Might be my favorite class system in gaming. 👏You can change classes but keep the same weapons equipped so you can unlock the new class arts while still playing with your leveled up set.
It's a departure from the trilogy for sure with it's MMO style structure but it is also one of the greatest open worlds of all time in my opinion, it's an absolute marvel.
Also, some side missions give the game way more depth. Different game, but still one I wish would get a re-release.🙂

Similar experience for me, I’ve always played Pokemon games growing up and other random rpg-lites but Xenoblade 2 was the first proper JRPG i’ve ever played and got incredibly invested into. Since then, I’ve played the trilogy and all its DLC for over 450 hours, Octopath Traveler 1&2, Live a Live, Triangle Strategy, Dragon Quest 11, FE Three Houses, Nier Automata, and now Persona 5 Royal. Truly my gateway JRPG and one of my favourite games of all time.

I knew nothing about Xenoblade when Xenoblade Definitive Edition came out, I just knew I liked the music and the game looked cool. There weren’t any big games that I was interested in at the time so I preordered the Works Set on a whim. Within the second week of quarantine, the game arrived. To say it changed my life was an understatement. It allowed me to immerse myself in a sublime world when the real world was locked down.
I have played every entry in the series. It is hands down my favorite series ever made.

Literally my exact experience with Xenoblade, except; I didn't play the game immediately as I was playing Breath of the Wild and FF7 concurrently at the time. I probably played Definitive Edition 8-12 months after I initially received the Definitive Works Set.
After finishing 1, I immediately bought 2 and loved it even more, and of course pre-ordered 3's Collectors Edition. The series has single handedly changed my perspective of gaming and storytelling in multiple ways, and quickly catapulted itself to the top of my favorites list.
Easily my favorite gaming franchise ever, with 2 being my favorite game of all time despite its glaring flaws.

My first Xenoblade game was 2, and it was an amazing experience, I'm glad I gave it a chance in 2017, then I got to play DE and 3, great gaming experiences, everyone should play this trilogy.
For me my favorite game is between 2 and 3 (counting DLC of both), they have amazing characters, stories, worlds and gameplay. Even if DE isn't my favorite, it's still in my top 10 games.

0:25 It's funny that the fact Xenoblade 1 being localized by Nintendo of Europe, because NoA didn't think the game would sell in North America, is one of the things that made the series so iconic. The fact that the Voice actors actually did a fantastic job for most of the games probably really helped as well.

I've been a nintendo fan ever since I was a kid and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Even after I bought a ps2 I always bought the new nintendo console too and these days I feel so vindicated for it too. I did'nt get into Xenoblade specifically until the trailers for 3 started coming out and I noticed the nopon charachters were in the party. I love stories that will have non human charachters in the main cast and especially in a party for an rpg. Variety is always good and I love when a setting with things like magic or fantastical creatures will embrace that by having non humans among the main cast.
So needless to say once I saw that it sparked my curiosity and I looked into it more, eventually buying the first 2 games during the wait for Xenoblade Chronicles 3's future redeemed dlc which turned out to be a real good idea. I'm hooked on this series now and really want 4 to come out sooner rather than later.

My Xenoblade journey started in 2017 with Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and I instantly fell in love with the series. It's crazy how Monolithsoft put out 2 games 1 remake and 3 DLC stories on 1 single console.
I enjoyed these games so much that recently I've decided to take a look at some of Monoliths older games like Xenosaga & Baiten Kaitos the latter even has a updated version on Switch. But man do I hope Bandai Namco decides to remake Xenosaga together with Monolithsoft. If u like Xenoblade I highly advise to play Xenosaga aswell!

I actually held a similar POV about the switch to you. Just thought it was a weak gimmicky console for little kids to play Mario. When tears of the kingdom released it changed my whole view of the switch and I immediately began searching for a switch lite on Facebook Marketplace. Have been playing Tears of the kingdom since March and am loving it. I bought Metroid prime remastered recently and planning to play it soon.

What makes it especially mindblowing is that that Switch game is a remastered Wii game that was drawing that huge world on 88 MB of ram.

it's just impressive that the first game was made for the switch, it's that the first game was made for the sparking Wii of all things back in the day and literally the only thing they changed between it and Definitive edition is the artstyle, UI, and Future Connected, which was originally an entire scrapped area hidden in the wii version
also impressive: Xenoblade 2 was created by a skeleton crew for the most part because the majority of Monolithsoft's staff was helping with making Breath of the Wild, small miracle it still came out as well as it did

I started DE in late 2021 and finished it in early 2022, and wouldn't you know it, just my luck a mere week after buying 2, 3 got announced in the direct. I was in disbelief and overjoyed. The following months were me rushing through FC, 2 and Torna while getting as much side content done (100% ish, if you will) before 3 came out. Once it finally did..... oh boy. Every trailer, every gameplay clip, everything was shaping up to 3 being my favorite far and away, I just had a hunch and BOY did it deliver.
If and when Xenoblade 4 comes out it's got some huge shoes to fill from 3, but whatever it ends up being i'll welcome it with open arms, I LOVE these games.

Just saw this on my feed and got to say that you made the right choice of going out of your "comfort zone" to say the least. I mean we can be pretty biased when it comes to games truthfully and I am as well because I'm so focused on traditional turn-based that I forgot what its like to play an action games or any other genre. So surprisingly I picked up platformers and action RPGs and grew to love them again so I will just say, "never say never" :D

This franchise saved my life, I was going through a seriously rough time and I bottled all of my struggles with all of that up. So when I started the franchise it lit me like a firework, it taught me to be hopeful, to express my thoughts and how I feel, and it taught me to never give up and to keep striving for greatness. Out of everything, it taught me how to feel, to have feelings and act on them. Before Xenoblade I never cried but after it I cry for everything now. So thank god I played this franchise, it had enriched my life and has become a part of me.

Shutouts to DeeBeeGeek, I also picked up Xenoblade Chronicles DE when he was streaming. For me the definitive moment was Dee playing through Makna Village, on a Friday, while I was having a beer after work, fell in love with the game and bought it in that moment. Since then I've collected every physical copy, books, amiibo and piece of music I could.

I’m glad you took the Switch a chance! My first switch game was breath of the wild. Aka I got the Switch immediately when it came out lol I’ve always enjoyed Nintendo’s consoles. Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy advance, DS, DSi, 3DS. The Wii? Only for wiisports and Epic Mickey.
Next console will definitely be SwitchPro. And it’s needed. Switch framerate can barely handle Tears of the Kingdom.

I got myself a cheap Switch from a friend when I moved out. I basically went to a remote town and lived in an apartment in which internet was hard to install so the Switch I got from said friend was most of my entertainment. Took me a month or two at the time to buy the first Xenoblade Chronicles and another few months to complete it. It has been little more than a year since I got into this series and, now with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 cleared and playing the DLC at the moment, I'm pretty much sure I found another thing to obsess over.
How a little device like the Switch is able to hold a gem like this in exclusivity is beyond me but I don't care, I became a Nintendo fan again.

alone the documentarys about how the game was created and in danger of being cut short only for nintendo to say
"dude, dont worry about the deadline, finish your gamelike you envisioned it, its done when its done" compared to his old bosses at square who cut funding and support and the bosses after
    that shelved his visions.

Ah 2018… 17 year old me sitting in my room looking at the switch’s horrifically laggy eshop. Saw xenoblade 2 on my wishlist after hearing some good things about it from a friend. Was just after my birthday so i had the money to spare and picked up the game. Played about 5-6 hours and put it down. It wasnt clicking. The gameplay was horrible, why was attacking so slow. Why do i have to wait to use moves? Skipping every cutscene. Cut to 3-4 months later and i try the game again. This time not skipping the cutscenes. Bam. From that moment onwards i became the pope of the church of klaus. Ive beaten xenoblade 2 5 times and 3 3 times. And now 6 years later i still love the games more than any other in the whole world.

    I loved Xenoblade 1.
Weirdly enough, the only thing I wish they continued to build upon was the district rebuilding part.
I had so much fun finding collectibles and adding to my little town, i wish they found a way to go more in depth with it.
After playing through Eiyuden Chronicle, I was reminded of Xenoblade again when building up your castle town. I can't explain it, but I always enjoy that aspect of JRPGs over all the other mini games & side content (when offered).

There are great looking games out there for every console... While i admit not having played all these i cant get rid of the intuition that the Xenoblade series stands out - for "having soul". It goes deep, very deep. Its not only survival that matters but also insight and wisdom. And power is not the ultimate goal of any journey - it's rather the wisdom of how power is used.
Its impressive how the Xenoblade series addresses existential issues in a mix of pleasant lightness and suprising depth.
Monolith Soft has undoubtedly created masterpieces which will be remembered in the future.

The only thing more jaw dropping than realizing the Definitive Edition ran so well on the Switch was giving the game a chance on release and realizing a game like this was even remotely possible ON THE WII. 😮
I played the crap out of the Wii, so trust me when I say Xenoblade tricked me into thinking I was on a completely different console. Every time I thought they couldn't possibly cram any more into this game, I entered a new massive area with even more story and was blown away. I thought I was near the end of the game when I reached the Fallen Arm, but then when we got to the Mechonis, they turned the entire thing into ANOTHER vast and exciting area! It felt like the already impressive size of the game doubled right when I thought it reached its limits! Don't get me started on beating Egil and thinking I finally beat the game, "we finally saved the Bionis" and then all hell broke loose and things STILL somehow escalated into absolute madness.
I couldn't believe after all the games I played on the Wii, that a game on this console could ever come close to going this far and this hard. I've been a hardcore Xenoblade fan ever since, and 265 hours of XC3 later, I can say I don't regret a single moment of my decision 😊

My first exposure to the Xenoblade brand was an advert in a Galaxy 2 case. Though, I didn't know anything about it until Smash 4 came out. I played through about half of it when it came to N3DS. I only stopped because I completely forgot you could upgrade arts and wondered why the game got so hard, which somehow happened again in both X _AND_ 2. It will _not_ happen again in 3.

Loved Xenoblade since Operation Rainfall brought it to my attention. People who claim to play games for their stories really, REALLY need to check these games out. Play them in order 1-2-3, I love having invested all the time I've put into these games (over 1000+ hours total incluiding Xenoblade Chonicles X on Wii U which was my whole reason to get that console). Great video!
