As a native spanish speaker, I don't think I could explain this topic as simple as you do. You help me to improve my english listening skills and this is an opportunity to understand better my own language. Thanks and greetings from Mexico!!!
Native speakers without special training are usually good for conversation but not for teaching grammar. This is because we can speak the language and apply the rules correctly without explicitly knowing them. That is different when you learn a language after puberty. Then you need explicit rules and only those people can pass on these explicit rules to another set of learners.
Gracias! I've ignored the subjunctive for as long as I could. I know I need to start understanding it, but every lesson I have tried, I. could. not. grasp. it. This is the first time I have finally started to understand the subjunctive. *Light bulb moment*
Muchas Gracias ! I had many doubts, how to use subjuntivo but this lesson has cleared my so many doubts. I am from India and a Yoga expert. I am learning Spanish to do ancient yoga practice amongst Spanish speakers This lesson is very helpful. Please make more videos. Thanks 🙏
This is the best class I ever attended to learn about the subjunctive in Spanish. Thanks a ton! No one ever explained the subjunctive this easy for me. Hats off to you! You doing a great job.
That was the best way of explaining this topic, Great. I speak 5 languages, and I can honestly say, I haven’t heard or seen anyone explaining it so clearly. Well done Professor
You Sir, are a genius. I was raised Bilingually. Both my parents were from Puerto Rico and we lived in New York. Soy Nuyorriqueño. When I was a kid I would go back-and-forth between English and Spanish. Even though I took Spanish classes in High School, I was never able to get a handle on the subjunctive. I’m a 68 year old man. Me defiendo bastante en español, but it generally baffles me when it comes to the subjunctive. I do speak Spanish with my cousin every day. He lived in Puerto Rico for a few years with his parents and went to Catholic University of Puerto Rico.. So whenever we speak Spanish he stays in Spanish and I devolve into speaking Spanglish. And that generally happens when I am confronted with the subjunctive. Your explanation of WEIRDO is brilliant. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard such a thorough explanation of what the thing is. Thank you
I fully came here because the subjunctive has defeated me, but I couldn't stop playing the intro, the way you said Worcestershire just had me in pieces hahahahaha (I'm British), so thank you. I can form the subjunctive in my sleep but knowing when to use it is the hardest. The examples help. Thankyou.
Hi I have only been learning Spanish for 2 months, and I went on to utube and saw many videos, but your videos are brilliant, so easy to follow. I watch them every day!!! Thank you Jeannette
I've been able to speak and understand passable Spanish up to the subjunctive level for 25 years until now. This legit will open up my conversations. Thank you!!!
No wonder why instead of saying, " Ten un buen dia ", it's "Que tengas un buen dia. " I always wondered this, because I was taught that forming commands is done generally by withdrawing the ending of the infinitive... " Ten " " Pon " "Ven " Knowing this made me want to say ten un buen dia, to say have a good day... But, in actuality I suppose that statement is in the subjunctive tense and thus must be said as, " Que tengas un buen dia " since it is really a wish of yours for what's to come; a request in a way. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! I also watched a show that had a scene where a girl said, " No me toques " and I wondered why she said that instead of tocas since tocas is the tu form... Now I understand it's because of the subjunctive. Holy cow it's very helpful to know this. Thank you for the vid! Yo espero que HAGAS mas videos 😉🤓
oh wow, I wish I'd gotten this kind of explanation when I was learning French - I never thought of it as multiple subjects, just random types of conditions that trigger using it. This made it so much easier to think about. I won't be as intimidated learning the subjunctive in Spanish now!
The subjunctive has been my bane of learning Spanish, I knew the WEIRDO acronym but just couldn’t grasp the ideals. The ease at which you broke it down was nothing short of a moment of clarity for me. Thank you. God Bless you for these free videos and your time
You just made something click that I've been confused about basically since I first started learning. It never made sense to say for the english, "have a good day!" > "!que TENGAS un buen día!" NOW I GET IT because the "espero" is implied and it makes the tener subjunctive🤯🤯🤯
when I first started off I cannot speak Spanish but because of you right now I'm intermediate in Spanish I'm so happy to have you as a teacher thank you
I started my Spanish journey two years ago with your Spanish for Beginners playlist. I finished that then moved on to Duolingo and other spanish youtube videos here and there. Now I'm watching telenovelas with Spanish subtitles and livestreams on Twitch. I'm far from fluent but I feel myself picking up more and more things and its very rewarding. Language learning is a great hobby that I recommend for everyone. Anyway I never understood the subjunctive but your video makes it seem simple. Your videos are awesome and you are a great teacher. I'm happy to see you are still making content and I wish you all the best. Paz y bendiciones a ti
I have been watching for 2 months, and I think I' m already going to speak spanish. Cause you are teaching a lot and I only need the speed to speak like a native speaker. Cause you are the best teacher and no other teacher can compete cause you teach everything we need to know about the subject on the episode😊
Sir I just wanted to thank you for helping me learn Spanish (still a lot to learn) . I just finished AIB Spanish series & was looking to learn more from you & came across your channel. thank you for doing this. 💪🇮🇳⚽😇

Muy bien Danny, buen video. Soy hablante de castellano y te cuento que la mayoría no suele tener ni idea de qué es el subjuntivo. Se aprende y se usa por lógica, por cómo suena. Saludos.
Thank you very much for your help, as a native Spanish speaker I was always so insecure about how to explain this. Yes the subjunctive is hard to grasp. It took a long time to finally master it in German. Now here I go again in Spanish. I thought it would be easier this time around but oh no way. But this is by far the best explanation I’ve yet come across in any language. All of Language Tutors instructional’s are excellent. Thank you!
