As someone who grew up on homemade cookies, it’s very odd to hear people complain that the cookies aren’t crunchy. I only ever ate soft, fresh out of the oven cookies.
Right? Cookies should have at least a squidgy centre. Biscuits are crunchy.
I came down to the comments specifically because this was bugging me so much. I felt like my brain was breaking "why do they keep saying that?".
Totally agree. Cookies can be both crunchy and soft. I also agree that it gets old listening to them whine about it not being a cookie because it's soft.
I like my homemade cookies soft n those are homemade is the best. However I can only eat crunchy packaged cookies. Soft packaged cookies have a chemical smell and taste to me.
Yup.
Idk how you're going to feel about these but the company is amazing. When my husband was deployed several years back, I wrote to them about sending goodies to him. They did. And sent my family some brownies and cookies, and a super nice, comfy Lenny & Larry's hoodie!
They all taste like wet garbage.
@@quest4050 The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip one is definitely the best flavor. To each their own though.
when your deployed.. these are a perfect nutrition boost if you don't feel like eating an MRE.
@@quest4050 not when you're on a deployment they don't!
You would have to drink a LOT of liquid to get those down. They are too dry.
Shannon: "It's not even a real cookie, it's a soft cookie! It's not a crunchy cookie!"
Heresy! HERESY!!!! The best cookies are soft and gooey, especially when they are fresh out of the oven and still warm and a little melty.
Soft, gooey and warm is totally different from soft baked though. Slightly under done cookies are fantastic. Soft baked cookies are blegh.
They're softest when fresh, I've had these cookies for breakfast 2-3 days a week since their Shark Tank episode (the gas station near me picked them up right away)
They need the chewy chips ahoy
@@DJKuroh heretic!!! 😜
This is just the difference between European and American culture. In Europe cookies are always crunchy, whereas in the U.S. we grow up eating soft cookies straight out of the oven alongside a glass of ice cold milk. Its not heresy, its just regional.
Chili with beans, now, THAT'S heresy.
I don't like my cookies to have a crunch. The best cookies for me as soft, warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven pull-apart-able, etc.
A hard cookie has it's place but the best ones are chewy and gooey.
Even hard cookies are dunked to soften them up. Heh
*its* place
Martin and Callyanne came to win the fashion try, today :) Have a fantastic day, Tryer's
Callyann never ceases to make any video enjoyable, she's got a great energy about her.
Yes. Every video she's in, I think to myself, I need someone like Callyann in my life.
"Not my favorite". I don't know, that sounds awfully harsh...
Not all cookies are dry and crunchy!
Shannon really needs to learn what a soft baked cookie is. She's been too sheltered on the sweets she's tried over the years. 😂
Love to see Donal & Nicole together. They were my gateway drug into Irish People... Nicole had me at, "Why Sweden? Why would you do this"? And of course the unforgettable Donal dry heaves.., "The trick is to forget you're living!".
The horror they show whenever a cookie isn't as hard as a brick is just hilarious.
Now you have to TRY some real Snickerdoodle cookies.
Shannon - "That's not even a real cookie. That's a soft cookie, not a crunchy cookie!"
Famous Amos - "What did you say about soft cookies?!? Take that back!"
😂😂😂
Famous Amos are super crunchy.
@@afcgeo882 Their original recipe is a soft cookie. They do have crunchy cookies now.
But it was just a joke.
if I've learned anything from these videos it's that there are no soft cookies in Ireland
So you're basing that on the few utterances from 4 people on a TH-cam channel
@@anthonyfloyd5759 it's well over 4 people even in this one video, it's a recurring theme on these videos, it's clear hyperbole, and I bet you're super fun to hangout with.
@@michaelcianci7944 again you're assuming, and the to say im not fun to hang out with because of my comment, the try channel does not speak for the island of Ireland just because they haven't seen or experienced soft cookies doesn't mean the rest of the country hasn't
@@anthonyfloyd5759 I'm inferring, as it is obvious. to say I was assuming would suggest I have no evidence that you don't know how to take a joke.
This entire video I just can't get over the issue of the cookie not being crunchy, I can't stand a crunchy cookie and have always had fresh soft cookies out of the oven. I would get the 'soft baked' ones from the store if I had to settle for store bought.
Heaven forbid other people have different preferences lol
@@andrewft31 I probably should have been more specific and said I can't stand crunchy cookies when it comes to the ones that I consider to be normally soft baked like a chocolate chip cookie, which was the main one I was considering when I posted the comment
@Arjun Ravichandran I believe so
At 4:50 Shannon says "I don't feel like I'm getting 16 grams of gains."
Yeah it's probably because you're just picking out the macadamia nuts and not eating the cookie! lol
So good to see Nicole back! We missed you!
I was hoping that there'd be a peanut butter cookie and Dermot would be in the video 😂
LMHineyO!
How about Brian with the snickerdoodle?
@@CortexNewsService or Justine and a durian flavor cookie
Poor Dermot 😂
I haven't seen him tasting anything with peanut butter in it in ages. I'm guessing he threatened to quit the channel if they kept making him try stuff with peanut butter in it. 🤣
@@autumnsylverWasn’t there a video last week with him eating something that had peanut butter? TBH I want to know what traumatic experience he had that makes him hate it. Same for George.
4:46
uh... I'm sorry, what did she say to him there? I'm assuming I must mishearing it.
Yeah I had to hear it a few times myself. It definitely sounded like... well we know what it sounded like.
Just to clarify, Callyann at 4:46 says "Now you're, you're gonna have a jawline out to here!" - we can assure you, as we were there on the day it was filmed! 😁
American cookies are often soft, we have crunchy ones, but Soft is the way to go!
Callyann´s laugh and energy is so amazing. =) Love it
It's good to see Nicole and Martin, been missing them. I can't help but feel a little sorry though, for Martin. I think of all the recent whiskey shoots that have occurred, and he gets ... COOKIES?
Oh seeing Nicole again makes me so happy.
I have missed Nicole! Her reactions are adorable!
Why do Martin and Callyann look so snazzy? 🙌🤩 Must’ve missed the memo 👀😬🥺
Nicole is back!
And I must be a monster, because I love these cookies.
It's probably an older video because they still have the plexiglass in the middle of the table.
The white macadamia nut is my jam! Can't have sugar so love these
Americans have a thing about soft cookies. The marketers found out that Americans wanted a warm fresh soft cookie and they couldn't do anything about warm and fresh so they made them soft, so not warm, not fresh but they are soft. MY mom used to make great cookies that were wonderful warm fresh and soft, but when they got cool and harder they were still WONDERFUL. Industrial cookies can be good but the stuff they add to make them soft removes the wonderful I think.
I've tried these and they're truly awful "cookies." I've never seen anyone complain about a soft, chewy cookie before..
These cookies are a gift that keeps on giving. Bet the toots were epic afterwards. Hope you've all recovered. You gotta ease into these cookies.
Lenny & Larry's Snickerdoodle: "As far as sand goes its pretty good!"
Lads on the left and ladies on the right - one of the few times I favour the right....but maybe that's just me....
Good job with a not-so-inspiring "treat" - everyone gave good feedback and made it into a fun time for all of us - thanks!
I'm so happy to see Nicole again! I missed you!!!!!
I love these especially the snickerdoodle one, yes they are more like a cake/protein bar than an actual crunchie cookie, if you go in expecting that you won't be disappointed
Snickerdoodles are my favorite cookie, though I've never had this brand.
I guess the TRY channel has never heard of Soft Baked cookies.
Maybe embrace the future, lads and lasses.😁😜
I don't think people who dislike these understand, they're not meant to be a sweet treat like a real cookie. They're. A supplement for when you need a quick bit of protein and dietary fiber. It is to fill you up in a pinch. Sure, some can be dry but again, it isn't a sugar loaded cookie. It is a healthier alternative.
Who remembers Archway cookies? The Wall St "geniuses" destroyed Archway.
Great to see Nicole again!
I actually really love these! They are sort of like a meal replacement for hectic days when you literally don't have time to eat. The birthday cake ones are the worst, but somehow also the most addictive 🤷
Martin making Stonehenge from a Snickerdoodle is hilarious!
Stating this before watching the vid:
I once had one of these a long time ago. I was in a hury and hungry after class but had to drive somewhere and just grabbed the first thing from the school food shop. When I finally looked at it:
1. I saw it was egg, sugar, nut and dairy free.
2. This lead me to wonder what it was made of
3. I took a bite and learned it was made of sawdust
4. I threw it at some ducks cause I wasn't *that* hungry
5. The ducks sniffed it and went back to eating worms and bugs
Not only do they not taste good they don't have much protein. There are much better tasting protein bars with more protein
Great fun! I am not at all sure about protein “cookies” myself so this was very interesting. Wonder if Len & Larry actually have a cookie line and it was this that Callyann was initially excited about! Props to Martin for his very, very funny protein Stonehenge!
I used to eat them when they were discounted in a store. The lemon one was tasty
I've never heard of these, but Quest Protein Cookies are damn good. 15g of protein and only 250calories. Those are really good.
Remember protein alternatives won't ever been as good as the real unhealthy alternative, but as long as its a 7/10 or 8/10 and is enough to keep your cravings at bay you're good.
Man did Callyann look classy in that blazer, and with that hair , green is her color. Good to see Martin for a change, funny guy.
I buy these when I’m in the airport. I’ve had to run from one plane to another without much time in between. So these are great when you don’t have time for a meal and have only had the tiny airplane snacks. 😂
A true snickerdoodle is the king of all cookies.
Oh I missed Nicole so much!!! 💕
Yay, Nicole’s there today!!!!
I've had these - once. Never again. I'll make my own at home so I can eat the dough AND the baked cookies.
You need to put Martin and Justine together again, they both have an amazing chemistry.
Why can't a cookie be soft? Warm, just out of the oven chocolate chip cookies are great. Those big oatmeal cookies are too, you guys are missing out!
Still, another great video though. Feel like I haven't seen Nicole in a while, so that was great too!
We Americans definitely prefer our cookies softer.
Nicole! Good to see you!
Many Americans prefer soft cookies. I myself make homemade cookies so that they will be soft and chewy rather than hard.
Great to see Nicole back.
I had not known that soft cookies were only a thing here in the US?
Growing up, I agree with the folks below. Homemade were always soft. If you went to the store, their cookies would be hard. There are a few hard cookies I like but I prefer the big soft ones. Pepperidge Farm has a variety of types, but I do really like their soft cookies.
There is a long proud tradition in the USA of having both crunchy cookies AND soft-baked cookies available for a myriad of tastes. Degustibus non disputandum est.
These cookies are endorsed by two dancers who aren’t jacked but are high energetic performers due to that reason why they could endorse these for other dancers & perhaps those who don’t need a lot of protein intake like BodyBuilders etc per-meal
So glad to see Martin again!
Did you measure the Tryers arms after the bulking season
Nice to see Nicole again! She's a kick.
at 4:46, what did she say ?
Hey there! Just to clarify, Callyann at 4:46 says "Now you're, you're gonna have a jawline out to here!" - we can assure you, as we were there on the day it was filmed! 😁
@@TheTRYChannel Thanks, Callie says only happy thoughts.
It just sounds like a scene from Blazing Saddles.
"Wha-? a cookie plant?" Dónal is so adorable
YAY!! All my favourite triers!!!
"A snickerdoodle sounds like a German dog" OMG it DOES! Hahaha!!!
Callyann got the look fancy memo so she could match Martin.
2 class acts at the table
Crunchy cookies are the stale, over cooked kind. Soft means baked to perfection.
4:46
what was said here, it's so quick!
love the vid y'all~
Right?! The look are Martins face says it all.
Hey there! Just to clarify, Callyann at 4:46 says "Now you're, you're gonna have a jawline out to here!" - we were there when it was filmed, so trust us, it was exactly that! 😁
After listening to it on headphones a few times, it’s her accent and stuttering on the word gunna. It’s actually kind of funny that it sounds so bad, when it wasn’t at all. But it totally sounds bad at first. ;)
She just droppin big words at 4:46 or what?
Hey there! Just to clarify, Callyann at 4:46 says "Now you're, you're gonna have a jawline out to here!" - we were there when it was filmed, so trust us, it was exactly that! 😁
I see these all the time at by the checkout counters (tills). Never got one, but pleased to see try channel have them. Kinda feeling justified now.
Love these. Crunchy cookies are biscuits. Crunchy cookies are a crime against humanity.
Do they have soft cookies in Ireland? Not all cookies are crunchy.
The Salted Caramel and the Birthday Cake are the best but I love all Lenny&Larry’s cookies
I literally just bought a box of these st costco the other day.. I love them, I really think they are a healthier replacement for my sweet tooth :)
Same reason I use them. I preferred the crunchy cookies
@@cynthiafulbright7389 my box didn't come with the crunchy, I will definitely be on the look out for them this is the first time I have encountered the brand
Shannon looks like the Irish Belinda Carlisle, and I'm here for it.
Wow did I hear what I thought I heard at 4:46?
I think you might be right.😬
@@LindaC616 yeah, I heard it too.
I heard it too
Hey there! Just to clarify, Callyann at 4:46 says "Now you're, you're gonna have a jawline out to here!" - we can assure you, as we were there on the day it was filmed! 😁
@@TheTRYChannel I don't know man, it kinda sounds like she said the other thing.
I eat these when I want something sweet and just replace a meal. AMAZING company!
4:45 get those gains, what?
I think y’all have a different definition for cookie than we do
Shannon on fire with the giggity moments in this one
"It's just missing a layer of tasty white stuff"
"When she comes"
Lol Americans like our soft baked cookies.
Favorites are apple pie, peanut butter (warning: choking hazard) and double chocolate. The big 16g protein ones.
I love warming the apple pie one up a bit and then adding butter. So amazing. But I've found the oatmeal raisin to be the most reliably moist.
NICOLE IS BACK !! 🙌🏿
I don't think so. The partition is up so it was probably filmed before she moved
Nicole's back!!!!
Biscuits v. Cookies. Biscuits are expected to have a crisp snap (per GBBO) and cookies (US) are soft, bendy and have no snap. Tadaaaah! 🍪🍪🍪
Cookies here can be soft baked like the ones in this video or crunchy if packaged store bought like Oreo's and Chips Ahoy. So your explanation of them being soft and bendy in the US isn't correct.
Those cookies are LEGEND!
so damn good
It's just weird people thinking cookies HAVE to be hard/dry/crispy. If your cookies are any of those you need to learn how to not over cook your cookies and to add more butter.
I was going say blame Maryland cookies but then I googled it and they're a UK brand not actually American. Basically all cookies (and cookies applies specifically to chocolate chip and similar - everything else is a biscuit) that you buy in supermarkets etc here are hard a crispy. You might get a soft style one in a bakery or similar but generally they're an American thing and not big here. I think the Tollhouse one McDonalds used to do might have been soft but it's been years so I could be wrong.
I'm a simple man, I see Nicole back on the channel and I click like
Partition being there a means that it was probably filmed way back when maybe before she moved. Check and see if anyone has a tan
I didn't expect a Belle Delphine shout out in a try video. Ahegao was the word Dónal was looking for..
If these cookies were the only remaining food on earth I'd eat them, but I wouldn't be excited about it.
They didn’t read my note or notice the cookies are vegan or super healthy. Slightly disappointed. But love that Callyann mistook these cookies for something else.
Well the real snickerdoodle cookies are truly amazing.
I go for the white chocolate macadamia one, because it's vegan and a good amount of protein. They're just so dense, I can only eat 1/2 at a time.
Hey from Norristown pa - 🤣I seriously just saw these today at the sunco today & I pick it up look straight at the cal info saw 100 cals per pack n thought abt it like idk if they even good but. I wonder has anyone tasted them n here u guys go trying them how weird !!
Yay!!! Nicole and Martin....not together but still 2 of my faves
The chocolate chip one just tastes like someone threw a scoop of protein powder in it, so if you already don't like protein shakes, these won't be much different.
Love this cookie my favorite is the snickerdoodle
I love Shannon's colorful shirt and her Mickey Mouse ears hairdo! Her style is as fun as she seems to be!
now now remember in other countries most times cookies are crunchy, so its not surprizing that they wouldnt like a chewy cookie like we have learned to love in the US. but yes a chewy cookie is common, and most times you CAN find a crunchy alternative in the same brand of the same flavors. but MOST protein cookies are soft chew ones because of the ingredients in them
L&L's cookies can definitely be an acquired taste, since I know a lot of people who don't like the taste/texture of various protein bars/shakes/what have you. I love the cookies, though! I got to try a bunch of their flavors since we used to sell them where I work, and my favorites are the double chocolate, lemon poppyseed, and coconut chocolate chip. They make a nice change of pace once in a while from my usual protein bars for breakfast.
What decade is your sweatshirt from Shannon?
Callyann is Ireland's Finest Export~!!!
4:39 huh!? A cookie plant?? 😂😂😂
in america alot of us prefer the soft bake cookies. always only got chips ahoy chewy, anything else is cough cough crumbs explosion cx
