Yoruba Gidi, Please beg this man to straighten things out by writing our history book. He sounds grounded and balanced in his presentation. Our problem has been reading our own history from foreign writers who had their own hidden agenda.

We need to bring this prof of history back, so yoruba has been existing before Christianity and Islam begin as a religion.

I give kudos to this man,but where is he, when the Oyo people are degrading the Ooni as the slave to worship orisa at the palace

Good job Mr. Fashuba, but your guest failed to analyze clearly the relationship between Oyo empire/ kingdom with Yoruba people. He seems he as forgotten that it his only Alaafin of Oyo that has the power to install oba in other parts of Oyo kingdom not Oni Risa of Ife. Yoruba is synonymous to Oyo, that is the reason that Oyo people are the Yoruba

I would feel better about getting our elders involved in telling our history and not base our history on a young professor.
I strongly believe that Ifa is the oracle that our ancestors consulted to speak the final word on who is the Oba.

Divisive historian. Ọọni wears Oduduwa’s crown. The Baba historian himself has told you that the people known as Yorubas today came from a conglomerate of many peoples. Ọyọ was not yet Ọyọ back then when the Baba Oduduwa himself became the first king of the now called Yoruba people. And it is from Oduduwa that every king in Yorubaland started to inherit their crown. Take it from there and do the math yourself.

Gov. Seyi is not at fault and he didn't have the right to give approval to any omo oye without Aafobaje, those five Aafobaje have collected 15m bride each from Gbadegeshin which EFCC has confirmed. So do you want Govt. Seyi to approve such person to the throne? So Mr. Abimbola Owoade is the second to the throne. Govt. Seyi did the right thing...Bashoru Oyo is a thief

Ẹhhh…, many Baṣọruns and Ọyọ Mesis have been thieves for a long time. It is when they họọ́ bó in the Information Age that things start to quickly catch up with them. There are many kickbacks that go unnoticed in those positions…

@Kantz1 Lol.... That's true sha but I think it's bcuz this is a huge one, 15m each opoor😳 lai SE president position. Thank God, govt can now intervene in their corruption through EFCC if it has to be in those days Mr Gbadegeshin would've been approved to the throne by force by those corrupt kingmakers.

Yoruba = Olori oba > Ooriba > ooba > Yooba > Yoruba. Yoruba means Olori-oba

@lekside3748 Research should not only be based on theory alone but in empirical facts. He should give names at least 2. What we have are the:-
      Ibadan- Oyo
      Ibadan-Ife
      Ibadan-Egba
      Ibadan-Owu

I have no issues with the man. He's a scholar like myself, and I respect people like that. He shouldn't forget that there are elders and others who can fault statements and assertions with proves that can call for further research. I'm from Ibadan, and I can say authoritatively that there was no time in history where the Hausa/Fulani were part of the Ibadan warriors. Even Fabunmi of OkeImesi came to learnt from the Ibadan warriors.
