Oyo.Olateju was executed at Ibadan
Very enlightening,Please Dele we will like Baba to give us Egba /Abeokuta history like this. And Baba didn’t complete the story on how Atiba escaped the death of Odunn Bebe abi he died of it ni?
Awujale Aboki. Balogun Onafowokan. This Awujale reigned during the Kiriji war. The Ijebu commander during the Kiriji war was Balogun Onafowokan. Awujale Aboki and Balogun Onafowokan alongside Ibadan warlords, Ogedemgbe of Ilesha , Fabunmi of Oke Imesi and the British signed to end the Kiriji war. (See the Kiriji memorial Cenotaph in Olubadan palace). Balogun Kuku commanded the Ijebu Army in the Anglo Ijebu war.
Sihanbola Ladigbolu ( Siyanbola Onikepe Oladigbolu 1 - from 1911 to 1944) was as popular as Abiodun and Atiba. He was the Alaafin of Oyo when the Northern and Southern protectorates of Nigeria were merged in 1914
Mr. Dele Adeyanju, during future interviews, please refrain from interrupting your guests' train of thought. In your recent interview, you did not allow the guest to fully elaborate on the story of the Alaafin. This significantly detracted from the interview's quality. Your constant jumping between subjects made it difficult to follow. Please structure your interviews more effectively and strive for a more professional, less mediocre approach.
You can pass your message without using words like unprofessional and mediocre, it's sounds like an insult.... Are you a professional journalist or media personality? You look mature in your display picture, so learn to be constructive in your criticism
Hi InvestmentAnalysis421, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I wanted to highlight that Dele is undoubtedly one of the hottest interviewers in the entertainment industry. He continues to learn and gain valuable experience every day, and the quality of his interviews is exceptional compared to others in the field. He deserves credit for that. Regarding your comments on interjections during interviews, it’s important to understand that they serve a purpose. Journalists often interject to gather more facts, verify information, or address any unwarranted insinuations made by guests. This practice does not detract from the quality of Dele’s interviews; rather, it enhances the Agbaletu brand. Wishing you and everyone a wonderful week ahead! Cheers!
@Dele, in case of next time let the baba finish one topic before asking him another one you dont need to be in hurry for this kind of historic topic. You can take a book and jot down any question you want to ask the baba after he has finish one topic, take a look for example baba talk his about Oyo he did not finish it, he talk about ilorin, he talk about ondo, he talk about Ijebu, he talk about Egba, he talk about Tapa he did not finish any to the fullest. In this kind of interview you dont need to rush the person and you also need to pay proper attention and observe so that if the person try to cover or dont want to finish the topic you will be able to ask him to finish it cause of the viewers and people that will learn from it but unfinish topic is many in the interview and it got me opt out along the lines and i hate unfinished job seriously. Yoruba story or topic is what we want presenters like you to be doing and i would rather appreciate it more if all the useless bloggers that fight dirty in public can look for the type of the baba and bring them online for a good and genuine Yoruba topic that will enlighten us more so that we can know more about our culture, kings in yoruba land, deity in yoruba land, festival in yoruba land, wars that our yoruba hero went to etc.
This is a very nice interview from from this Historic Oyo man..but Dele not professional enough, his interruption too much....he doesn't allow the man to get to the roots of one story line before he got interrupted again. Dele, you tried, but limits your interruptions whenever you're on stage. You can write your questions down and later ask
But we know why Adeyemi said he would be the next Alafin. Prince Ladepo would have been the Alafin before Adeyemi. Many chiefs around Oyo supported Adeyemi. Alaafin was an insurance agent in Lagos then, he lived with Alake growing up. I was in high school in Awe them and plus my brother's wife is from Oyo, omo Jabata area.
Good interview. Pls try to send the scope of the questions ahead of time so that the interviewee can research ahead of time any grey areas. Some misconception of the man being interviewed may not be deliberate.

Baba was right to the point of Sango. There is Orisa Sango and Sango the Alaafin are different entities. Sango na name as we recall Alaafin's Sango Mum was a Tapa woman. The 2 Sangos are different. The Araba (Elebuibon) clarified this point.
@@jeylamix6695 Sorry brother I dont want to beg the issue. Alaafin Sango is different from Orisha Shango (Jakuta). Sango is a name. Ajaka was Sango's brother who was also an Alaafin. Please research Araba Elebuibon. Baba Olatunji is an Oyo historian but Sango is a Yoruba Orisha a religious deity.
I think Oyo Katunga is the same as Oyo Ile. No difference. Hugh Clapperton passed through Oyo Katunga in the 19th century and documented his experience there in his journal.

Why is the historian hiding the fact that Oyo was destroyed and Alaafin had to run away and take cover at Ago which he later took over.
Read history well. He entered Ago as a prince. It was collective reformation that made Ago the new oyo. Alaafin Oluewu lost his life in the war
What happened to people in Oyo ile?
You should have allow baba to finish up one story before interrupting with another
Is this baba related to late Alafin or its the marks (my mum's type) that make him look like Alafin.. this baba is talking HISTORY...
I see a close resemblance between him with the late Alaafin, he does not bear Adeyemi in his name, therefore, i am still confused if he is a son to him, Omo Alaafin could also be an appellation. Please can anyone clarify.
He's probably a great grand son to Alafin Atiba according to his ration. One of Atiba's son Adetunji.
@catherinebalogun9067 i mean the person being interviewed.
I am proud to be an Oyo indigene
But baba said oja is Ibariba. Why was he made Ashipa?
