He can pack so much emotion into words. I would really recommend listening to the older songs by the Arctic Monkeys especially their album Humbug

Alex Turners "A choice of three" blows me away every single time, to take something so mundane and making it so beautiful? I kind of want to cry whenever I hear it, really pointing out the beauty in everyday life. Oh what a poem baby!
its more like he is bad at interviews rather than conversations. his mind just goes way faster than his mouth can keep up with and so we end up with 5 words a minute but if you're patient enough and put them together, those are genius sentences. also the fact that he absolutely hates interviews which adds to the stress and slows him down further. all of the interviews in which the interviewers craft the scene as a conversation are the ones in which he is the most interactive. but if someone's just shooting questions after questions, that's a train wreck.

You should review Auroras music/lyrics. She doesn’t have a poetry book but it’s clear she can WRITE. A lot of her songs she wrote at a very young age, but they are amazing stories and just put visuals in your head effortlessly.

for me the 'reads rupi kaur once' section is poetry that used more symbolism + imagery (so at least *somewhat* poetic albeit cringe) whereas the 'worst-dressed list' category were just words that aren't very poetic at all! ope that makes sense haha

I also feel like she's very raw and vulnerable in some poems and i deeply appreciate that because I could feel it while reading. It's probably a collection that I'll never read again, but while reading, it was great. Also it's a very pretty aesthetically pleasing book if you care about it

Alex Turners "A choice of three" blows me away every single time, to take something so mundane and making it so beautiful? I kind of want to cry whenever I hear it, really pointing out the beauty in everyday life. Oh what a poem baby!

its more like he is bad at interviews rather than conversations. his mind just goes way faster than his mouth can keep up with and so we end up with 5 words a minute but if you're patient enough and put them together, those are genius sentences. also the fact that he absolutely hates interviews which adds to the stress and slows him down further. all of the interviews in which the interviewers craft the scene as a conversation are the ones in which he is the most interactive. but if someone's just shooting questions after questions, that's a train wreck.
The metaphors, analogies, and references Jack makes in this, and some of his other videos are just splendid. 😙👌chef's kiss

i ADORE florence welch. this poem is one of my favorites:
RAGE

This reminded me so much of the words of Thucydides about the change of the meaning of words (he was talking about a time of war):
“The regular meaning of words changed to fit the state of affairs. Insane risk was now bravery for an ally; careful forethought was cowardice; moderation was considered an excuse for being unmanly; circumspection was an unwillingness to commit; heedless attacks was termed manly behavior, and self-defense was a bland excuse for conspiracy”.
I love Florence too! My favourite poem by her is 'Monarch butterflies'.

You should review Auroras music/lyrics. She doesn’t have a poetry book but it’s clear she can WRITE. A lot of her songs she wrote at a very young age, but they are amazing stories and just put visuals in your head effortlessly.

Also if you haven't , you should read Alex Turner's letter to Alexa Chung which she forgot at the bar counter. The whole simile of stairs and falling is one of the smoothest things ever.
The “rupi kaur” poems and “worst dressed” should’ve switched tiers. The rupi kaur poems had a level of cringe that’s unmatched
for me the 'reads rupi kaur once' section is poetry that used more symbolism + imagery (so at least *somewhat* poetic albeit cringe) whereas the 'worst-dressed list' category were just words that aren't very poetic at all! ope that makes sense haha

@@baileymoore1559 milk and honey is a collection of poems about her and her life and her experiences so i feel like the imagery is very strong and hits strong when you've gone through something similar. I also feel like she's very raw and vulnerable in some poems and i deeply appreciate that because I could feel it while reading. It's probably a collection that I'll never read again, but while reading, it was great. Also it's a very pretty aesthetically pleasing book if you care about it
