    Supposedly, they started saving episodes of his "Hot Seat" show the moment it became nationally Syndicated, and that only the episodes recorded prior to that and only aired locally were taped over by KDOC.

      I seriously doubt KDOC saved any of the Hotseat Hotlines. Whatever survives is probably just people like me who happened to have a few on a VHS tape from years ago.

      I was at Wally's memorial when he passed away and the program director from KDOC told me they threw away a lot of the tapes when the station moved. It's too bad. I would've loved to see more of these old Hotline shows.

    Interesting segment. That first question demonstrates that even though Wally was a Conservative, he had his limits.

    So when exactly did the show become nationally Syndicated? I know the Blase Bonpane incident was on November 2, 1983, and aired three days later.

      I don't think it ever did. Morton Downey did for a year before he faked an attack in a bathroom.
