Thanks for sharing your experience, as a fellow brit, your videos have been helpful since I'm working on starting up a shop as well.

Love the videos, just wandering what you do you with waste material ie failed prints, also live in the uk but cant find any recycle centres dedicated to it

Great question and to be honest I have about 6 bin bags in my spare room full of it , I have found a machine I plan on getting to reduce the waste to small particles then put them through a second machine to hopefully transfer this back to a useable filament. But its gonna cost about £700 for the 2 machines but if it works then hopefully I'll be able to recoup the costs as I've separated most of my waste in to colours

Are you always using the tracked service with Royal Mail?

No, not always but to be honest when you create a postal label via Etsy you get some sort of tracking number regardless, only thing is Royal Mail don't always update it, or you get the message "we will update this once we have attempted delivery", this can sometimes be 2 week after the item has been dispatched.

@@craftylabz I am listing on Etsy via Shopify and it is in Shopify that I handle the shipping. When adding the tracking number, it is automatically pushed to Etsy. Recently I've tried an app for Shopify that tracks the shipping status (Shopify only does that if you buy labels through them, like you do on Etsy) and was brilliant with all other couriers apart from Royal Mail although working initially. It seems that Royal Mail have changed something on their API side or are rate limiting access hence why it might affect Etsy too. With that said, I've only used their tracked 24 and 48 postage and we haven't had any problems so far. Our short experience with Evri wasn't so great in comparison and we stopped using it.

Very strange how we've both had totally different experiences. I have considered going back to Royal Mail full time purely due to they collect them, but the difference in cost between them and evri is alot more than I expected and I've only had 1 item go missing with Evri whereas RM I lost count. With regards to Shopify I was never able to get a label to work with Royal Mail, I just hope their new owner sorts some things out. I do like shopify its simple and you have the full tracking from multiple selling platforms, but I do believe that WordPress WooCommerce also have a similar feature now and it would cost me less than £5 a month to run it. Plus if you open an online account with royal mail. you get the same features by linking the site to RM platform and printing labels direct so would still have that feature.
