Ah yes, this video highlights so well how utterly stupid and harmful some of our laws are. Everyone gets told its illegal and bad to help wild animals. Yet when you do, and it requires actual funding to help them, government goes NOPE to money, so the injured ones get their version of the gas chamber. Instead of allowing them to heal and be taken in by people that could very well care for them... We rather boost populations of "exotic" animals imported from other countries than I own wildlife as we ruin ecosystems. Meanwhile practically every animal that goes into human care gets a much longer lifespan, flourishes in population, and overall just needs extra education to understand like any pet. Such a great liberal made law from 1914 that we must follow...
Mad respect for showing the truth behind what really goes on rehabbing animals even at the sake of less views.. As someone who has lived on a farm and tried rescuing every sick/injured creature I've come across... there's been many animals I've had to bury after 100s even thousands of $s and weeks of trying to save them to no avail.😔 I remember every single one I've lost.. but the ones who make it are the ones I cherish. @@lala_lakeypoo When I had tadpoles I just had them in a 10 gallon tank with algae. They mostly eat algae and you can also feed them some flaky fish food. Just get a net and put them in a tank with some of the water from the pool, they should be fine as long as the water stays nice and green with algae. You can also get some water plants like duckweed and watercress like I did to provide them shelter and a place to climb onto once they start growing their legs. I never read anything on tadpoles so you should do your own research to make sure this is all fine but it worked out for my little pacific tree frogs from a couple years ago. :)

Hey Uncle Ben, those clusters of pink eggs are from an Apple Snail. They have both gills and lungs, which is pretty cool. There are a few genera native to the southern U.S. and that along with the egg clusters narrows it down to Pomacea or Asolene.

Rare to see, so a young person, applying such knowledge and wisdom to protect his huge heart. The practice of acceptance and appropriate expectation, keeps you mentally well. You'll do the greatest good, for the longest time. Love what you do!
TY for keeping it as real as you can. My daughter keeps saying she wants to be a vet and I keep telling her that she's going to have to deal with A LOT of death. She's still young so not sure if that has sunken in yet for her. Anyway. That lil owl was so cute. Poor thing. I hope it pulls through. And Big Ounce always makes me happy with his yahoos.
Yeah, i love animals and when i was little i wanted to be a vet too but because i thought it was just being with animals and taking care of them but then growing up i understood how sad being a vet would be because i just cant stand seeing animals in pain... a good option i guess could be a dog groomer if she loves animals
I also wanted to be a vet when I was young because of how connected I feel to animals. When I got older I realized that I love animals too much to be a vet. I ultimately know that dealing with that much death would crush my mental fortitude. I have incredible respect to Vets that can handle the work, and it's painful to know how much they have to harden their hearts some times.

Just hearing why he wants to rehab and he thoughts on it was so nice, Uncle Ben cares about these animals and the environment so much and we need more people like him.

Very awesome to see you taking some of the pressure off of these older and more established rescues by taking some animals in need off of their hands. This channel is reaching new heights of cool and satisfying to watch. Keep up the great work Uncle Ben!
I truly hope more people get inspired to become rehabbers while understanding the more real and sadder parts that come along with the profession. While getting the financial and equipment support they deserve. I say this as a shelter worker, we don't just get dogs and cats. We get exotics like hawks, aquatics, opossums, pigs, etc, as well. The sheer overwhelming number of animals, lack of space, rampant disease outbreaks, and lack of vets/rehabbers puts us all in constant desperate and stressful conditions. Thank you, Uncle ben, for doing what you do! Hopefully, more will follow in your footsteps.

This was a very wholesome video bro, much love to you and all who work so hard in animal rehabilitation day and night to help these animals. We need more people like you guys on this planet.
I believe those pink eggs you saw early in the video all around the pond are actually giant apple snail (Pomacea maculata) eggs. They are an invasive species from South America and are super hard to control. They are popular in the aquarium trade and were introduced through improper aquarium dumping. We have been seeing them in Louisiana for quite a while now and it looks like they are here to stay. As far as i know, the only thing that eats them are limpkins which are also a non native species that we are starting to see on the west side of the state in the sabine wma and lacassine wma. Thanks again for all the educational videos Ben!

Ben, you're a true blessing from the Lord! This was an awesome vid! I'm a retired vet. tech. (20yrs). Also had the blessings of working with wildlife rehab. in Az. Many do think, it's about playing with animals all day. NO. The stuff I've seen, the countless paws & tears I've shed. From old, old beloved pets to young being euthanized. And the HAPPY endings too. It like nursing is a calling! From an ole granny, you are a breath of fresh air, you keep me in stiches! Thank you & may God Almighty continue to bless your life!
„…I’m just gonna become a villain and start hoarding lemurs“ made me laugh more than it should have😂 But on a more serious note props to uncle Ben for always keeping it real when it comes to the reality of wildlife rehab
I honestly watch this channel for mainly to watch the rescue ranch grow and thrive, and I also love the educational aspects of the channel. The humor and lore is simply a great side addition to the channel for me.
Thank you for doing what many of us wish we could do for our earth family, in regards to rehabilitation and the emotional toll of seeing pain and suffering firsthand 💗😭 much love and respect
Being a shelter volunteer myself, I want to thank you for what you and vet techs do overall. I've seen some miraculous recoveries thanks to your hard, often heartbreaking work, especially when it comes to cats & dogs that were hit by vehicles, or were abused prior to arrival. I hope that animal welfare is taken much more seriously as the years go by, so that the bad cases become less and less for us *all.*
Big Ounce is your spirit animal at this point, he loves to be with you, and with how long he's been with you he probably has started learning what some of your words mean.
I love this channel. I wish you had the ability to upload more often, but I understand the fact you are running an entire wildlife center and working to get a ton of rehab tickets. Keep doing the good work man
Usually just a lurker but what you said made me want to comment. Thank you for showing so much of the harder, less popular, side of what you do. I fully understand not wanting to show every little detail and also trying to avoid running into issues either legally or with youtube but as much as you feel you can is really appreciated.
I am a recent subscriber but your channel is one of my favorites. The diversity of the animals you care for as well as your enthusiasm and joy while taking care of them is so heart warming to see and makes my day everytime you post. As a marine life advocate I greatly appritiate and am very entertained by your documentation of the good, the bad, and the messy parts. Please never stop teaching us about the effort that goes into these types of facilities including the breaks, bleeds, and injuries these animals come in with due to human impact. It's super important people know we effect our enviroment and do our best to minamize harm!
It's true that Big Ounce and the Capys had me clicking Uncle Ben's videos in the first place, but now I'm here for him just as much as I am them. Thank you for all the work you do, for the animals who need it, and us viewers who feel joy just from watching.
in a similar vein to Vets, I would assume Wildlife Rehabbing is an incredibly stressful job, and takes a heavy toll on the worker's mental health. Not everyone can handle the realities of adorable creatures facing euthanisation everyday, and I have a huge respect for those who can handle it. So Mr. Rescue Ranch, I hope you're doing okay. You put on a smile for us, and it seems so natural an environment for you, but you have to take care of yourself too, okay? Don't go pushing yourself further than you can handle. loves yah
im glad Uncle Ben told the truth about animal rehabilitation centers i remember when i wanted to work in one when I was younger and my mom (who did worked in one) told me that if you truly love animals, you had to be prepare to euthanize about half you see many people are under the impression that it’s simply a daycare but its really serious and its takes a strong will and devotion to work in those facilities
Can't get enough of this channel, the personalities of all the animals is magnificent and Uncle Ben, well he just compliments them all absolutely perfectly
It’s Crazy how far the ranch has gotten, I still remember when the weird sitting area with the monkey painting existed! So proud of big ounce for making so much progress
Although I really don't want Ben to lose the permits he's been working extremely hard for, a part of me also wants to see his villain arc where he basically just owns a zoo with animals you don't need permits for.
I don't usually comment at all on any video really, but I wanted to say that this format or this video in general was perfect, and I think it's a great display of the content that you create. It was a perfect mix of memes, humour, Big Ounce, but also serious stuff, and interesting content on how wildlife rehabbing actually works. Please keep making more content, myself and so many others live for it 😄.
As someone who has been watching this channel almost from the beginning I completely agree. This video is a perfect mix of entertainment and education :)
I actually enjoy uncle ben showing actual rehab instead of just kevin, big ounce, and the capys, i find it way more entertaining seeing how they actually go about rehab

(Also Big ounce falling off the couch was very funny, what a perfect little creature)
This
Ah yes, this video highlights so well how utterly stupid and harmful some of our laws are.
As someone who has lived on a farm and tried rescuing every sick/injured creature I've come across... there's been many animals I've had to bury after 100s even thousands of $s and weeks of trying to save them to no avail.😔
I remember every single one I've lost.. but the ones who make it are the ones I cherish.
You're truly doing the lords work Uncle Rescuer Ben.
Thank you ❤
Also any tips for rescuing tadpoles froma Kiddie pool left sitting out too long? 😅
algee
@@lala_lakeypoo or just put them ina pond any one
@@lala_lakeypoo When I had tadpoles I just had them in a 10 gallon tank with algae. They mostly eat algae and you can also feed them some flaky fish food. Just get a net and put them in a tank with some of the water from the pool, they should be fine as long as the water stays nice and green with algae. You can also get some water plants like duckweed and watercress like I did to provide them shelter and a place to climb onto once they start growing their legs. I never read anything on tadpoles so you should do your own research to make sure this is all fine but it worked out for my little pacific tree frogs from a couple years ago. :)
Thank you as welll
Let’s just appreciate Kevin, the unsung hero. Is he a doofus? Yeah maybe. Does he literally bite the hand that feeds him? Yes. Do his attacks upset Uncle Ben? Yeah sometimes. However does he entertain us? Yes! Is he great at protecting the farm? Yes! Do we love him even with his flaws? Absolutely!
Keep being you Kevin, in any other situation you wouldn’t be allowed to due to well… you know.

Uncle Ben being serious has my utmost respect.
Hey Uncle Ben, those clusters of pink eggs are from an Apple Snail. They have both gills and lungs, which is pretty cool. There are a few genera native to the southern U.S. and that along with the egg clusters narrows it down to Pomacea or Asolene.
They’re invasive in Texas

I thought they were apple snails Lol, they are a highly destructive invasive species in Texas. Ben should definitely let his friend know!

I have incredible respect to Vets that can handle the work, and it's painful to know how much they have to harden their hearts some times.
this was a good episode. A lot of episodes it is hard to see the ben behind the mask of an entertainer but in this one we saw the responsible, truly caring, and wildly willing to work ben that is actually running the place when he's not being a 1337 pog fellow
love these much more
I absolutely love the meme references and comedy that uncle ben uses in all of his videos and it always brightens up my day, but seeing ben being more serious when talking about rehabbing and taking care of these animals was something i didn't know that i needed.

I really feel this as a vet tech. Some days are real bad and we see some really bad stuff, but the lives that we are able to save makes it worth it.
Uncle Ben is awesome his compassion for the wildlife is unmatched by anyone I've ever seen
Thank you for letting us see incredible animal rehabilitation, you are truly one of the best channels on TH-cam.
Big Ounce is your spirit animal at this point, he loves to be with you, and with how long he's been with you he probably has started learning what some of your words mean.

Thank you for showing so much of the harder, less popular, side of what you do. I fully understand not wanting to show every little detail and also trying to avoid running into issues either legally or with youtube but as much as you feel you can is really appreciated.
Big Ounce is a gift from heaven. He never fails to make me smile.
Don't go pushing yourself further than you can handle. loves yah

im glad Uncle Ben told the truth about animal rehabilitation centers
i remember when i wanted to work in one when I was younger and my mom (who did worked in one) told me that if you truly love animals, you had to be prepare to euthanize about half you see
many people are under the impression that it’s simply a daycare but its really serious and its takes a strong will and devotion to work in those facilities

Those pink things are a type of snail egg and they're VERY invasive. You should crush them when ever you see them.
Although I really don't want Ben to lose the permits he's been working extremely hard for, a part of me also wants to see his villain arc where he basically just owns a zoo with animals you don't need permits for.
