I still have my copy! Man, I remember telling my friends "It's like a skate video but for paintball!!" I used to play this DVD on repeat while cruising the PbNation forums, or paddle modding my Evolution Eggy loader LOL, and tinkering with my Eblade Oracle. We grew up in the glory days boys!
y'all are cute and all, but tournament ball will always be an arms race. only the latest and greatest. all of us rec ballers have a choice what to shoot. tourney guys dont.

It’s crazy how I can be nostalgic for something I was too young at the time to experience. Makes me sad seeing how paintball has changed and corporatized. Even when I started you had so many options for markers, loaders, whatever. Now it just seems like if you’re broke you get an Axe and a Z2. You got some money to blow you get a PE gun and a Spire and HK everything else. I miss the paintball that I grew up with.
Having grown up watching paintball and attending world cups since I was 4, there's definitely a noticeable difference over the years. I'd say what happened to paintball is just an example of what happened to "extreme" or action sports in general. Skateboarding, BMX, paintball, and all the others were so amazingly diverse back in the days with such unique identities, but as the bigger companies started winning out, they began taking over. Now they just don't have that same "soul" to them. I will say though that in some ways it can be good for the sport, because now people have more reliable guns and have a lower barrier to competitive entry because of things like the old invert/empire mini's and cheaper gear, but it is hard to imagine what it used to be too. Maybe one day as trends ebb and flow, paintball will make a larger comeback. At least at my local fields I've noticed some more young people (I'm still pretty young but I'm talking teenagers) forming teams and competing in SPL and such.
I started in 2002 and stopped around 2011. It was an awesome time to play paintball. HK Army was almost an underground thing. I still got my fake Gucci headband and DerDer Sandana. Just starting to get back into it.
I started playing in the 90s but the early 00s were truly the absolute pinnacle of paintball. It was such a badasss time. New markers were dropping all the time and there was so much innovation and it seemed like no matter where you were, there was a paintball field and shop. I miss how big paintball was during this decade. If only it could be that big again. Yeah im old now, but I swear some people just dont know the fun they are missing!!
Fucking Oneside Red! FUCK YES! i almost teared up just now. I got a flash back to the first time i went paintballing, opening the car door and hearing a speedball game start. I almost shit myself. Those days are the days id give anything to just relive. God damn. The memories. The feels. Listening to Rufio over the p.a. while everyone got down. Fuck man. Golden days.
I don't understand why the pros don't at least play uncapped semi. I understand divisionals but it legitimately only complicates the game in a way that makes it even more entertaining so why not just let the pros still shoot as fast as humanly possible?
@@SORBETVMuncapped semi on the current field layouts would make it far easier to lock up zones and stifle movement. And breakouts would be an absolute bloodbath. I say bump the teams up to 7man, increase the field size a bit, and allow semi up to 15bps.
one thing I dont miss about these days is the heavy duty spinning after they got shot... so many of these a guy will get bunkerd and have five hits on his back, then spin and try to sneak in a trade. penelties the way they are now have really helped on that.
My god I loved the golden era of paint ball. My best gun ended up being a level 10 micro mag error running at 1200 psi. I had a vl evolution and the thing ran at 1200 rpm
Did we all really suck this bad? Man the game is so much more athletic now. Lots of great players in this video, but now, they'd be considered pretty scrubby
Just started getting back into it and I've noticed this too. Thought something was up with my barrel match, nope, the balls just suck terribly in every box. What the hell happened
Anyone else remember uncapped ramping then it got capped at 18 a second lol Virtue cheater boards for the dm4 where the first shot was uncapped full auto then every shot after that was psp so you could have killer lanes off the break and if the ref checked your gun it was legal. Man insane days. It really was the wild west
Does paintball still exist? Not even kidding. I absolutely loved playing early 2000's, and it seems like within the last 5 years the sport has all but disappeared. No idea where to get my tank hydro'd or play casual games. My G6R lies dormant and lonely.
Ah, when the Halo was absolutely groundbreaking and the BPS wars of the 00's. 7 man shooting 12 and xball with ramping and 15bps. When men were men and sheep were nervous!

you haven't really played paintball until you've had a loader crack its neck on a dive
i had the eggy on my Eblade Outkast, aka Nightkast. i wanted an oracle so badly lol Good times!

So many good memories playing in the early 2000s. It's amazing to see how the game has and hasn't evolved in 20 years.
i agree.. and electric guns ruined it. I have one I never use and I still play with either a pump, or my automag.
Pump or Magfed best way to go. I still play upto this day.
