It is genuinely so nice to see someone do an install video and leave the realistic stuff in there. The number of hours I've spent looking at instructions and saying "is that it? It goes like that?" Is too many to count. And seeing other people who have influence and followings show that part and not just a cool montage of the easy parts and then snapping their fingers and it being done was awesome. Makes me feel not as bad when I'm doing stuff myself. 10/10 video!
I know it’s nostalgia but to me the mk4 Jetta still looks modern to this day. It just a really clean design and I feel like Volkswagen really hit their peak in this era.

As an owner of several MK4 Golfs and NB from the Midwest. I know the struggle working on these old weathered cars. I have learned my lesson and replaced every TTY bolt that I touch and chase the threads before installing the new bolts. Also, anti-seize is your friend. Some bolts are surprisingly expensive but if the old bolt fails, the damage would most likely end up costing more than the bolts and having to re-do again whatever you touched would F suck.
I also pb blasted on everything before I did my mk4 coilovers, worked mint especially where the coilover goes into the knuckle. I didn't have to use a torch once 👍
Honestly for 20 years those fronts didn't look that bad. Mine are Monroe's on 11 years and they're getting to that point. Also really found it interesting it had Bilsteins, I didn't know we made OEM VW stuff. Although I don't work in OE so there's a lot idk. But first time hearing about it or seeing them so kinda cool. Jettas looking good. Curious to see what's next
Sometimes I’m surprised at how few tools some people have, sometimes you gotta struggle to get a set of coilovers in with basic stuff. I have that same Pittsburg socket set, love it! Just wish it had deep well metric sockets 3/8 drive Rust sucks. And coilovers settling… forgot about that on my rsx. Rear needs to go up lol.
@@DakotaStone my top 3 favorite tools: Milwaukee electric 1/2” high torque m18 fuel impact gun. $200-300 with battery. Can loosen almost any bolt besides Honda crank pulley bolts(weighted socket needed lol) Milwaukee electric ratchet fuel m12 3/8” drive. Awesome as it’s a strong ratchet that can probably break free any bolt under 70 ft lbs then you use the electric bit to spin it off(brake jobs are a dream) Milwaukee hackzall any battery size. Cuts exhaust, frame, body stuff and is one hand useable. $500 for all 3 in their best forms on a good deal day at fleet farm haha. Keep it up dude!

Sway bars is a good idea! Im so back and forth on tint.. I feel like with a mk4 Jetta you're 10% of tint away from making it look like a high schoolers car.. haha. Something about old VW's that makes me like the fishbowl. No other car do I feel that way lol
@@DakotaStone I got this stuff called rust away at a gas station in Pennsylvania it was 10 bucks a can but it's really good it works on 40-year-old '80s cars that live their whole life in the Northeast so something's right about it

Dude you shoulda seen the ball joint I did yesterday on an old shifty Taurus. Had to cut it and heat both pieces and press both of them plus the strut wouldn’t fit back in the knuckle holy shit ford😅
@DakotaStone If you want want to go purely OEM+ with the build, I guess the OEM Wolfsburg Ed. Wheels or something similar to it could fit the style. Idk, just my 2 cents, keep up the good work Dakota!

The strut removal part was accurate. When I took out the front struts on my back 220k Focus ST took about an hour to get them to come out
