- Press Conference after Game 14 of the FIDE World Chess Championship Match 2024, presented by Google. #dinggukesh
The FIDE World Championship 2024 match is the first in 138 years to feature two contestants from Asia, the reigning World Champion, China’s Ding Liren, and challenger Dommaraju Gukesh from India, competing for the title and a prize fund of US$2.5 million.
Official website: worldchampions...
4:54 Gukesh taking his time to admire the former world champion Ding is truly admirable!
3:28 also little gestures like him standing when Ding was leaving adds more to his character, he didn't sit until he saw Ding passing the door.
Edit: Those who are wondering, YES DING DID CONGRATULATE GUKESH while resigning, so please don't pass negative comments about either of the players.
Btw, I was really hoping them to exchange a warm hug, but that's understandable!
Ding did not even congratulate Gukesh. That is the difference.
@@giridhargopal3142sometimes its just the difference personalities…dings a bit more introverted
The young man is Class with a Cap-C all over from head2toe. He's a national treasure
But gukesh…amazing and talented and also well spoken n confident…luv from pakistan
@ yup he is
So much negativity was directed towards both players. But both showed great character. Congratulations Gukesh! Your words for Ding were so kind and classy.
Congrats to Gukesh if you are real WC call Carlsen back😂
@@MislavIvkovic-sx8vd He already said in press conference that he will love to play Magnus. We are not afraid of anybody😅
@@MislavIvkovic-sx8vd And what are you in reality ? No-one.Nothing. You are last thing in this universe to demand anything of a WC 🤣😂🤣😂😆
@@MislavIvkovic-sx8vd gukesh already did that.
@@meerak90he can talk whatever he wants cuz Carlsen is not interested in coming back whatsoever 😂

No winner congratulates his opponent first, what a generous act and great chatacter and sportsmanship by Gukesh. True and inspiring champion. May he only rise in chess !
This world chess championship was such a rollercoaster. And the respect that Gukesh showed to Ding while Ding was leaving shows the quality upbringing of Gukesh. Congrats World champion Gukesh🎉
🇮🇳 140+ crore people of India are proud of Gukesh.
❤❤❤
Khud bhi kuch krle
Many Indian support ding , i follow the 14 match .
They troll gukush on the basis of religion , language and his surname also .
It's shameful to watch as an Indian.
You know who they are..
@IQuit1999 hi hi 😃😃😃😃 are you landed from Saturn ? Or porkisthan???
@@IQuit1999 r u from porkisthan ?
You cannot but feel for Ding he is such a gentle and smart person and perhaps struggling throughout the match but what he showed what he was made of when he lost 11 and came back 12. Good luck to Ding for the future... tough day. But a champion is always a champion.
No game tomorrow, Fair results and no regrets.. Ding Liren 💔
Breaks my heart😢

What a great person, Ding is! Saying "No regrets" after the most painful 1-move blunder that decided the world championship is the epitome of greatness. My utmost respect and admiration to Ding Liren.
He has already won it once.... So that also adds up.
Proud of Gukesh from Kenya 🇰🇪 Africa😊😊❤❤
What a beautifully elegant and spiritual person he is. Miraculous. May he reign a long time. He's a true champion.
That's not what people say when they met him in person.

I am just amazed by his calmness and serenity. A Chess Yogi from India. I am so happy to be his fellow citizen.
props to Gukesh, gracious and honorable.
A true gentleman. The first words were for Ding. That's an example of class.
Man Gukesh! Yes, thanks to God first! Tears in eyes when you said you wanted to bring back the title to India! Congratulations!
Seems like a good kid. Ding is also a true gentleman and an outstanding player. Congratulations to Gukesh and the chess world has won today
Gukesh is really admirable ! He even acknowledged the great talent of Ding Liren ! Congratulations to you Gukesh Dommaraju ! God bless you !
I haven’t ever really looked at too many Gukesh interviews prior to this, he’s a truly amazing human being to be so young and talented yet so humble and mature, I really can’t believe he’s only 18. He could be an inspiration to all people in my humble opinion. I am truly honored to have him represent all of us chess players as our face to the world.
Gukesh really showed his class.
It was truly an amazing talk.
I was surprised at how young some of his support team was. He mentioned Vincent Keymer, Jan Klimkowski and Krystof Duda, among others. It's nice to see how these young players, who are always ambitious competitors, can still work so closely together.
I was rooting for Ding in the last 2 rounds, but I have to give it to Gukesh, he was absolutely amazing. Congrats to both players, fantastic performance, I have nothing but respect and admiration for both of them! IMHO, at the end, Gukesh deserves the title, because he was always the one pushing for the win, even in drawn positions, and when his positions was a bit sus. Ding was winning in a couple of games, but did not take the risk, which ultimately cost him the title. Gukesh was also so gracious in his words about Ding, that it made me respect him even more. What a legend!
Mr Ding so liked and very lovable person Mr. Gukesh World Chess Champion!😂India my favorite country. No joke, my favorite was Anand, they are my absolute favorites, hope that the World will learn from them how to live and no wars
18 years old and already like old Smyslov! 😂
Nasretid Hodza was not so mature and clever.
❤

Amazing interview Guki. I am in Portland Oregon. Going to celebrate with my family. Thanks for giving so much joy. Like you I was also praying to my Guru Kanchi Periyava that you win today with black pieces. You never won with black in this tournament. So I was praying hard
Congrats Gukesh , historic moment and you made us all proud by being youngest Champion ... hard luck Ding , well fought and both players are so humble and gentlemen !
"When you do the right things, usually good things happen."
A worthy champion needs a worthy opponent. Both were worthy.
This moment will boost the game 10 years ahead ❤
I appreciate Ashley the matured way he handled the conference!
Yes! Maurice made it big.
So down to earth and humble….. hardworking and honest… these are the real champions💕🙏🥰 God bless Gukesh and his family.
He follows Anand in both chess brilliance and positive humble personality.
Congratulations to Gukesh, 18th CHESS
World Champion. He is so humble, In hope he can remain Champion for years to come. Bravo !!!
18th Chess world champ at 18 yrs of age
Ding is looking so sad, sorry for him. Be cheerful, proud you just lost 1 game. Don't worry come back strongly.
Proud of GUKESH becoming youngest world champion. Congratulations. You inspire all the youngsters, motivates them to achieve their goals with hard work and dedication. Thanks to you wish you to more success in future.❤❤❤
I thought he looked relieved as well, and maybe any sadness he showed was about himself rather than the outcome of the match
Wonderful Victory. Congrats Gukesh . India is proud of you . Well played Ding too . Jai Hind !
👏 to both players!
They deserve any respect 🫡
What a matured way to handle the event and show respect to the opponent. Superb.
12/12/2024. This must be cherished for a long time. D Gukesh , 18 year old chess prodigy not only become the youngest world chess champion, but also bringing the crown back to India after a year long decade, turned a long awaited dream into reality. India’s chess future never looked better. 🇮🇳 ♟️
So nice to see him cheerful and relieved. Remarkably resilient, honest, gracious, humble and capable of having fun😅; all of the attributes point to a true World Champ... Wishing him the best in his career. Love and prayers from across the border.
Every school in India must try and set up a Chess Club- just look at the amount of happiness it has brought to all of us because our Gukesh has become the Chess World CHAMPION!!- Congratulations! Jai Hind!!
Both showed great sportsmanship. That's so heart warming to see. Even if I'm Indian and I'm biased but one cannot hate Ding.
I am really very happy that Gukesh won but at the same time feeling sad for Ding.
Most Indians were supporting ding as you said
He is in so much control of his emotions and words and that too at such a tender age
What a new champion. Haven’t seen such a humble Indian in sport before 🎉
Incredible, proud of you boy. 18th world champions at 18. Many many congratulations!! Lovely
Congratulations to Ding Liren who fought brilliantly and make winning this championship really worthy for Gukesh.
He is GRATITUDE all over! 🙏

Ding, I'm so proud of you! Huge congratulations to Gukesh, both champions❤
Both are good modest men. Well said Gukesh- so admirable!
Yes, what Gukesh said is spot on- chess is a mental game so a mental coach is always helpful. In fact, in India we have so much of talent and every sport needs a mental coach!!
23:56 Gukesh slipped up but remembered he was in a press conference XD
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm soooo proud of you Ding
I m also ❤ love from India ❤
And I'm so proud of gukesh 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
I am proud of Gukesh🙏👍
Maurice Ashley very professional :)
Very honest from Ding and heartbreaking :(
Gukesh classy towards Ding and very gentle. Well done kid
He did it❤
I love Ding. What a human being.
What graceful guys both are♥️♥️
Yes, one more thing, I would like to add is Gukesh brought out the point that a personal mental coach has immense bearing on his match. Being a parent of a athlete, we know what pressure they undergo. In swimming only elite teams have just one psychology coach for the whole team of more than a hundred, which is just namesake.
Congratulations Gukesh🎉
Gajewski, Wojtaczek, Klemowski, and Duda, the Polish posse! and Harikrishna, and Keymer, what a great team!
Ding Liren is a gentleman and a fine chess player. He didn't hide his health problems, honest in review of his games and gracious in defeat. I hope he regains his faculties for which he earned such respect of chessplayers the world over. I sincerely hope he will be back. Meanwhile congrats to Gukesh for another magnificent achievement. But let it not escape anyone's mind that he made some uncharacterstic mistakes which are not expected at this level and would have been punished severely by someone like Magnus or Naka.
true comments ... but he won the candidates and won the olympiad ... so this is not a fluke ..its hard work and being right place at right time... lets have the courage to call victory a victory and not just try and find issues with it... fact is he is World Champion and he has earned it.... victory goes to the resilient and brave not to the perfect
@@javiersays Absolutely. Gukesh is the world champion. It has to sink in with applogists.
Gukesh highly matured than his age .
Yes He didn't say CHESS. SPEAKS X ITSELF 😅
@@delbertsaa6774 keep crying.. he is still a world champion 😂
What a fighter and champion and Ding. And great sportsmanship from Gukesh and deserving
Ding did so well he has had a hard hard year he did his absolute best. .

Well done Both of you ❤❤❤ LOVE FROM INDIA
வாழ்த்துகள் da தம்பி ❤ . Proud from Tamil Nadu - India.
Congratulations, Gukesh! I’ve been rooting for you this match. Very happy with the outcome.
I don't think Ding is sad. He looks sooo relieved, maybe that he hasn't to defend again and that he played a good match.
Great fighting sprit and an amazing Press Conference. Goes on to show the humbleness, greatness and gracefulness of THE WORLD CHESS CHAMPION GUKESH . Also amazing fighting spirit shown by Ding . In tears Atm. Gukesh OP.
Ding IS CLASS ALL OVER.. He has earned my unqualified respect even in defeat and truth be told, I would not have minded had he won.
After defeating world champion, Ding Liren, Gukesh unlocks hidden boss - Magnus Carlsen.
What a humble and generous 18 year old Champion- he will surely reach great heights!!
love you Ding! Congrats to Gukesh!;)
Loved whole tournament from Day1. Congratulations Gukesh 👑
What I liked is Goal.... Becoming the world champion doesn't mean I am best in the world.. that's the motivating factor..
Congrats dear Gukesh. We lived every moment along with you. Best wishes for a great future.
Ding played very well considering that he's been in a slump for two years. Congrats to Gukesh for becoming world champion at 18!
Congratulations my dear gukesh jay ho ❤🎉🎉🎉

Gukesh is a star
Ding was very gracious and composed. Time for a solid vacation. Congratulations Gukesh; you spoke like a champion.
Such a wonderful soul
Proud of you Gukesh for making our country proud
Congrats to Gukesh, and for Ding; “True success isn't just about achieving the highest point, but rather about your ability to recover and rebound from setbacks or failures, demonstrating resilience and strength when you hit a low point in life.” - General George S. Patton
He’ll bounce back!!
First time seeing gukesh laughing❤ so much 🎉
Thanks for making us proud and thank you Ding for trying your best
Much congratulations to our dear Pride WORLD CHAMPION D.GUKESH❤
Proud moment to India 🇮🇳 ❤️
Cong. to Gokesh! Praisses to decent and deffence strong Lyren!
Both of them are valuable players. Nothing bad about having a new champion!
I feel like Magnus should come back to fight Gukesh, it would be fun to see him back and it would be a good idea to see if the younger generation potentially is stronger than the older generation. And as for gukesh, I think he would find it as a learning experience and would be an honor to play against Magnus. As for Magnus it would show he still has the capabilities of playing a very high level but also shows that he still reclaims that title of being the greatest in the world (obviously he is the GOAT, but I think the game would be cool)
Magnus ..is Time X you to. Re CONFIRM ..YOU STILL #1
Manus you comeback and whole 🌎 besides India will be in your side
Illustrious career can be seen from the new champions
What a win and a proud for Bharat.❤🎉🌹👍
Congrats and well deserved victory Gukesh! Your humility, cool head and fighting spirit will take you places!
Ding seems like such a sweet guy
I like how Gukesh spent long paragraph recognizing Ding's achievement. Although Ding is probably weakest WC during his reign, but Ding was great player before COVID lockdown, as good as many WC. He won fairly, and it was a great achievement.
