If you watch the Rams-Ravens game from last year, you get a great picture of what they can do and who they are. Stafford alone is criminally underrated, let alone the whole team! I also love that the Rams seem to be looking for players with talent and character. They are trying to build a specific culture with a non-problematic/means-business type locker room. Super pumped to watch Avila grow into the Center role.
That was my feedback as well. You saw the Rams at their greatest and worst. Offense was outstanding and defense…..especially the secondary….kept dragging them down.
I believe the Rams are definitely going to be at playoff level.

Their schedule is tough so we will see. They will definitely be better overall than last season. Hoping for a revenge tour from Cooper Kupp, and getting revenge on the Lions, Packers & niners would be nice too

Rozeboom at LB and the tight end position are the weaknesses, but they are also two of the easier positions to mask deficiencies. Watching the AD-less D line will be interesting, but I agree with you that the young talent should gel and come together. And lets not forget the Sean McVay factor. Dude is one of the best head coaches in the game. The Saints game was a great Kobie Turner game as well. Beating his blocks to get a sack and beating doubles to stuff the run. He and AD wrecked that gameplan. Kam Curl MAY be the best pick up in free agency this year and no one is talking about it. He plays with a nasty streak that this team has typically lacked in the secondary. Big hitter.
Yeah with kitchens, white, Darius are a potentially good team to work with. That's a possibly great secondary with Durant and others who have more experience now
Rams also proved, e.g. during the 2021-2022 Super Bowl run, that they are really smart with in-season roster moves too.
It's a good thing the Rams are not being taken seriously, it will be a surprise for a lot of teams.
Appreciate the Rams love! Les and Sean are the best tandem of coach and GM they always have the top 2 or 3 youngest rosters every year only picking in mid to late rounds 8 years without a first round pick. In that span have been to 7 playoffs missing 2wice 2022 Injuries and 2018 8-8. The only team better record in 9 years is Kansas City. Rams don’t get the love ever and I think it’s because of the stl La transfer. They also don’t go for the “sexy” pick in the draft they pick based off scheme and quality work on film that they can teach. They are always underrated and will be in playoffs again.
Have drafted so impeccably well in recent years it’s amazing. Crazy how underrated they are going into 2024

Love the analysis - I know that AD accounts for a lot of people underestimating the Rams coming into this year. Losing someone who is routinely triple teamed on the Defensive Line, coupled with the Rams being an offensive oriented team because of McVay and the rookie DC in Shula (name recognition meaning nothing) is probably where the lack of respect comes from. Well, that and the 2022 season still somehow sticking in pundits' minds... But for whatever reason, I really think the Rams are situated to be a major force that people are somehow overlooking. As a fan, I'm mostly just looking forward to the next evolution of the McVay offense - it's always tweaked to take full advantage of his new and evolving pieces. Outside of the 2022 season, which really only fell apart because of injuries, the offense is always fascinating, innovative, and exciting. I expect a huge emphasis on the running game. I think it all hinges on what Shula shows us. Even if he's more or less average, expect the Rams to make some noise.
Quentin Lake, Kobe Turner, and Blake Corum are going to be stand outs! Tuner already is 😏so much talent on the Rams with solids picks this draft! Exciting up coming season. With a new Defensive Coordinator.

Ram fan since Roman Gabriel days. Watched every Ram game last year, and every year. Could have beaten Lions in playoff, would have like to have seen McVay use Carson Wentz on a series where he scores a TD like he did in final Niner game, instead of coming away with three field goals when in red zone in second half. We basically have a new defense this year and on paper looks terrific. We know the offense is proven and will score, with a better O line and running game we will march down the field like we did all of last year and score more points in the red, it will be up to the D to keep opponents from matching our offense. No comments on AD because we just have to move forward. Impressed with Lake last season, love to see him take the next step. If new D is not a paper tiger, we could have another Fearsome Foursome...or Fivesome. If this turns out to be more true than not, bettors would be high not to take the Rams seriously for Super Bowl contenders, at a minimum take the over on total wins for the season. Go Rams!!!

I believe the biggest question I have about us is the Stafford situation.. I know he wants an extension and paid more. Hopefully we get that figured out..
The only other thing that has me a little worried is can everyone stay healthy..
Other than that, your analysis was pretty much spot on with what all us other Rams fans are pretty much feeling. We are a mix of young and old talent, and I believe it's good enough to see us at the very least deep in the playoffs.
I think Puka is basically unstoppable, I believe Kupp will be healthy again and be right there with him. I also feel Stafford gets better with age, he isn't slowing down outside of injuries, but his skill set and arm ability hasn't decreased at all.
And like you pointed out, Our offensive and defensive lines have the potential to be top 5 on both sides..
We upgraded the secondary which was really our only weakness last season.
From what I see, the NFL isn't ready for what's about to come. I believe we are going to literally bully people.
Stafford didn’t ask for more money, he wants more guaranteed money which is different.

As far as holes, middle linebacker after Ernest. But they play mostly nickel so shouldn’t be a big issue, possibly tight end since higby is injured and not sure how good Parkinson is yet. If white gets injured at CB there isn’t another shut down corner too
I like being the disrespected underdogs, look how it worked out for the Rams last year. I think it fired them up. They were the scariest team going into the playoffs.

Tight end, special teams, Kyren injury history, are some of the weaknesses along with AD retirement.

I agree the Rams are disrespected and one reason is they are lead by the most disrespected star QB ever in Matthew Stafford.
Losing AD is a massive unpluggable hole but we are still in position to be a great defense. Our offense is going to be all world, personally I have us as a SB favorite.

Hey, ive been an attentive Rams fan since we drafted Goff, and I believe this team is stacked on potential. To be honest, we have seen sophomore slumps and I expect about half of our major contributors to regress at least a little. However, our emphasis on a fresh bodied D-line lowers our reliance on our weak OLBs. Our secondary is still suspect despite the additions, but given time to gel, i dont think they can actually do worse. My hot take is they were our weakest group last year 👀. Defensively, if we can be a top 10 unit, and dont get hit hard by injuries, i see a spot in the nfc championship easy. We should be top 8 team.
I mean, i could just say Matt Staff with a runningback room and a massive O-line.... easy chip?
My hope is for people to not start catching on LMAO. I need those Vegas lines to get as bad as possible, but in all seriousness, we are so much deeper of a football team than we were last year and we have a addressed so many holes, I would say the one hole that remains is at the week side linebacker position, we just signed a UDFA we are hoping can come in and compete. But other than that, I am very encouraged.

Losing AD is a big deal, and one whose impact can't be accurately projected. Gonna have to see how they play without his talent, leadership and DCs scheming to control him.
Rams are a good team that people should be scared of . Mathew Stanford is a great quarterback. He will pick teams apart. The defense will be fine with what we have . Maybe they even shock some teams. I think they will rule the NFC west not the 49ers !

The Rams are always going to be dismissed as long as Matthew Stafford is behind center. We're in the quarterback is magic era where people believe you can't win a superbowl without a elite QB and Stafford is not elite. People have more faith in Caleb Williams being elite next season than stafford. Stafford is the ink block test of the NFL. Some people see a future hall of fame qb that would probably be looked at like Patrick Mahomes if he went to a organization that was actually competent white he was young. And some see a middle of the road guy with turnover issues and chokes in big games. Some see a really good qb but nothing special.
This is a very valid point, and it’s wild considering Stafford’s background and history while Caleb is yet to take a snap… crazy 😂
@@AlexVenuse The narrative of a player goes a long way. No one can watch all 32 teams and ever snap so people use narratives to make sene of everything. The narrative of this era is wins is a QB stat and he did a lot of losing in Detroit and Stafford can't shake that narrative. He if he plays 3 more seasons without injuries he'll have 60 thousand yards and 400 TDs and I think he's the only QB in the top 10 all time in both those stats that doesn't make the hall of fame.

Most 4th qtr comebacks in the league since 2009, tied with Drew Brees for fastest QB to reach 50k yards.
