@@KirbyMaster to be fair they are very similar. You can take this anywhere just like the switch. On the switch you can use the joycons attached or use it on the tv while the switch is in the dock. With this you can still play it portably or you can turn it into controller mode and play through the wireless HDMI dongle. So they are both kinda hybrid but both very different in other ways.

this is cool and it makes sense, the gamepad feels way more comfortable than the switch controllers i feel like their next dedicated handheld should have better grips
Honestly I kinda like this concept more than the final design of the Switch. It would have been absolute hell to actually implement, but having built-in screen protection and a pocketable form factor à la the DS would have been pretty cool.
It's a good design. I think instead of the sides closing, they should instead come off of the screen becoming 2 different controllers, and instead of the plain old white like we're used to seeing, let's switch it up a bit and use maybe red and blue. With the concept of the system being it's own controller being able to switch to a mini portable system, I say let's call it the Switch. The Nintendo Switch.

I mean imagine if you could have backwards compatibility with Wii U games and Wii games! You wouldn’t have to spend $60 on a game you bought years ago. Remember Iwata was a gamer first and Furukawa is just a businessman first. I think it’s obvious who was a better person to lead Nintendo.
If nintendo really did this, j would be really happy, since i got so much good memories with the wii u, the menu's music in the gamepad, Splatoon, not knowing how to play Starfox 64, and much others... I want my childhood back
I sadly don't think nintendo is ever going to realease a console both portable and T.V. mode, i think they will go on a totally different way. I hope it sells more than the wii u tho.
