R5C has also a very dirty iso at 2500. 3200 looks clean and smooth. Remember the old days with the Canon 5D, you had to carefully select your iso in multiples of 160.

Thanks for this video! I'll have to play with these ISO levels on my R5. Super interesting!!!

Few R5c owners seem to realise that the base iso (3200 & 800) and regular iso settings can also be used simultaneously. The R5C is the first Canon camera to have this feature. It is an extra function - not the same as just selecting one of the native or base iso's in R5. Selecting base iso 3200 and simultaneously using iso 800 can provide excellent low noise results when shooting in low light scenarios.

Regarding RAW, think about that dual native iso does not work when you change it in post, you have to dial in the right iso (8oo or 3200) before recording.

I wonder if 3200iso looks just as clean when shooting raw externally. Would be nice to shoot 8K ProRes Raw with the Ninja V+ while having low noise at 3200iso.

Standard profile didn't look like much change because the native ISO is not 800 for standard video. Only for C-log 3 and C-log 2 raw. ISO 100 and 400 would be the equivalent for standard video and dual native ISO. C-log 3 is lifted 3 stops which is the difference between ISO 100 and ISO 800. It's also why C-log 3 has 6.3 stops over middle gray vs 3.3 stops for standard video. It's the nature of how log works. I'm not sure if dual native ISO really makes much sense between ISO 100 and ISO 400 on a FF camera. Its log thats already lifted 3 stops where it can make a huge difference.

You'll always get less noise on full stops than in-between stops when shooting log. If your shooting raw, there is no baked in iso...

What about If you need more ISO. Is any good point to avoid noise when you are in a dark environment? Thanks

at that lower ISO, you may have to check the blue channel...

non log require different dual ISO,not 800 and 3200 anymore

Is this true of crop vs non-crop (regular & hq)? BTW, as someone pointed out Dual Gain and Dual Native are different concepts

Interesting. I stumbled on to the same type of dual gain like result, with the 1DXIII and C-Log 3. 3200 ISO looked surprisingly good, like it was 400 ISO or better.
