I dont know and understand why people are exited about new refreshed model y,it still got short lasting traditional tabbed 2018 interduced panasonic 2170 NCA cells, which only has 1000 cycle life(one of the lowest in the industry),it still uses same out dated and heavy electric motors,it still relies on out dated 400 volt architecture,it only gets very small range gain,i still dont understand why people are exited about it...

@EnmandsBand1 definitely! Car camping is one of the benefits with EVs, and to have V2L, adds waay more utility for cooking or even powering other vehicles or even your house during an outage. Glad that Hyundai/kia have v2L, tesla only has it with the Cybertruck, they need to add it to the rest of the range

Agree! In other markets where Chinese cars are banned this is probably the best of the best, but in markets where Chinese cars are available this is lacking 800 volts, larger battery, faster charge times, heads-up display which are all available in the Chinese models for several thousand less.

Unfortunately it's not future proof for charging, being on a 400V platform. It's still too expensive for most buyers, so we're either going to have to buy a used one or hope that the new lower cost models are 800V and are more compelling even if they are more basic.
Nobody cares about the extra power, all it does is guarantee that it's still in the highest possible insurance group. That's 50E in the UK, which is crazy for a family car. What we need is options to detune the unnecessary acceleration and top speed to get into lower insurance groups. We're not all Boy Racers, some just want to drive responsibly.
Thank goodness for the stalks, those are absolutely needed in Europe, the land of Roundabouts.

    • @protagonist9716

No V2L, no V2G, no 48 v harness, no 800 volt, no bigger battery. No steer by wire. This vehicle is designed to be convenient and value for money. Those extras would have made it much more costly to produce and it is clear at this point that customers in high volumes don`t want to pay for premium. Just look at the CT, they pretty much already exhausted customers willing to pay >80 K for this premium beast. MY is designed to be the no 1 most sold, hence only premium features that are sensible from a cost perspective

Yes is different but just take a short time and your use to it. To me, nothing at all suggest that it has steer by wire, also no 800 volts or 48 volts that would be needed for steer by wire. Probably would add a lot of cost and is not sensible for such a high volume vehicle.

Nice video. Not a criticism, I enjoy your insights. I tend to think prices could go higher if XAI508P rockets. But understand the logic for sandbagging estimates. My opinion is XAI508P breaks 1, perhaps reaches 10 ATH, if conditions are right. But broader forces are at play now. We’re moving into really unknown territory. And these entities are shrewd. I think there’s massive manipulation ahead. If XAI508P survives that, well, we’re likely in for a good pump.
