My 2001 Red Lightning is in the body shop as we speak getting repainted. I can't wait to get it back in about 3 to 4 weeks. I have owned my truck for 18 years and I will never part with it. I did exactly what you are doing. Bought all new plastics, tonneau cover, new chrome wheels that were original to the 2001. I can't wait to see it all reassembled. I didn't even think about that decal but it's a nice touch. Fast and the Furious is the reason I bought the truck. I saw it in the movie and I just had to own one.
In all fairness. It’s an SVT product built under the great John Coletti. The fastest production truck for 5 straight years. Imo, that’s what makes it so iconic. Paul walker was cool, but he didn’t build it. All he did was scrape the front of it up. And since no one else has mentioned it….The turn signal mirrors. 👍nice truck!
You and all of us too! We are getting there. Parts hold up. And bumper drama. We are all excited to see these all move a little faster. Thank you for your patience and your support!
Love your attention to detail on the builds! Can’t wait to see all of the cars and truck together! I look forward to more great videos! Appreciate you guys and all your hard work :-)
Older vehicles that have the lines on the lens, it's called a fluted lens. That's what focusses the beam whereas the newer lights the reflector itself focusses the beam.
Usually us Lightning guys will shim the cab to correct the body kit misalignment that is factory on all trucks. Never thought about adding plastic instead of 10cent washers…
Great work guys F150 truck is looking great looking forward to see how the other builds are going keep up the hard work cause i know many years down the line all these fast and furious vehicles are going to be worth a huge amount of money cause you guys have done thing to the latter :)
That’s dedication that you had the later model lightning it made it to 99 i myself got a 99 Ford lightning with only 23,000 miles bone stock absolutely love it
We packed up the APEX'i boxes for the Supra and we will be headed to Greddy next! Nothing for shipping is overnight lately! Always some kind of delays.
I got the 2001 Ford Lightning red just like yours it's a Johnny lightning quite modified long tube headers 3in exhaust 411 rear end. Quick would be a nice Fast and Furious truck it is mine in my head
A small decal sticker on the back of the tail gate or under the lighting badges with the lighting font that could say F&F Edition Or The Fast & Furious Edition. Just an idea
We had a few issues finding them. It wasn't as easy as we had hoped but we finally got a decent set then had them cleaned up at our favorite wheel shop.
The bed rail caps were refinished in house. We couldn't find any in time for us to complete the build so we removed the OE ones and refinished them to look brand new.
@@JustDriven How would someone be able to get those 2 parts? Would you guys happen to know ? Also for the refinishing process . Basically take out scuff marks or impurities(if any) and make them black again or how ? Thank you .
We contacted Ford dealers all over the country trying to find a set with no luck. Ours weren't in terrible shape so we were fortunate. We cleaned them up and stripped the impurities out off of them. Then we used a trim paint to bring them back up to a new look. Hope this helps.
11:39 I never noticed the speed lines coming off “The Racer’s Edge” logo in all hundred or so times I watched that damn movie. That’s great attention to detail! 7:39 Cleaning your dog’s eye boogers with your bare hands?!? 🤮 I’m just kidding, I love my dogs like that, too! 😝 Edit: WTH Does Apex’i make that needs a box that large? I thought I was well familiar with their catalog. Now that I’m finally building my Supra TT, I need to check out their latest offerings!
The decals had to be perfect. It's why we reached out to @slinginpartsforharry to cook us up the best. The little nugget is Eggzy. Sometimes the eye boogers need to come off and we usually wipe them on Alex anyway! So it's fine. They make a few things with boxes that big! Check out their site and guess "what's in the box?!"
Fantastic. At 11:23 what are the little buttons under the drivers door handle? Is that a type of alarm immobiliser? (Maybe common in USA, I'm in UK and have never seen that). Thanks.
That's exactly what it is. Nice catch. Ford and several other manufacturers used small key code pads as a security measure. Between us we couldn't think of a single person we've met he used them!
I tell you. On my 01 lightning that side skirt piece doesn’t match on any of both sides. On one is just like you had it on yours but on the other is way higher. That reminds me of the episode of top gear where they reviewed the lightning and said Americans build cars like ass. Well they didn’t say it that way but were complaining about the huge gaps on the interior and how nothing matched.
Hey Alan! We appreciate your enthusiasm for the Supra build, it's one of MANY builds we have. Were you able to catch the update last Wednesday? It explained where the car has been. What's your favorite part of the build so far?
@@JustDriven I love the whole thing. I just wish there was more of a follow along with the build. More detailed. It’s an amazing build, that I wish were more or better documented showing the work that goes into it. That car may arguably be one of the most if not the most important or iconic cars in movie culture of all time, and that’s coming from. a traditional hot rod guy. I don’t think I caught the Supra update video from last week, maybe i did. I’ll go back and check
You are right about how iconic the Supra is. We understand the love and admiration everyone has for the Supra, we feel the same way about it. Here at the shop we have roughly 12 builds going on (no exaggeration). We try and document as much as we can to share with everyone the details. We unfortunately cannot capture it all. Sorry if we can't get it all to show up in the videos. We are trying!
@@JustDriven well just think about this. I have been an automotive super fan for a long time. I follow a lot of builders in depth. You guys have some of the best, top notch, attention to detail that I have ever seen. I’m regards to TH-cam, instagram, TikTok. If you guys ramped the video production and social media team up, and pumped out more videos following the builds, from a financial standpoint, it would give even more revenue to your company, but also increase your popularity as a shop because the more videos you pump out, the more people would know about you

We love the Lighting. It ticks a lot of boxes for us. Hopefully you'll have your truck back and you'll get to fall in love all over again!
Wow amazing how something so small turned out to be iconic because of one wonderful person. RIP Paul Walker we all miss an love you brother!
Barely in the original movies but so iconic, You are right.

@@JustDriven You’re welcome!
Always considered Bryan's Lightning to be a sweet truck. Glad to see you guys did nice justice to it.
Brian's Lightning was a sweet truck! We tried to make sure this refresh breathed the life back into this iconic Ford.
Great job!! Truck looks fantastic! I love how you guys pay so much attention to detail, it makes it so much more surreal! I love this channel👍👍👍
Thank you so much.
So clean! Cant wait for the rest of the f&f builds!!

I'll have the tuna... no crust !
No one loves the tuna.
Hes just slinging parts for harry!
Was he? Or was he just fired?
Insane attention to detail, very well done 👏
Thank you very much!
Love it !!! Great job guy's !
Thank you!
Wow very nice she looks awesome Good job on the small details. Stuff like that would drive me crazy to haha.👍🇦🇺
Some things you can't unsee. So we just have to fix it.
Awesome filming. Great editing
This channel is good!
Awesome, thank you!

It's really a fun truck! Yah, we even swapped as much as we could. Even the '99 windshield.
This truck came out stunning
Thank you so much!
Outstanding work!
Thank you kindly!
That truck needs some boxes asap overnight from Japan
We packed up the APEX'i boxes for the Supra and we will be headed to Greddy next! Nothing for shipping is overnight lately! Always some kind of delays.
That was quick looks great ! 🔥
We knew it wouldn't take too long. We had a pretty solid base to start with!
Agreed it’s all in the small details
Every. Little. Detail. Thank you for the support.
You obviously know the in and outs of your own vehicles, but honestly, on camera, it looks mint, better than new.
We are very picky! We want only the best for our shop truck which we will be having to beat up a little bit now.
Looks great 🤙 I hope the 392 Hemi for the Charger is correct. That would suck to have something completely different.
Glad you liked it.
Such a awesome build! When can we see this truck at Toretto's Market?
I'm sure we could swing that!
Lovely truck you created.
Thank you very much!

Nice! Your Lightning sounds tough!
🔥🔥🔥
Guys. I think you forgot the most important part of the replica. The boxes in the back as Brian is bringing the Supra parts to Dom’s garage.
We thought about replicating that also, but then we wouldn't have any room for the Charger engine when we transport it back and forth to the builder.
I like the old into
Which one?
Nicely done you guys! I love it!
Did y’all get the engine problems sorted out as you said in the first video of this series?
We sure did. Adrian made short work of dialing in all the suspension refresh and the engine tune-up. Runs like a dream now!
🔥
♪Life ain't a game... NOOO... ♫
I wouldn't mind seeing a fast and furious edition sticker somewhere on the truck ..
What kind of sticker did you have in mind?
A small decal sticker on the back of the tail gate or under the lighting badges with the lighting font that could say F&F Edition

Oooo....Yah not a bad idea!
Such a shame Paul isn't around to see a complete restore of this
It really is a shame. His legacy and honor live on through all of us. Thank you for your support!

I’d never ever get rid of it ! I miss Paul walker 😢

i NEED TO FIND THOSE WHEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a few issues finding them. It wasn't as easy as we had hoped but we finally got a decent set then had them cleaned up at our favorite wheel shop.
Nice
Thanks
The front bumper needs work. Many lightnings have that crease under the fog light area. Especially 99 and 00s
Not sure what you mean. We don't have any complaints about the bumpers.
I always thought the racers edge decal was on both sides
It is on both sides. If you watch the section with Rodney you'll see him applying the graphics to both the passenger and the driver side doors.
Awesome content

No it was not.
how's the tuna?!

does it come automatic

Is this truck street legal or no
It is street legal. All factory parts. Smogged in California and registered.
Was that truck supercharged
'twas
See I thought it was supercharged do you know what the dyne hp and torc was
Google says: 380hp and 450lb-ft
I hate ford's but the 3 iwould love to own:
1976 Ford falcon Xbox gt ( mad max)
1996 Ford explorer ( jurassic park)
And this truck.
The Jurassic Park Explorer would be fun as a tough off-road tribute!
TUNA NO CRUST.
No crust. None.
So is this a clone ???
It's made to look like the movie truck.
