Not sure if someone's told you or just missed maybe missed it, but the non articulated stand can also just be used as a nice way to stand your figure in a more vanilla pose and stabilize it without taking up so much room. I now am so glad they provide this as I now use it more than the old style stand.

Mine is arriving today and I can't believe it's taken THIS long for me to get an IG11 that can ride the bike (I missed out on the Figuarts). I'm pretty sure I will leave mine on the bike riding with Grogu and was very happy it looked great doing so in the vid. The tray, bottle, and cups will also look good in my Cantina display, which IG maybe serving as a waiter when I eventually take him off the bike.
I'm only getting the Hush stuff because it's Lee and iconic looks for the characters, I don't have a lot of attachment to Knightfall. BUT, I'll have to get the upcoming plain Batman and Bane, of course.
Hear's simplified ....ARRGGHHH NOOOOOOoooooooo. Goddamnit Mafex, you've had forever to make this an SHF beater. Lack of neck joint is GAH WTF!! The SHF, size aside, just looks better and neater paint apps (EDIT: in their defense, i just reviewed the footage and 11 does not actually show neck articulation like the SHF , but more like a tiny bit, more in line with the mafex. The eyes seem to do the job of looking up and down on screen, and the mafex has way better leg and hip articulation, and my main goal was having him on the BS Bike. I guess I need to break the paints out though.)
When he's on the speeder there's some tilt down, like when first getting on and looking at Grogu on his chest, and then during the Kuill repair scene. At least that's what I've found just looking through pictures. It just makes posing a bit more dynamic, y'know?
@@TheFwoosh could be I ddint see those scenes. I saw one where he was sitting down and his head did a tiny tilt down. Totally agree it would be better to have than not. What were Mafex thinking??
I got mine yesterday in the mail. This is my first mafex and wow can I see what all the hype is about. Normally I'm 100% black series, but Hasbro's ig-11 crushes my soul. But I think I like the proportions and paint of the mafex a bit better than the shf. To me, that shf is maybe a little too big? I don't know, like you said pick your poison, they are both great figures.
Yup, just pick which one you like best and go with it. I'm STILL pouring through pics because there's so much variation to the comparisons and sizes. But I'm glad both exist so people have a choice.
Plus the SHF is practically unobtanium, i don't understand why these companies always make it so hard for us to give them our money. I'm not in this hobby to feed ebay Scalpers (and shipping companies).

1:36 That part is actually just to have the figure in a vanilla pose without using the regular arm stand, I guess to save space that the bent jointed arm would cause if you have a full shelf. You just have to remove a piece or 2 and reconnect a certain way.
God, this is a tough one... Both the MAFEX and S.H. Figuarts ones are so good as options, but when considering the positives and negatives I honestly have to go with MAFEX. The extra accessories, the superior knee and elbow articulation, and above all else it has the most perfect scale with Mando based off most of the scenes they share. Still, while I can excuse the missing ab crunch given no figure seems to have found a way to add it without breaking the sculpt, that missing neck joint hurts. I've only just recently started collecting figures and both yours and Out of the Basement's videos have been really useful in helping me determine figures worth getting, and not getting so I don't make the mistakes of purchasing poor figure representations of characters. I do have to ask, though, in your opinion what is the best Mando to get? I've heard praise for some of the Black Series versions, but apparently one needs replacement parts, or something? Din has been a figure I can't seem to figure out which one is the best to get.
Should have mine soon. I love the SHF version - a bold and beautiful figure, but appears MAFEX is close second. Using it as an IG 88 custom is the way.
I have both. I think the SHF being so good with no major issues that needed improving and coming out 20 months before the Mafex, dampens the impact of the Mafex's release. The extra accessories of the Mafex don't add too much to it. Both are excellent.
Aaaand ordered! (2nd time that Fwoosh made me run out and order a Mafex. This channel is no good for my wallet.) I was concerned that he'd be as huge as the SHF, this seems more reasonable to me. The food plate... is something you might put in the Shore Trooper's hands, then he is the proper Mandalorian version (confirmation that it fits would be neat). Also ordered a Mafex Death Trooper along with IG-11 (with those shipping prices i gotta double up to make it worth it), the Hasbro ones are... OK-ish, but my god the Guns of the DT are so cool and Hasbro only put bend chewing gum in there for guns. Lets see how long shipping takes, never imported anything from Japan to Germany, 25€ shipping is pretty hefty though, China shipping is always dirt cheap, so odd how random that pricing can be. I hope they don't slap import tax on top of it as well...
Great choice to go with the Mafex Death Trooper as well as their IG-11. Can't go wrong with either the Mafex or SHF (if you can find it) IG. As far as the Death Trooper, the SHF (I have the specialist) has slightly more accurate details, but it is way too small, whereas the Mafex's size and the fact you can swap accessories to make it either the regular and specialist version, make it the better figure. I have all 4 and think you made the right choices. To add: who did you order them from?

@@ZeroB4NG No they are good. Got my Death and Shore Troopers from them. They seem to always have those two in stock. I choose EMS shipping with Plaza, AmiAmi, HLJ and NinNin all located in Japan. Takes about 5-8 days to arrive without any import fees to me in London.
I would love that. The amount of fun painting in the metallic parts and dirt would be very satisfying. I can only image how weak the arms would be though, and how hard it would be to create a well engineered assembly kit for it. That maybe the reason why Bandai haven't given us and 11 or an 88.
I actually think SIZE wise, the argument could be made the SHF is better as 88, whereas i think 11 appears a tiny bit smaller (guesstimating of course) because 88, if you account for his feet being on a lower step is HUGE. i think 11 scans a bit smaler to my eyes. (And yes I know they are the same droid type, but still...)
I can see that, and I've been looking through pics for the last 30 minutes jumping back and forth. This pic shows this, but this one shows this, and then there's this pic, that's kinda in-between. I'm just going to go with my head canon and call it good, hah.

I think i'll repaint some of it and hit the metallic with a more satin flattening varnish, and some washes and weathering. But I do wish I'd picked up the SHF when it came out. @@TheFwoosh There is no debate to be had about the size of IG-88. The guy who built the prop says that it was 8'0", and the head is a jet part with a known size. IG-11 is a different story, but one that I don't care about, heh.

Both the shf and the mafex IG 88 on the self the SHF works as a episode 1 IG 88 and the mafex works better as season 1 finally IG 88

Just noticed the feet are reversed in the box and box art so need swpinning around. Hot Toys and other sources show them the right way round.
