I’ve just spent many hundreds of dollars on Preply, lingoda, lingopie etc And by far I have learned more from your free videos than any other source. You even pause for us to repeat and practice which I greatly appreciate. As others have already stated, but I will repeat… You are the best teacher by far!! Muchas gracias maestro 🎉

Hola Dr. Danny, I found myself laughing out loud with you when you were talking about hablaba and it made me think back to when I was taking lessons in class at the Spanish institute in Manchester. Your teaching method and clarity of explanation is what makes me a dedicated student of your lessons. The great advantage your method has for me is that during class based lessons I couldn't take good notes and listen to the teacher's explanations at the same time, whereas I just pause, rewind and repeat as required to gain maximum benefit from your lessons. The only element I miss is that I am not speaking Spanish at the moment and this is something I have to address. P.S. escribiendo mi cuaderno di tablas!

I enjoy your channel and trying to learn Spanish as I commute to work/home. The only issue is I am 8 min into the video and arrived to my destination and I have not heard a single Spanish word just yet but English grammar. I am pretty sure thats helpful for many though. I believe making short video and to the point when you can see the example of the subject matter right away would interest some people as well. Much appreciated. Thanks for your channel and hard work.

The best explanation I have heard defining the difference between the preterite and imperfect is to think of it like time flowing as a river the _ongoing_ flow of the river is the imperfect from left to right. But the stones / pebbles / bricks to cross the river are single points in the river. If you're referring to the flow of the river, it's imperfect (it all looks the same / very similar), but the pebble is only in one place

Hi Dan! I have been working on my Spanish (seriously) for the last three years. I lived in Guatemala for a year and then went to Oaxaca. Guatemalan Spanish is so different from Mexican Spanish. ¡Hola Dr. Evans!

I am retired and want to travel to Central America. I took the Elementary Spanish I & II at the local college. Right when the second part started, we went into "house arrest" with the virus. The course became an online course. I didn't want to annoy the professor with daily email questions. I found Danny Evans and was rescued. He breaks it down to terms even a caveman such as myself can understand (no offense to cavemen). With his dry humor and anecdotes, he makes learning the language fun and interesting! He is an excellent knowledge and very effective professor. Buena suerte en el futuro :-)
