Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Going down 0-3 then responding with goal after goal was truly a rollercoaster. Title was truly accurate!
Gave ourselves a mountain to climb in that first 12mins. Defensively all over the place at the moment. Can tell Tommo missing and now Curd going has unsettled the back line. PK a huge miss in midfield too.
That penalty decision by the referee put the nail in the coffin, shocking I must say. Unreal effort by the lads with the attempted comeback. We need to improve defensively and I truly believe we have the quality to do so, just a matter of discipline. Up the tags!!

I hate to say it, but something is seriously off at the back. It could be losing Ted, it could be injuries, it could be the lack of a decent marshal back there.

Randall has a strike but his defending is shambles, Tom Anderson is desperatly missing. Sam Cornish is a bloody good passer of the ball and a smart player but a lot of the goals are due to his weak physice and bad defening as a CDM. Our front three is absolutely fantastic.
Let’s not forget he has just come back from injury from a leg break

Disagree, most of the goals are entirely on the defense. Horrible last 2 games
Defense has no confidence in the keeper. So either they overcompensate or think too much or don’t give 100% because they know there’s no point. Not saying those are right attitudes and not excusing the bad defending, but it starts with the keeper. Ted Curd is an example of a good goalkeeper.
Striz came in when Ted was on international duty and was solid. He’s had a shaky defense in front of him. Can’t blame him for everything.

We were always going to hit a bad patch some time. There are a lot of positives to take from this game at least. I'm confident that we'll get back on it soon. Keep your heads up boys! There's still a long way to go in this season yet.

Camillo and sak showed that they are great players, they need to show this consistently and the points will come. If we manage to not lose every second ball and if they Mark their opponents better theyll come. Im positive we can get back to our winning ways..

It awkward seeing all these comments about the goalkeeper, when missed defensive assignments are the bigger issue here. This goalie was great when he filled in earlier in the season. This backline has been piss poor the past couple weeks. Not even your GODLIKE loan could handle this.

Keeper too passive on his line and defence is leaking simple balls across the box. Both to blame, hard to fix quickly.
little bump in the road. Still looking good going forward just need to sort out the defending efforts from the whole team (not only the defensive players). Still sitting in a comfortable spot in the table what more do we want. there be times like this but this team has enough character to get through it. Was watching the body language of the players in the dressing room before the match. They looked the exact opposite of what Devs was saying he wanted to see. The early goals conceded was exactly what I expected to see.
Hate to single players out, but the keeper is probably a priority to replace. And the team seem like they need some sort of motivation/team bonding to get things back on track (write this after seeing them go 2-0 down, don’t know whether they turned things around but from what I’ve seen so far, it’s going to take something inspiring to change what looks like a mainly mentality issue).
* Clearly the team are fine in terms of cohesion. Really does say point to the keeper. Think teams gain confidence knowing that as long as they get a shot on target it will in all probability result in a goal.

HE'S MY FAVOURITE BIRD. What a performance. First hunting after the ball and stealing it for the first goal, and then the second goal is just outrageuous. I would be so ashamed as a defender.
On another note, Wooldridge has been caught too many times out of position and other people having to cover for him. I see Pedro backtracking more than Matty.. I don't know if he's tired from all the games or if it's maybe Dev's strategy with overlapping fullbacks that this team 100% exploited.. from the moment we had a solid line at the back in the second half it looked better.
Also Harry needs to find his composure. looks like he's a bit frustrated.

I think defensively the tags were allowing to much space and time for the opposition to get passes and crosses away. need to be closing them down applying much more pressure. And that’s not just for the defensive line but the midfield aswell

Losing Ted jas really impacted the team. Defesive group seem to have less confidence in Josh and he just isnt as aggresive in the box

Randall has a sublime shot on him but hes woeful at CB. Abysmal marking and header attempt for the 2nd goal. Usually caught out of position and looks breathless. Not good enough defensively or fit enough for this level sadly, but a great striker of the ball for sure.

Only way to get out of this slump is the old school way… a deep 541 with 100% defensive commitment. Rely on set pieces and wonder goals to get you over the edge
