    I enjoy your channel and trying to learn Spanish as I commute to work/home. The only issue is I am 8 min into the video and arrived to my destination and I have not heard a single Spanish word just yet but English grammar. I am pretty sure thats helpful for many though. I believe making short video and to the point when you can see the example of the subject matter right away would interest some people as well. Much appreciated. Thanks for your channel and hard work.

    In "I wrote letters every week."
    "Yo escribía cartas todas las semanas"
    Don't we put any articles before "cartas" lile we do in French?
    Plz reply dr.

    • @jhonny1392
      @jhonny1392 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Arnab. I'm from Chile, South America. About your request it dosen't go an article before *cartas* because if you do so, this phrase sounds NOT RIGHT. In your example this would be *Yo escribía LAS cartas todas las semanas* and in this case the LAS article is not necesary and gramatically is incorrect. However, in other sense of this same phrase it would be necesary to add the LAS article, but not in the sense your example is written. Cheers, John from Santiago de Chile.
      BTW, a more accurate translation to "I wrote letters every week" would be *Yo escribía cartas cada semana*

    • @Leonardo-1
      @Leonardo-1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jhonny1392
      Arnab did not say: each week.
      She said: every week.
      And yes you can use the article LAS cartas and the sentence wont be wrong or incorrect.
      Yo le escribiá las cartas a mi abuela todas las semanas.
      In that sentence LAS is perfectly correct and the imperfect does not get lost.
      ONE LOVE!

    English so much more economic and simple, learn two words 'used to' plus the present tense verb, as opposed learning a whole new two forms of verb endings with all the exceptions. It's literally hundreds of extra words to remember.

  • @aakashchhokar8390

    Sir, is there no need of 'estar verb' to make sentences in past progressive, ex:- i was eating, i was playing, i was studying...
    Can we use imperfect form in both are the situations like, to tell past habit and past progressive too, so sir how will be identifying that which one is progressive and which one is telling the past habit.

    • @TheLanguageTutor
      @TheLanguageTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hola Dr. Danny, I found myself laughing out loud with you when you were talking about hablaba and it made me think back to when I was taking lessons in class at the Spanish institute in Manchester. Your teaching method and clarity of explanation is what makes me a dedicated student of your lessons. The great advantage your method has for me is that during class based lessons I couldn't take good notes and listen to the teacher's explanations at the same time, whereas I just pause, rewind and repeat as required to gain maximum benefit from your lessons. The only element I miss is that I am not speaking Spanish at the moment and this is something I have to address. P.S. escribiendo mi cuaderno di tablas!

    I’ve just spent many hundreds of dollars on Preply, lingoda, lingopie etc And by far I have learned more from your free videos than any other source. You even pause for us to repeat and practice which I greatly appreciate. As others have already stated, but I will repeat… You are the best teacher by far!! Muchas gracias maestro 🎉

    Muchas gracias! Simple and clear🙂 I didn't learn English grammar when I started improving my English. Now, it makes me learn it. I'm learning English ang Spanish at the same time. Thanks for teaching both!
