Just wanted to add this as an example - one of the first serious tournaments I ever played. One of the last games of the prelims involved brutal beatdowns and runthroughs... I was surprised that there wasn't a fistfight on the field. 20 minutes later I'm in the pits dealing with a leak in my autococker when a guy from the team we just played came over with his tools and parts kit to help. The dude fixed my gun in a flash despite the fact that minutes ago we were at each other's throats. I ended up ordering a couple of pizzas for his team as a thank you. I was a 16 year old maniac and this guy with years of competitive experience went out of his way to help out a newer player in a rough spot. I gotta thank all the players from the NY/NJ/PA area who set a good example for us young punks. You guys showed us how to play hard on the field and be even better players off the field.
The golden era of paintball. The variety in equipment. What an awesome movie; I must have watched it a million times on DVD. It watches like a skate video/CKY style movie. All action, in your face, antics and chaos with punk music blasting. Derder was the shit 🤘
I watched this for the first time. I missed playing so bad. 15+ years out the game! So bought my dream gun I couldn’t affford back then. Shocker nxt! Time to make it 🌧
2004 was the last year I played paintball. I just picked up a Bob Long 2k2 Timmy and Im hoping back onto the field soon to show these new kids whats up.
crazy how when you look at videos back in the day no matter what sport it was aggressive and entertaining now everything seems to boring everyone cries. love the video
I think 1997 is when things started to change. That's when we started coming out of the woods and faster guns became a bigger advantage. Then in 2002, the race for speed really took off and there were two Xball exhibitions. 2003 is when the leagues split and we had the NPPL 7-man and Xball came to the masses.
Man you're lucky getting to see paintball progress how it has all these years. Kinda wish I could of played during those time, but I was only about 5 when this video came out.
One guy was using a cocker at the LA Open... God, I MISS THOSE DAYS!!! You could never, and would never, try that today in NXL, etc. I miss overshooting the hell outta people with my dark angel. Talk about nostalgia...
Man, we were so different back in the day. I love how the sport has evolved it's so much more clean and strategic now. We were friggin donkeys with an itchy trigger finger back then. Man, it was fun
We played Cup in 2004 and NPPL in 2005. I was in 7th grade, already playing for 4 years at that point lol. I wish someone would have told me to keep taking it seriously throughout high school. Things just turned more recreational around 2007 and by 2010 I was only playing on occasion. Would've loved to have made it a career.
Ahh I remember the good ole days early 90s trying to run my autococker reliably! Just watched a video about Marcus from predators in the uk what a leg he was!
I had no idea PSP/X-Ball was so common - I had pretty much all NPPL in the DC area, so this's news to me. A handful of collegiate teams did PSP/NPPL here and there, but not nearly as much as these games show.
We all a bunch of old shits now. I got to play with alot of these guys... fuck ill go back to 16 again please.... raymond james stadium holds great memories
Empire doesn't even make clothes anymore, damn times have changed. there used to only be 3 choices for everything but guns. Profilers, flex, or i3s. Halo b or eggy. Empire, dye, or jt clothes. Lol HK was still just a bunch of 13 yo kids on the internet now they seem to be the biggest brand in paintball
Peep my playlists, entire soundtrack available for this DVD. Also, shoutout to Gen 2.5 Intimidators. Still have my 2004 Empire Intimidator w/ Tadao infamous board and Angry Halo. When 30 bps was the standard!
Angels, Timmys, OG Matrix, Eggys, Impulses, Halos, E-Cockers, big crowds. Geez, the sport has severely downgraded... now days there's no variety of setups pretty much is either a Planet E vs Deluxe (occasionally Dye). Teams take forever to push or make crazy moves. Is a snoozefest :/.
I am so glad I was able to play during this era. The aggression on the field but the love off the field is something magical that the sport has lost.

That's how it was though. We hated each other just as much as we loved each other. Paintball was unique in that sense.
The 10 pound gats aren’t missed as much. 😂
U couldn't be more accurate his Era was truly golden age of pb
I started I. 2003.
Wow this takes me back.
Also, kids these days don’t know what real overshooting is haha
Is it bad that I miss the 15 bps ramping and overshooting/getting overshot off the field if you didn't get off fast enough?
#metoo
the paintball movement
Bob Long Intimidator!!!!!
Hahaha dude paintball is so low T compared to these days
Neither do refs 😂

spent my early 20´s in this trench during paintball 2000-2004, best years of my life

I was referring more to the whole lawsuit situation with smart parts and all that. I think that was around 2004 if i can remember correctly.
@@pbnation 2003/4 hands down...that timmy and matrix came out and people starting ramping 17bps...im holding on for dear life with my Tippman

@@pbnation ok shithead we're not on PBN
Definitely brings back good memories. Timmy's were the shit back then.
Break beam eyes since 2002 and lighter than the competition. I don't know why Angels were so popular.
I miss this era of paintball
I broke so many necks on those egg hoppers 🤣
Back when the eggs were “top of the line.”
Same
I feel like the feed necks on the Halos were worse. I never broke my Evo2 feed neck but the lid was trash and broke.
@@Veritas1992 Eggs fed fast and didn't jam. They were just made of brittle shit plastic.
Man, looks like paintball had some crazy goons back in the day. This shit looks awesome.
So. Many. Goons.
Funny how you say "back in the day" for a video that's only 14-15yrs old. Back in the "pack in the day" paintball for me is like mid 90s
Man you're lucky getting to see paintball progress how it has all these years. Kinda wish I could of played during those time, but I was only about 5 when this video came out.
It was crazy violent and fun. Felt similar to skateboarding culture
When I started playing in 2002/2003 it was very much bunched in with skateboarding. My paintball field was literally at a skatepark
One guy was using a cocker at the LA Open... God, I MISS THOSE DAYS!!! You could never, and would never, try that today in NXL, etc. I miss overshooting the hell outta people with my dark angel. Talk about nostalgia...
I still have my autococker. Favorite gun I've ever owned
Classic. Thank you for releasing this
Everyone is swinging around. Love to watch this stuff man
watched this tonight after not seeing it for years....I have the DVD somewhere...might need to search for my DERDER movies and PUSH
Jeez man. These days & times of paintball were golden. The guns & gear were so solid
Man, we were so different back in the day. I love how the sport has evolved it's so much more clean and strategic now. We were friggin donkeys with an itchy trigger finger back then. Man, it was fun
Ahh yes the good days, man there was some good times....
@8:43 Haha! Having trouble with the Warp Feed on that E-Mag. What a surprise.
Still have this dvd on my shelf my favorite of them all hands down

I literally did the same exact thing same time frame and now I'm looking to get back in cause the guns are finally reliable
They knew how to party lol DerDer baby
BRO R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T
Wish they still played this hard
Also the rules are now much more strict. If you do a run through now, you better be clean the whole time you are shooting your gun.
PbNation Paintball what do you mean by “clean”
T. E. No hits on you what so ever
Jekrispy ahhhhh I see

Can’t help but notice how Halo B’s and Revys still have a place in 2022 but eggs have gone the way of the dodo bird.
I’m actually looking for one, that was my fav hopper
Purely because of aethetics. If someone redesigned the appearance and used better, flexible composite but used the same motor, it'd be a hit.
why cant I find anything about the Rolemodels online? I've been searching for that first song for hours/days. (its called lets go die)
Couldn’t find anything either.

god paintball was so much better back then
Fun seeing the icons and elders of the sport today running around as dumb kids on the field.
Old school paintball movies an videos for me is roughly around mid 90s. I still got some of my old paintball magazines I got when I was a teenager.
Came to see the old Angel Teams. Was not dissapointed
Back when paintball was played the way it was supposed to be! Uncapped center flag
