Im 74 years of age and first went to Switzerland 60 years ago with my secondary school to Engelberg. We stayed in the local youth hostel which was like a five star hotel. Being a boy from the east end of Glasgow, living in a tenement flat, Switzerland was like being in Heaven. I have been many times since to a hotel on lake Brienz, the Seehotel Terrasse. A stunningly beautiful location a stone's throw from the lake. Unfortunately because of inflation 😕 I cannot quite afford to pay as it is now so expensive just now. God willing I will go back sometime. God bless Switzerland 🇨🇭❤️
It would not be a Next Level Adventure without a hiccup or two. Come on Paddy we love to see that confused look on your face. Loving this series and can't wait for more.
LOL! 😂 Sorry to laugh. What an adventure you’ve had with that train. Good thing they let you back in the train a second time so you can go back up there to hike and shared the beautiful view with us. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!
Maybe your train failure was meant to happen, at least whoever watches this will know what to expect and not make the same mistake as you, so that's a win for them. Thankyou for taking us on this journey Paddy, I keep crying happy tears because Switzerland truely is stunning. Keep safe and keep taking us with you.
Paddy, the past two videos were absolutely top-notch ! SO well filmed, edited & presented - your talents just keep improving all the time ! Way to go ! Have fun & I'll keep watching ! 🙏😃
Thank you for sharig! We done field research in previous 20th century traveling all the time, were a great advantureious ending up at another beautiful province. Enjoying traveling while life is still young. BTW, nice sunglasses.
Man, Switzerland is around the corner from the Netherlands and was never on the list. That gorge especially catapulted Switzerland right up my to visit list. Great Epi Paddy!
“This is research. This is called field research, ok.” 😂 I love it! It’s nice to see that even seasoned travelers make mistakes. Because it is frustrating when it happens to you. And the only thing to do is exactly what you did here… make the best of it and not let it ruin your day. ❤
This was so great Paddy. No worries whatsoever about the train misstep. Hard to have known that travel restriction. That gorge is just spectacular and I am sure there was no way to fully appreciate it without walking the path along side you. Beautiful! Thanks form bringing me along. Its always great my friend.
Hi Paddy, i sit back & enjoying your gorgeous travel in my fav. region in my home country Lol ! You are fortunated, - now in July, we have a heatwave with havy thunderstorms ! Thanks alot for sharing your amazing adventure & wowing footages & drone flights !❤🙏🤩Happy you did the train ride up again, superb view - next time you will go to the top of Rothorn✌
Hiya Paddy. Epic drone footage. There is no way you could have known about the train. You're not an idiot. There was not enough information given. Thank you for taking us along. The views everywhere are so beautiful. Almost unreal. Spectacular. I love your honesty. And I love how you do your videos. I envy you. To solo travel and take off on your own is epic and brave. Anyone being negative needs to grow up. You got to be loaded to live here. The gorge is stunning. The colour of the water is beautiful. Definitely a magical place. Great information. Thank you for taking us along. Beautiful video. I can not wait to share these. And I can not wait for the next one. Have a wonderful week.
Wow! Incrediibly beautiful! Misadventures are sometimes the best adventures; yes, life isn't perfect. It's all about going with the flow and making the best of it (as you do!). Thank you for continuing to share your amazing adventrues!
Spectacular scenery...experienced something similar in Austria when I was 11 years old. Being in the alps is something that never leaves you...I remember the electrical storms in the evening, lightening revealing the beauty of the alps for a split second at a time. Breathtaking. Another fantastic video Paddy, lovec the gorge at the end 😁👍
Love your honesty! It happens! Bonus for us watching - Switzerland is next level stunning for sure - I’ll never forget it - the magic is that most of it you have to go after! It’s not all just laid out. Some incredible spots to visit next time - cheers 🍻
Thanks for taking us up the mountain twice! We had a good laugh. Other TH-camrs would have covered up their mistake, but you make it part of your journey. I am sure that going all the way up would have been even more expensive. We were there a year ago and it the price was just too expensive for the three of us.
Thanks Paddy I had a great time with you today and loved all of it. Had a chuckle at hearing from the Thai man 😊 made my head spin for a second before you said about the Thai people visiting 😂
The light and shadow on the walls of the gorge brought a tear to my eye. The color of the water flowing through was the most beautiful contrast. I could stay there forever. What a blessing this has been to view. Many thanks Mr. Paddy!!🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hi Paddy,i was in interlaken on my own when i was just 16 durning a summer working in Swizterland and tried to expalin to family how beautiful it was when i got back to Ireland. 30 yrs later im going back with my hubby in September.just discovered your channel and its brillant , really helpful and you make me laugh sitting on the train minding ur seat having your lunch..its like something i would do.😂
Paddy, I dont know why some travel show has not picked you up as a presenter. Your a natural. Even with the very sad experience you had at Brienz on the Cog Railway you still love your work and that somes across in bucket loads. Im so used of American Vlogers SCREAMING there message across its nice to hear your calm voice expressing your every experience. As a retired Camera Man I know how much time you spend editing your vids. EDITING....EDITING... !!!. I have never seen anyone else show that beautiful Gorge outside of Brienz and its one place my wife and I will certainly not miss visiting. Thank you for discovering that and passing on your experience. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. Max. Australia.
So pleased you made this mistake…. We are going to be in brienz in early may and planned to go on the train to the top and hike…. New plans now 😀 looks amazing and can’t wait to go. Your Vlogs have been amazing to watch and so helpful. Thank you!
Loving the series so far, Switzerland is such a special place. I've ridden/driven down from the UK on a motorbike and in a campervan, the passes are incredible to ride and the views just breathtaking. Your videos are making me want to go back again!
I laughed hard when the train went back down 😅😅😅😅.. but atleast we've learned a lesson 😊😊😊 keep making great videos.. this is why I like your videos because it always happen when you travel alone and that's what always happened to me too 😅😅😅
New sub! Your Switzerland video series are amazing- well executed, great pace, just bingeing on this series because im planning for a trip to Switzerland next May! Top notch work!
Paddy you are such a classic. You make me laugh. I am the same traveler but I often have mishaps, get lost and miss what I had actually planned for. Always real xxxx
i was not sure if i would like this european series since i live in europe, but it turned out to be awsome so far. keep going, and really good work on the mediawork!!

I've just got back from a motorcycle trip to Switzerland, we stayed at innertkerchen, which is close to Meiringen. We got a tourist card from our hotel which gives many discounts to attractions and free travel on the local tram. It's always good to do a little research. There's a Sherlock Holmes museum also in meiringen.

Great video with incredible views, is interlaken cold in summer? I'll be there the last week of this month July, and wondering if to bring winter warm clothes or light summer one? Thank you and keep the great work❤
You should also plan your hikes. The hike you show on the map is no easy walk if you are afraid of heights. The ridge is small and steep in some places.
