I remember my mom singing this song at the sink in our pink kitchen. This show was recorded on December 6, 1963 and aired on December 22. Strange to think the country was still reeling from JFK's violent passing a month before this aired. Jack Jones was, I think, highly underrated - possibly because people like Andy Williams (my mom's favorite) and Tony Bennett were huge. I miss my mom very much, too! We will be together with our moms one day, though.
@@researchers.8357 I guess we don't have the luxury of knowing for sure, but our mums might be having the times of their lives (pardon the pun) up there.
I was a young man when this era was going on. It certainly is a classic time. I think for young minds everything is classic. Times have changed but always will change. We definitely always will have great singers via internet.
its appealing because this was popular and that says a lot about a cultures values...i time travel back when i hear our 'Great Songs'...yes i live in these 'rioting times'...but i dont want to forget the sweetness either
When there was a difference between children and adults. Today, adults seem less emotionally mature than preceding generations. It is as if adults today are teenagers who just got old...
I completely agree. Goodness knows where we are heading. I alway think of Audrey Hepburn - can you imagine her with tatoos or worse nose rings. For some reason in this age of the self-ego everyone wants to deform themselves to be different. Of course everyone doing this actually makes them all the same. And class wasn't necessarily about money it was the demeanour one had and a taste for things that were sophisticated or beautiful. Those days are now long gone. Very sad indeed.
Thanks for all the great memories Jack. You were one of the greats.
Thank you, JACK JONES for doing your part to help tame mankind with your gift and talent. In the meantime, I'll keep the music playing.
Great singing by Jones in front of two icons! Judy and Liza. RIP JackJones
RIP Jack Jones.I heard this on the radio as kid back in the day, one of my moms favorite songs. I miss my mom very much!!

What a great singer Jack was, this is a live version and for him it's a walk in the park, so easily done.
One of my favorite singers….Great voice ala Sinatra. RIP….

Wow! I cannot even imagine a clip like that being made today in the U.S.!
Mom had thousands of Alblum's & I had a large collection of Jack Jones records 🙂💗🌹🍭
Jack Jones is the famous singer of the popular television theme song: The Love Boat!
What a handsome man with a wonderful voice.
Bobby Glenn sang this song at my wedding. A long time ago.

Did everyone see Liza on Judy’s right?
Yes..at 2:22 she looked smitten with Jack
I wish I could go back in time and tell the lady she can sing it if she wants. It doesn’t matter if she’s a girl or not :(
Simp
That 'lady' is Judy Garland......
@@jaredconnor sorry, I’m uncultured
@@kenm.4132No., your listening to Jack Jones.. your probably just from a different generation .
It’s not that she couldn’t sing it, it’s just a song of wisdom from a man’s/fatherly perspective.
La versión instrumental de Herb Albert es igualmente bella aunque más dinámica.
Back when people were classy. No tattoos and no piercings.
Tattoos ? Actually the personification of someone with tattoos back then and today has changed little. They were never classy in the western world

People have had tattoos and piercings for many thousands of years, genius, including that time.
