Got a '17 Red Sport TwinTurbo. I've added a Burger cold intake, + a special MagnaFlow exhaust, then did an optimized Tune that maximizes overall Boost. A few other mods that I wont go into...but my RedSport TT now is pumping out closer to 500hp to the wheel so you can figure out the torque figures yourselves. Im a Porsche guy who has a GT2 RS so I get it; this Infi Q60RedSportTT is now a beast and the best daily driver I have. Better than my Targa and thats hard for me to say.
One thing I like about the VQ is that because of the greater displacement you can achieve the same hp levels with less boost, good for reliability and longevity.
Exactly!!! He said himself he modified his VQ the wrong way & never got it right of course he going to chose 3.0 lol would his opinion be different if he supercharged or TT the VQ in the first place ?? I think it would! VQ is going to be more reliable in the long run period I'm sorry I just can't agree with him!! Its VQ all day 💯💯
@@EnthusiastPOV I think if you go that high, to 650 hp, there's no way to avoid a significant loss of reliability/longevity in that engine. Nissan states that you can go as high as 450 crank hp without needing to do any strengthening mods, so we may be looking at about a 5 psi boost level in manifold pressure as a limit for an engine that's to have a long life.
Agreed 100%, I had both platforms as well the 3.0 is def a better daily driver with all the extra torque and down low power. But, the 3.7 revs and goes stronger at highway speeds.
I’m on the other side of the spectrum w my NA V8 on my FBO ISF. I love this car, but I’m looking at the q60 for my next car in a couple of years and I like to do my research beforehand (Did 2 years of research before pulling the trigger on the F). It was between the Q60RS and the RCF, but after reading up on the 3.0 engine and then coming to your videos, the RS is no longer in one of my choices, now between the 3.0 vs RCF, but with the money savings from the 3.0, I can use to match (if not exceed) the RCF’s 460 horse. And still have a good amount of money leftover. So thank you again for sharing your experience! If all goes through well, it’ll be my first Infiniti.
That would be a great setup, but it would kick the GT-R's ass and Nissan would lose sales on it. Actually, I think a great setup for the Z would be to stick with a lightweight N/A V-6, or V-8, and go for a displacement increase to get hp levels to about 400 at the crank. I like the greater simplicity, reliability and lower weight of a N/A engine. Nissan did a great job in producing a very efficient and sophisticated V-6 in making the VQ37VHR, they could continue the refinement process on it for the next gen Z.
@@videomaniac108 that costs just as much as slapping on a twin turbo kit or supercharger kit and the resulting power upgrade will not be as much. It will be a better drive though. There are so many charged kits for the vq37 that are simple to install it makes life easy.
I went from a N54 e92 335i coupe to a VQ37VHR G37 coupe and I actually like the VQ better because of reliability and I think it drives better even though the N54 FBO was fast, I still havent modified the G37 yet tho but I like the stock version better then stock 335i for sure now I'm curious to see how it drives with a supercharger then I'll get a better perspective
Great content and step by step direction on how to increase horsepower. Will be working on the my 3.0 t cooling system first before moving on to the lower down pipes and exhaust.
Simple Vq37 more reliable, longer history than VR literally bulletproof, makes good power out of factory but expensive to mod even with tune you won’t push over 400hp with full bolt ons maybe if you build the internals you can get close to 400hp but it’s so limited unless you boost but that can get very expensive as well. VR Well it’s a newer engine, not as reliable, heatsoaking but makes great power when modded. It still has a long way to go and it’s going to get better or worst who knows. Also expensive to mod you for the money you make better power than the VQ with just simple bolt ons.
Former Maxima owner here also! 2002 SE 6-Speed. And a 1990 Maxima back in the mid 90s. Stepped up to a G8 after the Maxima. Sold 2002 Maxima. Now looking into a Q50. Keeping G8 tho (Will be supercharged soon). Hitting the plateau of performance is the reason why I sold my 2002 Maxima. Q50 Red Sport is what Im looking at. Will be FBO modded and tuned...
Should've kept the maxipad Second gen vq swap maxima would be faster due to lighter body (2-400 lbs lighter) Have you seen the 700hp maxima tuned by admin?
Im late to this But you weren’t even close to hitting the Maximas peak. Those cars can be boosted from 3-5k and make some numbers. The 02 Maxima was literally ALOT cheaper to modify than your G8 and your Q50 but congrats on the cars you have cause they’re nice too
Really appreciate your videos bro! And keep up the hard work and educate the Infiniti community, I have an 08 g35 sedan (vq35hr) and I am purchasing a q60 very soon, thanks to your videos just waiting on the right one. I’m planning on shipping an AWD model to California.
Great video, you answered all my questions and made it simple straight to the point,I drive the 3.7 and the 3.0 the other day I liked the 3.0 the most and you just made me make my decision.
I just bought a 2017 rwd 3.0t premium white package. Leaving everything stock except for the exterior. Maybe buy bc coilovers Definitely keeping up with oil changes
I have a stock '15 Q60 redsport. I havent put a single mod on it yet. My favorite thing is driving down the freeway at 60 and putting it to the floor and being at 120 in 2.5 seconds and watching the cars that were next to you become dots in the mirror
You're a fucking idiot, first year of the new Q60(non G37 body) was 2017, and the first year of the Q50 was 2016 and neither one, no matter what model will do 60-120 in anywhere near 2.5 seconds, it takes a C7 ZR1 corvette over double that time to do 60-120. If we're talking KM/H then maybe, but you're obviously full of shit and thought no one would notice so no point in even caring at this point.
@@NALOW84 so dipshit, i put a video up on my channel just for you. Also you have to be told dipshit to think that I wasnt just fucking saying numbers. I said 2.5 sec cause 1.5 wasnt available. Ass. Hurry up and go check it out soon so you feel like a total dipshit in front of everybody for not knowing shit
I own a 40th anniversary manual, sports package 370z, and I love it. But a buddy of mine has a q50 and buddy they RIIIP. No doubt they're both great cars
Good video! And yes, Infinity _did_ leave a lot on the table by detuning the motor to 300hp. In Japan, the q50 is called the Nissan skyline and it's offered in 2 versions I believe: 3.0 making 300hp, and 3.0 making 400hp just by a tune. Pus I think this is the motor going in the next "400z" so modders about to go crazy with the 3.0 soon.
I have a '13 Maxima and had an '03 M45 a while back. I want to move back to Infiniti and like you I am looking at the Q50 or Q60. I've been seeing some 2018 Q50 lower-end models coming in under $30K even with the 3.0t. (Not even remotely interested in the 2.0t) I was wondering why they are going for so cheap. Some 2014-2015 models (unless they have high miles) are still more expensive than the newer Q50s and I can't seem to find out why in my research. The biggest difference between the updated versions is the engine. So I'm wondering if that is the reason for the lower asking rate for the 2017-2018 models? Having had my Maxima for 3 years now, I know Nissan can build a very reliable naturally-aspirated V6. I'm not so sure about turbo engines. Now, with the low asking rate for the Q50 3.0t, I'm even more concerned. I know you haven't had the 3.0t too long but what is your opinion regarding reliability so far vs. the 3.7? My biggest concern is over the long haul. I plan to keep my next car for at least 5 or so years. Right now, the 3.0t engine is still fairly new so there's nothing to go by if it will go the distance like the naturally-aspirated ones have. EDIT: Let me clarify, all the Q50's I've been looking at are USED, even the 2018s.
Sold my q50 fbo except for stock turbos on e50 but I did not liked the slow tranny which made it slow compared to other cars in same mods. Turbos started smoking when i added the full downpipes, and just to replace those suckers you need to drop the subframe with engine and tranny. Car made 490hp/550tq, if you are looking for a really fast car just get a supra, throw a downpipe and ecutek and you are set. Got myself a 370z and I really don’t miss the power and i know I won’t be spending 5k on mew turbos or replacing the freaking belt. Overall transmission and turbos are the biggest negatives.
It's VQ all day !!! 💯💯💯 especially for reliability!!!! Got me a g37 coupe now from a BMW 335i with n54 and I don't miss the turbo problems at all!! Going VQ all naturally aspirated is the best decision I ever made!!!! 💯💯💯
Are the Q50/Q60's with the VR30DDTT offered with a MANUAL transmission??? Why is nobody talking about the Transmission??? Is the 7-spd Auto any good???
I'm concerned with the possible problem of carbon coking on the intake valves and ports of the VR30DDTT due to its GDI system on a turbo engine. Would that necessitate something like a walnut shell blasting of the intake ports every 30K miles or so? I know that VW and BMW were having problems with this on their GDI turbo engines.
Yes I had to walnut blast my 335i n54 engine and it was costly when the wastegate rattle and turbo leaks came in, I've since switched to VQ37VHR G37 coupe and I couldn't be more happier now just waiting to supercharge or TT it 💯💯💯
I did a 4 wheel Alignment on a 2015 370Z Nismo with some Custom Exhaust, Toke it for a Test Drive for the First Time, I had no idea it was a 3.7 700hp GTR Killer
I generally agree with what’s said. However, having raced tuned turbo Q’s with my very mildly boosted G and after the Q’s initial half to car length lead out of the hole, my G will walk the Q badly. By around 200 ft I will have 2 cars on the Q. And I spent right around 2200 is all, for the mods for it. Plus, I don’t have to worry about reliability issues with this motor. I’m sure the new turbo 3.0’s will be reliable, but it’s not known for sure, yet.
A bolted/tuned torquey VR30 would definitely have a significant advantage off the jump, but even a "conservatively boosted" VQ37 with stock internals would take a VR30 into "deep waters" and drown it.
Well considering you can find a nice 3.7 example for $15,000 and a new 3.0t will cost you between $50,000-60,000 I say the 3.7 hands down, also if you really need to you can turbo it or put a stillen supercharger for a few grand and smoke anything
@Midwest Hoonigan Great video. A shop has done a swap of the 3.7 to 3.0 on a 370Z and I'm researching on doing the same but my only concern would be difficulty with keeping AC and power steering since I'd like an OEM feel and experience with the car. With your experience with both platforms, would you say the two are distant relatives or is the layout almost identical with exception of the turbo and heat exchanger components?
I love your videos! I recently bought a used 2016 Q50 Premium with 40k miles on it and I'm loving it! I got one question though, is a BOV really necessary? I've been browsing through VR30 videos on TH-cam and most of them recommend getting a BOV as a mandatory upgrade due to this platform not having any. My plan is to at least push 400hp or less since this is my daily driver & only car. Or what upgrades do you recommend?
Can't say I've ever experienced heat soak symptoms with my '16 RS but I've been seeing a lot of AMS heat exchanger thumbnails. Do you think that's a worth-while upgrade for the RS given that the RS has the upgraded cooling out of the box? Would one feel a big difference? Also, do you dealerships honor warranties on cars with heat exchanger upgrades? An important thing for me is that I have bumper-to-bumper warranty for 7yrs/100K, but I do love me some speed.
The turbos on the new Q50 isn’t tried and true yet. Meanwhile we had the 3.7 liter for over a decade and has been Lexus like reliable. Why would Infiniti go away from the natural aspirated engine is beyond me. I have a 2010 g37x and it has been a gem.
I feel the same!!! I went from BMW e92 335i coupe with n54 which is twin turbo and switched it for a G37 coupe and I definitely say the naturally aspirated is definitely far more reliable and it also sound and drive better then 335i , yea you can get power for cheap but the main❤was a nightmare!! Turbos are problematic in the long run once the turbo leaks and wastegate rattles come your in for thousands on repairs unless your a mechanic lol I went from TT to naturally aspirated VQ and never looked back, if your looking for proven reliability it's VQ all day I'm sorry!! Just put the TT on the VQ and tell me what's better then LoL that's a easy one!! VQ❤❤❤
@@50shades_of_memez that makes a lot of sense ! A question to you : If I don't have access to a VQ37 ((yet) or VR30DETT, but my playground Is literally littered with : VG30DET, VG30DETT, VG33, ..... VQ - 20(FWD), 23(FWD), 25(FWD/ RWD out of a nissan Stegea which comes 4WD/AWD), 30 (FWD/RWD), 30DET (RWD NEO), 35(FWD and the RWD out of a nissan England which is taller and also comes 4WD) and I can get pistons, rids & bearings out of the Honda K20A block...... isn't there something I can do or create(Frankenstein) to become relivant in this VQ universe ???
It's all about maintenance, always change the oil, transmission, rear diff,(front diff&transfer case/awd) & coolant at the proper intervals. Change spark plugs and timing chain/belts every 30k-60k. Just depends as each engine is different so keep up with the FSM. The VR30DDTT has a belt, the VQ has a chain. A belt doesn't necessarily mean it's inferior to a timing chain. The VG30DETT in the 300zxTT had a belt as well, its FWD variant the VE30DE has a timing chain. It's genuinely a little easier to replace timing belts as they have easier access since they are often changed more frequently than timing chains. It can be a p.i.t.a. to change a timing chain in a VQ. But it's not that difficult. A lot of ppl neglect to do this maintenance after their warranties are up. It's the one downside in purchasing a used car. For the most part you're more likely to have a better maintained engine with an Infiniti than a Z. The Z would likely be owned by someone a lot younger who beat it all to hell. Infiniti owners for the most part tend to be older and could afford to properly maintain the car even after the warranty was up. They also weren't racing everyone they could. I don't know about the VQ37VHR'S as I only have the 2nd gen VQ35DE. But mine is at 206k and it's as strong and reliable as ever. It was well maintained, I can only second guess when the timing chain was changed. The timing guide tensioners were it's weak point. But it should of been taken care of during the recall. Timing chains can last the entire life of the engine well past 200k. I figure my engine had everything replace between the 80k-120k range. If not, than it's still going strong. I just replaced valve covers and gaskets and there was no sludge on the inside of the covers. No burnt oil residue either. The cams looked great, rockers were clean, valve bodies clean, etc. When I took the plenum off it had minimal oil residue, which I eliminated any further build up with a catch can. The valves were surprisingly clean as well when I looked down the intake manifold. So my analysis was that it was taken care of fairly well. I could also tell that the majority of it's miles were all highway miles based off clues from the wear and tear of the interior parts. I'm highly confident that this engine will still have plenty of life left in it. I'm hoping I can get it to 300k as I don't plan on ever selling it. I'll eventually save up for a Q60 myself, and I'll do a swap for the G35X I currently have. I'd like a more unique sedan build. Only a few have done it for Formula D drifting events. Anyways Nissan's are highly reliable but so are just about any other platform. Well not all are built equal so I take that back. Then again it could also just be the luck of the draw. Could just end up with not necessarily a lemon, but just one that falls apart for whatever reason. I've had an 02 Z28 Camaro that was at 215k when I sold it. It was still running strong, but I babied that thing. Then I've also owned a 95 BMW M3 and it started falling apart on me at 165k. Which is why a lot of ppl are hesitant in purchasing such a high mileage vehicle. I don't even consider 80k to be high mileage. Anything under 160k is mid range for me. If they can provide maintenance records than hell yeah even better. You'll know that you'll get another 5-10yrs out of it if it's a Nissan. So if you get one that's under 70k, then you could have a reliable car for the next 10-20yrs easily. One things for sure, it'll definitely hold it's value. Hell I see 16yr old Infiniti G35s going for 3k-6k all day. They go for even more if they are 06-08 VQ35HR's.
I have a 02 Maxima with a 3.5 and a 6 speed. all the bolt ons with ECU refash and Helical LSD made a big difference . my girl has a G37 coupe that I use sometimes so I want a G35 or G37 sedan next..
I prefer turbo....Always here.....I love the VQ but I need the twin turbos.......I just bought a 17 3.0t awd.....My first Infinity and I love it so far.....It's stock but has a 3" MBRP dual exhaust

MAN!!,, that was some really great information bro. You definitely answered most of my questions surrounding my 2016 q50 PREMIUM. I am new to the infinity game and so far I have been vary satisfied. After owning a Altima for more than 6 years with more than 240 thousand miles and still pushing with no mods In which I currently handed down to my son. I recently transformed over into the infiniti game within the last 5 months and again I am truly-satisfied. I recently reached out to boot in motion concerning my oil turning black so soon. He responded in the twin turbos may be a cause of this. But anyhow. I do notice that Q50 idles a bit more loudly than the Altima. but again, you stated that this may be due to the direct fuel injectors which makes sense. I own the 2016 Q50 premium model, Now would this be considered a type of sport?? I would also like to do a couple of modifications but have no clue were to start. Maybe you can recommend some more of your videos. I was thinking to start with some down pipes only because I love that beefy sound, than again being in Cali that would be kinda of a hassle when I have smog unless I figure a way to pass! Plus after you speaking about upper and full down pipes in another videos of yours I'm not sure what to do. Anyways thanks for the info, Hope to hear back soon. and hopefully I can reach out to you for any of my questions or info I may need about my Q50. thanks
Thank you for taking the time to give me such a detailed response I’m glad you’re now in the Infiniti platform. The oil turning dark is a very common question and there’s hardly anything wrong with it. Above all oil is a lubricant but also a cleanser. Heat can make fluids turn dark very quickly and with oil it’s no different. When you see oil with a dark tint it just means it’s doing it’s job. Now if it’s sludge or very dense, you have a different issue. The VR30 idles very loudly do to the DI system, completely normal.
Enthusiast POV Cool thanks man! And what would you recommend as far as the first Modification for my Q50? I was thinking lower down pipes but again I’m not sure if I would pass smog in California with that being said, would I have to tune it in order to pass or does that not have anything to do with the tune? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
How's your Q holding up & what do you have done to it? I recently bought a 2016 Q50 Premium myself with 40k miles last week and I'm looking into mods already
So I'm looking to buy one I'm looking at the red sport and you're talking about a 3.0 normal one but if I do the tune to the red sport and you're on the 30 normal I'll be at 500 or so when you're only at 400 correct?
Man I am new to cars ,I just bought a 3.0t q50 and consider to mod it but I am worried about to sell it in the future. Do I need to remove all the mods to sell it? Thank you!
I have a g37 3.7 the 3.0TT is much easier to mod and much faster, looks better . too . Its a corvette killer with a few mods and a tune. its the best car you can get for cruising and racing. Im getting a Q too soon
I would love to do a VR30DDTT swap for my G35x sedan. But it's not going to be s great nor legal daily driver. Until there's kits that provide full proof kits with full compatibly where the a/c, power steering, functional gauge clusters, cruise control, etc. Plus a lot of swaps the few that have done so have limp mode issues. I believe Z1 Motorsports is the only one with an outright fully functional VR swap. Then again they actually got help from Nissan themselves. The average person won't have that luxury. I believe ppl have had more success with the VQ37VHR swap? So I might as well just start saving up for Q60. This will be a few more yrs so their value will drop a bit. I wish I could just get a 400z and call it a day. But I'm also very fond of the Z32 platform. My first car was a 1990 300zxTT. My friend's dad has a 95 300zxTT. It has been blueprinted port & polished heads, bigger throttle bodies, injectors, turbos, forged pistons and rods, aggressive cams, underdrive pulleys, stage 3 racing clutch and flywheel. You name it and it has every FBO imaginable. It was last dyno'd pushing 796hp at the wheel. Updating it with modern mods, turbos, etc and it could easily reach 900+hp. This is no exaggeration whatsoever. It's a beast,I got to drive it once and it was all over the place. Scary to drive, it just loses traction so easily coming into 2nd and barks in every shift into gear. It's definitely not a daily like it once was, that clutch alone is quite the workout. With some modern suspension upgrades, it'll help tame it so it'll at least have traction. It's been sitting in their garage wasting away for the last 18yrs. Only occasionally taking it out for a spin at night maybe 2 times a yr. I know he's been thinking of selling it and that's honestly my real desire. I'd take that over any modern Nissan or Infiniti any day of the week. With that being said though it's amazing in how advanced auto tech has gotten. Then again look at the differences between engines. The VG30DETT has 320hp stock in 1990! 25 yrs later with the VR30DDTT they are what 380ish hp stock? The VG responds very well with FBO mods.
Does the 3.0 still rev as harshly as the 3.7? I owned a 2010 370Z almost 10 years ago now, and that was pre oil cooler and other changes; but one thing that stands out most over my 350Z I owned, was how harsh that motor sounded up top. Is it still the same?
I recently rented the Q60t. The acceleration was great. I have a 05 350z what kind of mods do I need to get that same feel without having to get into a new V. Appreciate the info

Awesome! I just picked one up myself, fully loaded, AWD, sport wheels & minus the DAS (Proactive Package). I couldn't be happier myself!
Its VQ all day 💯💯
I had a 650whp 370z supercharged and it’s still all the same. Modifying these engines is always a gamble. There is no making power and reliable.
@@EnthusiastPOV you can make that reliable depends on who modding
Power and reliability are the opposite end of the spectrum
Agreed 100%, I had both platforms as well the 3.0 is def a better daily driver with all the extra torque and down low power. But, the 3.7 revs and goes stronger at highway speeds.

VQ POWER
@@nigelados4796 Sooooooooo🤷♂️🤷♂️, nothing will sound and better build then the VQ.
Twin turbo VQ3.7!!!

@@50shades_of_memez it’s very tame with stillen supercharger
Great content and step by step direction on how to increase horsepower. Will be working on the my 3.0 t cooling system first before moving on to the lower down pipes and exhaust.
Longevity and reliability the VQ my 370z is at 130k miles no major issue other than serpentine belt replaced, and general maintenance.
130K on a VQ is nothing, my 3.5 is at 304K milep
Simple
Vq37 more reliable, longer history than VR literally bulletproof, makes good power out of factory but expensive to mod even with tune you won’t push over 400hp with full bolt ons maybe if you build the internals you can get close to 400hp but it’s so limited unless you boost but that can get very expensive as well.
VR Well it’s a newer engine, not as reliable, heatsoaking but makes great power when modded. It still has a long way to go and it’s going to get better or worst who knows. Also expensive to mod you for the money you make better power than the VQ with just simple bolt ons.
Just picked up a 2019 Q50 3.0t Luxe. I think I'm gonna try and pay the car off completely before I do any big modifications to it.
Should've kept the maxipad
Second gen vq swap maxima would be faster due to lighter body (2-400 lbs lighter)
Have you seen the 700hp maxima tuned by admin?
Im late to this But you weren’t even close to hitting the Maximas peak. Those cars can be boosted from 3-5k and make some numbers. The 02 Maxima was literally ALOT cheaper to modify than your G8 and your Q50 but congrats on the cars you have cause they’re nice too
Really appreciate your videos bro! And keep up the hard work and educate the Infiniti community, I have an 08 g35 sedan (vq35hr) and I am purchasing a q60 very soon, thanks to your videos just waiting on the right one. I’m planning on shipping an AWD model to California.
Boosted performance mid mount single turbo kit for the VQ and call it a day. Vr's are cute
You ain’t lying. !
I wish it was offered in the Q60.
Maybe buy bc coilovers
Definitely keeping up with oil changes
Woah guys chill 😂😂

Got my Q50 silver sport 4 months ago and I love it wish it was manual but the power and handling makes up for it! Can’t wait to tune mine!
Great vid! Recently started following you as I will be getting my own q60 sport by years end. Can’t wait to unlock this things potential!
I own a 40th anniversary manual, sports package 370z, and I love it. But a buddy of mine has a q50 and buddy they RIIIP. No doubt they're both great cars
Which engine does ur buddy have
Aftr long run turbo cars begin to slow down i notice this but the N/@ engine give you the powa always no mater after hours drive
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I would have never figured that out so easily.

thanks for your advise, it clearly helps a lot to make a decision
B-Columbian Truther vr30s have a plethora of reliability issues. vq is more attractive to customers as it’s a tried and true NA motor
The VQ 3.7 is legendary and bulletproof reliable. The verdict is still out on the VR3.0 but the GTR VR3.8 seems just as bulletproof as a N/A 3.7
Sold my q50 fbo except for stock turbos on e50 but I did not liked the slow tranny which made it slow compared to other cars in same mods.
WOW!
I do miss that VQ sound...
So I have 3.0 redsport what is the first suggestion of tune
Love the Q60 3.0 didn't like paying for new turbos at 75,000 miles
I generally agree with what’s said. However, having raced tuned turbo Q’s with my very mildly boosted G and after the Q’s initial half to car length lead out of the hole, my G will walk the Q badly. By around 200 ft I will have 2 cars on the Q. And I spent right around 2200 is all, for the mods for it. Plus, I don’t have to worry about reliability issues with this motor. I’m sure the new turbo 3.0’s will be reliable, but it’s not known for sure, yet.
Nice man glad your car runs that good. I like boosted Gs myself
A bolted/tuned torquey VR30 would definitely have a significant advantage off the jump, but even a "conservatively boosted" VQ37 with stock internals would take a VR30 into "deep waters" and drown it.
$2200 for a full turbo setup on a G? Where are you getting your performance parts my guy?
Agreeded. A steal for even a "used setup".
I got the 2017 Infiniti Q50s 400 Red-sports fully loaded I love it shit super fast
Well considering you can find a nice 3.7 example for $15,000 and a new 3.0t will cost you between $50,000-60,000 I say the 3.7 hands down, also if you really need to you can turbo it or put a stillen supercharger for a few grand and smoke anything
Exactly!!! 💯💯💯 and more reliable in the long run💯💯💯
I'm waiting for the new 400Z twin turbo motor to come out.., taking the VR motor 6 speed version to drop in my 96 300zx TT..
the motor is already out and 3.7 manual tranny fits it.
Junkyards are selling those vr30 motors like crazy nowadays. I wonder why.
Great video! I got a 18 q60 sport the a week ago.
Already got plans with AMS lol
Good video.. you answered lots of questions I had 👍🏼 #3.7
@Midwest Hoonigan Great video. A shop has done a swap of the 3.7 to 3.0 on a 370Z and I'm researching on doing the same but my only concern would be difficulty with keeping AC and power steering since I'd like an OEM feel and experience with the car. With your experience with both platforms, would you say the two are distant relatives or is the layout almost identical with exception of the turbo and heat exchanger components?
why do that ?? just put ur own turbo on it
Great video. Thanks for the useful information
If I were you 3.7 guys, the GTR engine fits our chassis also don't forget the VR30 swap which would be a lot cheaper than going twin turbo on a 3.7
WOW NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!! Now that's a swap I would actually consider over the VQ !! not the vr30 💯💯💯💯

@@EnthusiastPOV That's good to know. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
VQ❤❤❤

How durable is the 3.7 ? Can I go past 200,000 miles with the bolt ons you mentioned ? I'm looking for a quick daily car not interested racing it
It’s very durable almost bulletproof
A simple super charger on the 3.7 liter gives it an easy extra 100 horses

Enthusiast POV
Cool thanks man! And what would you recommend as far as the first Modification for my Q50? I was thinking lower down pipes but again I’m not sure if I would pass smog in California with that being said, would I have to tune it in order to pass or does that not have anything to do with the tune? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Amazing video💪🏾 loved every minute of it. Keep it up my friend
Why not throw a jb4 tune on a q50 3.0t red sport ??
