You're right about the color. The color of gold can be shown by referencing the alloying triangle where gold is at one point, silver is at another point, and copper is at the final point. Copper makes it redder (ie rose gold) and silver makes it whiter (ie white gold). A gold eagle contains some of all three with about twice as much copper and silver. I like the color that results.
Lol. I was trying to be humble about it so hopefully it came across that way. I thought folks might like to see it. Thanks for the comment and watching!
Congrats on the stack. While you probably own your house, it is fun to track the number of ounces of gold required to purchase ones home over time on a spreadsheet or document.
Mmmmmmm, Pure Gold. Looks so dang delicious. Again, I would say the best investment would definitely be the American Gold Eagles. They always hold their premium, and net you the best resale price.
When you're trying to get your camera to focus on the coin, if you use your off hand as background to block out everything else, it helps the camera focus
Also lenses tend to have a minimum focusing distance so slightly further away from the focal plane will help you bring that into sharp relief. That coupled with the contrasting background mentioned above.
I love the look of the maples, but I’m still sticking to the U.S. gold eagles and buffalos. I actually used to buy eagles, now I’m only buying the buffalos. Good on you for saving some money.
Wow, gold has such a powerful color, I went heavy in gold in 2017 when gold was around $1,700. I only wish I would have got in earlier but a return of almost $800 per Troy, gold is Rex, Rex means King. Enjoyed your video. A company that is a little cheaper than JM is Liberty coin and they are one of the best
Thank you for your time and making the effort on the videos.... it’s always fun and interesting to see what others are getting... especially those as fortunate as yourself nice big stacks.... congratulations and looking forward to your next shipment!! :-)
That’s some nice gold collection, I don’t understand why we treat gold like this, gold is real money, but yet we buy it with fiat currency or paper money which is worthless. Gold should be respected, btw keep those good looking coins locked up, you don’t want a gang of pirates looking for your house.
Just a Follow up at 5:20 I think both have the same amount of gold (1 oz ) but the American Eagle weighs more than one oz I because of the added base metal i think
I wish it was as easy to buy gold or silver here in Brazil as it is in your country, but here we have to buy only from like 5 different places, and I think only one or two have coins for sale :( We also can't really buy silver or other metals, as the country focuses mostly on investments via banks and the stock market
I realize my solution here is quite expensive but if you were to leave the country and buy a 22k gold chain and wear it back into the country, I dont know of any countries where that would be an issue. (No idea if it would work there)
You are now the proud owner of 30 Oz Gold ... Very Nice. I like to see how far you can stretch that Gold stack my friend. I'm glad to see your not a stiff when it comes to handling the coins the way you do.. well done your earned them
Even though I love the shine and brilliance of the Canadian Maple Leaf 🍁, the Design (front & back) on the Gold American Eagle coin kicks ass over the “Queen” and tree leaf.
@@mwint1982 American Eagles are 22ct Gold coins but contain exactly One Troy Ounce of 24ct Gold, much like Gold Krugerrands and the Old Britannia coins. They are made like this to be stronger designs. That's why Eagles weigh 33.93 grams instead of 31.10 grams like the Maples. Both contain exactly 31.10 grams of pure gold, and so are sold as 24ct coins to investors. For me personally as a brit, I stay clear of both because they are not Capital Gains Tax Exempt for us and I dont fancy paying 20% in tax when I can buy and sell British gold tax free
If you hold the palm of your other hand behind the coin it will help the camera focus on the coin as where you are showing the coin at 4:17 minutes. Anyways nice purchase, I couldn’t even dream of buying that much gold at once, here I am getting one ounce of silver a week and just bought my second 1 gram of gold. 😮
The Canadian Maple Leaf 24k gold coin is a pure gold coin (24k) and scratches easily. You can even scratch it with a paper napkin. The American Eagle is a 22k gold coin with alloys of copper and silver for added durability. It weighs more than an ounce but contains exactly one ounce of pure gold. The Canadian Maple Leaf should be handled with extreme care and not dragged around on that wooden table. The more scratches it accumulates it can only then be sold for scrap gold prices
I am lucky if I can get 1 half oz or a 1/4 oz never mind ozs evidently money is not a issue for you. Thank you for sharing your awesome fortunes. There are people so poor and then there is crazy wealth . This is a a huge amount of money good for you
An ounce of gold is an ounce of gold, simple as that. The gold eagle is still an ounce of gold despite the coin is 91% gold, if you only have the gold out of the coin, it's still an ounce; it's the added things ( a touch of copper/silver-- real mind you) that makes the color a bit different than the maple leaf. You can't go wrong with either as they are both beautiful and a safe method of preserving wealth.
Deep Thoughts With A-A Ron ... How happy are you to have purchased all that gold bullion before the world went to shit recently and now you've made a nice little killing in only a few months? Great timing with your purchase. The security you must feel right now with these financial and economic uncertainties has to be insane! Well done my friend! Thanks for the video!
Gold content is a factor for how it looks but these are very pure (3-4 9s). I believe the finishing of the coin has more to do with it. I can notice it on silver coins as well.
I think someone else kinda detailed the reasons. The Eagles do have other metals in them while having a full oz of gold. The other metals in the eagles harden the coin for scratch resistance and such as they are circulation capable. The leafs are more brilliant but I do like the eagles too
My Lord! Love those mounds of Gold you’ve accumulated there. I’m guessing that you wanted to diversify your Gold stack by selecting 3 different options. Personally I might have been inclined to buy 20 Eagles 🦅 and 20 Maples 🍁. That’s if money is in an abundance.
The Maple Leaf is a more beautiful coin imo but the Eagle is much more durable/resistant to knicks and scrapes. Careful when handling them 24k coins, trust me I've dinged my gold buffalo ounce a few times it don't take much. Exilent videos 👍
Davidka1978Xoroshiy you don’t sell gold. It’s bought to preserve wealth. If gold is valued at $5000 one day, it only means the US dollar lost its value and it take more to buy gold. Never sell the gold you buy. People keep thinking the opposite. In a crashed currency, why would you sell gold for useless paper money?
notice how the maple leaf is smaller than the eagle. thats the difference in density from .9999 vs 91.67% purity. gold Is so dense the eagle is about 8% larger due to it being @ 8% other metal. platinum which is a great buy here is even 10% more dense than gold.
Great video thanks for sharing. Liked and sub'd :D Question, are those maple leafs gunna be Capital Gains Tax Exempt for you? You have 10 x 1oz Maple leafs and the same for American Eagles so surely you are going to pay CGT on one lot of coins there?
If you're buying as a hedge against inflation or a SHTF scenario then consider adding 1/4 and 1/10 ounce Eagles into the mix. Add some silver Eagles and some junk silver and you're good to go. Hard to break a 1 ouncer when all you need is a roll of TP....
You picked a good time to buy. Gold was around 1500oz in fall of 2019.....now it's 1670......you've gained 30 x 170 or over 5,000 bucks in 4 months. I suspect by next November, it will be a LOT more than that.
And now a month later, gold is 1730.....so you're up another 1800 bucks on spot, not that you can FIND any close to spot. Most dealers are getting close to 1900 for American Eagles. Good times to hold real money !
