I'm just gonna say that while some Devil Fruits are naturally powerful, others can be made powerful depending on how a person uses it.
Buggy's fruit is actually really good, it's just that he doesn't use it as effectively as he could.
Luffy's fruit on the other hand is only good because of how creative Luffy is with it. He's also naturally strong and uses the momentum of his stretching ability to amplify the impact of his attacks. In the hands of a weaker person, all it would do is make said person resistant to blunt attacks and bullets.
I'm glad comments like these are not allowed in the comment section of another reactor i am following. I think it is better if a reactor does not allow 'minor spoilers' like this, but to each their own.

Please guys, stop saying something like "you're gonna like One Piece more than Naruto/you're gonna be a big fan of One Piece" or whatever it is along those lines. Take it like this, when someone tell you to do something, usually you'll have the urge to do the opposite, so it might be the same for this.

The best thing about Luffy is he'll let you shine and stay back if you show him that you believe something. He always wants you to be upfront with him and tell him how you feel. He's a perfect MC from a friendship POV.

I remember when i started watching OP. I was so hooked up on it, i binge watched all the 400-ish episodes at the time in a few weeks. I reached a point where i watched 30 episodes a single day, starting in a saturday morning, skipping intros and outros. Good times.

I don't know if I've seen anyone mention it, but the anime changed something in these episodes. In the manga Zoro cuts himself to give Cabaji the handicap, but as the anime didn't want to promote self harm to the kids that watch TV, they changed it to Zoro letting Cabaji get a hit in on him. Similarly the anime cut out a scene at the beginning which shows kid Luffy stabbing himself in the face to prove to Shanks he's brave enough to be a pirate, which is where that scar comes from. Not a spoiler, these scenes just don't exist in the anime.
Matthew Luffy stabbing himself in the face is actually shown in the anime later on with Episode of Luffy and the flashback in episode 878
Also, during the Zoro and Cabaji scuffle, in the manga Zoro actually cuts himself instead of letting Cabaji cut him.

onigiri- its a food(and yes a game). its actually the food brought to zoro by the little girl, the rice balls that she put sugar instead of salt. also in japanese oni means demon, thats why zoro's technique is called onigiri
Oni (demon) Giri (slash) are 2 different words, the pronunciation is the same with japanese riceball which is Onigiri. Just to be sure that Zoro didn't name the technique based on the riceball he got from Rika (the little girl from Morgan arc) because certain people in the future confirmed it that Zoro had that technique even before the current timeline of the series
Onigirl is the name of the triangle shaped rice balls they make in Japan.

Onigiri is a type of Japanese rice ball, though Zoro's move "Oni Giri" is two words and is sort of a pun as it uses the words "Oni"(Demon) and "Giri"(Slash/Cut). you might have heard the term "Oni" in "Kimetsu no Yaiba"
Fun Fact: Sometimes when the word "Oni" is used with other words, it's pronunciation changes to "Ki", which is oftentimes used in the word "Kijin"(Demonkind/Demon Person/Demon Man) and "Kyuuketsuki"(Blood Sucking Demon/Vampire) as well as being used in the "Kimetsu"(Demon Destruction) part in "Kimetsu no Yaiba"(Blade of Demon Destruction/Blade of the Demon Slayer)
Some versions Translate "Oni" as "Ogre" so there's a translation difference to be noted

8 episodes down only 890 more to go, or a little less than 800 is you don't watch filler, plus you have the movies, and tv specials I say if y'all go 2 episodes a day by 2022 y'all will catch up to current story lol. It took me like 5 months to catch up but they were only around 780 when I started watching. sometimes I would watch more than 6 episodes a day, I even watched like 20 at one point lol I was so hooked and still am. It's so amazing how well the story is written is things come back around.
well, they don't need to watch all of them. One Piece is a journey. You watch it not to reach a destination, but to enjoy the experience. That actually also means they can and should stop whenever they feel like it.
I so glad your still going with this One Piece journey and I can promised that the more you watch this series the more it gets better and keeps getting better espeically if you already like the story and character developments so far.

You guys watched the OP and Buggy’s in most of it with new haircut and costumes. Buggy is despicable but he is a good captain because lot of his crews are still loyal to him, his relationship with Shanks are like Zoro and Sanji, they like to bicker with each other.

The rules for the Devil Fruit curse are never outright explained in the series, it's more like you gather clues based on what you see, but in one of the author Q&As (known as the SBS, get familiar with that cause going forward Oda explains a number of aspects outside of the manga that he doesn't explain in the story) that is run in each volume of One Piece, Oda actually explains how it works.
Basically, any body of water can effect a Devil Fruit user, whether it be the sea, fresh water, or just a pool. Running water, like rain or showers, doesn't. The curse itself does not rob you of your ability to swim, it saps you of all strength, meaning you are physically incapable of swimming. As for the triggering of the curse, it's strength depends on how much you're submerged, putting and arm or a leg in water will make you feel weak for instance, and the more thats submerged, the weaker you feel, until about more than half your body is submerged, in which case you'll be damn near immobilized. Full submersion is a death sentence, as you will be sapped of all strength and be incapable of moving.

Apparently anything goes in a pirate fight, judging by Luffy's dirty tricks. But he did stop Buggy from interfering in Zoro's fight. Probably because Zoro is a swordsman first, and that means one-on-one fighting and honour and stuff.
Fun Fact: the parents on 7th Heaven both had roles in Star Trek films, and the mom also starred in the original Child's Play.

Capt morgan actually has a story. His name will drop in the next few episodes (this explains how he became captain) and it appears a few more times in the story. Oda (the write) likes to reintroduce characters.
