@Gamer4FunYt most definitely. There is a software called Bazzite that you can download and install on any Windows handheld. Apparently, it makes a difference because it is like a Steam OS experience. So, I thought a handheld might be a better fit for me. What do you guys recommend? Should I go for the LCD version or the OLED version of the Steam Deck? Looking forward to your suggestions!

The screen offers vibrant colors, deeper blacks, and overall better image quality, which enhances the gaming experience, especially for portable use. However, the lcd version is still a great option if you want to save some money and are okay with slightly less screen quality. Both versions deliver the same powerful gaming performance.

While the ROG Ally X offers better performance, it’s pricier, and Steam Deck’s software is more polished for gaming. Good question! I think it’s definitely worth it if you’re okay with tweaking settings to get smooth gameplay. The Steam Deck is about flexibility being able to run most games on the go. Plus, the experience of playing on the OLED screen makes it even more immersive.
I don't know anyone personally that has one but I want to get one, I've had people in groups say not to trying one if I'm primarily use to consoles. Is it that much harder than a PS5 to use? Could I just play the games without going crazy into the settings and still have a good experience? I figure I can learn about the graphics settings and framerate wattage stuff but Idk if I can learn how to do launchers lol. What do you think I should do? Try one or just stick to what I know? I know I suck at knowing anything PC related lol, its always been questionable to me but once the Steam Deck came out now im like trying to see how much I could learn about them. GTA IV how hard is it to run on Steam Deck? Thanks! Great video btw.
thanks for watching! The Steam Deck is definitely more flexible than a traditional console like the PS5, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Out of the box, you can enjoy many games in the Steam library without needing to tweak settings much, as Steam’s default configurations are optimized for the device. However, games from other launchers like Epic Games can sometimes be a bit trickier. They often require extra steps or specific settings to get them running smoothly on the Deck. If you’re mainly planning to play games from Steam, you’ll have a much easier and seamless experience. That said, if you’re okay with learning a bit over time, the Deck can be an amazing platform. I’d recommend giving it a shot..you might find it easier than you expect, and there are tons of tutorials online if you ever need help!
Thanks for letting me know! It's does seem like an awesome device for sure, I will get one and see over time I'll try to learn as much as possible. I'd love to be able to play all of the AAA games on the go so that would be great. Thanks for getting back to me! Great video once again, it's given me hope that I could use one.
While it’s true that some games might not work, the Steam Deck is constantly improving its compatibility through updates. Many games are verified or playable, and with a bit of tweaking, even unsupported ones can sometimes run well. It’s all about experimenting to get the best experience!
@@faizrizqi5200 When docked, the Steam Deck can output up to 4K at 60Hz to an external display, but most games are optimized to run at 1080p for better performance.
@@royandescartes The Steam Deck has excellent integration with emulators like Dolphin, which might explain why it’s working smoothly for you there. For the ROG Ally, have you tried configuring the controls through Steam or using a third-party tool like DS4Windows or Joy2Key? They might help map the controls correctly.
Steam Deck is my favorite gaming device of all-time. Is it outdated? Kinda. Antiquated is the word. Zen 2 + RDNA 2 sounded great back in the summer of 2021 when competitors had their PC handhelds with the same SoC at 2-3x more in price. But Steam Deck is turning 3 in Feb and the PC world moves fast. Still, I would never get an Asus or Lenovo. I have only bad experiences with Asus. My gf had a bad experience with Lenovo. Not to say I’m saying the ROG Ally X or Legion Go sucks. Understand, Asus and Lenovo are mainly hardware sellers. They don’t have services like Steam. They don’t make games. Asus and Lenovo are only trying to sell as much hardware as possible. Their upgrade intervals are far shorter. Did you know the Legion Go 2 is coming out soon? It’s going to have the Z2 Extreme. People with an Ally X or Legion Go with Z1 Extreme will no longer have the best internal hardware on a handheld. Didn’t the Legion Go come out 14 months ago? Imagine how quickly Asus and Lenovo will forget about their first generation owners? Why would they focus on them when the newest one comes out every 18 months? I think if a Steam Deck 2 came out this year after the first one came out in Feb 2022 and the OLED came out in Nov 2023, current owners would get pissed. Imagine if the 3DS came out in 2007 instead? DS owners would be pissed. But then there will always be people who want more power. They’re the type of gamers that will sell their Ally or Legion Go every 2 years to have the best model possible. Considering I’m more a casual gamer than some hardcore enthusiast who is obsessed having the latest and greatest, I don’t mind if the Steam Deck won’t be able to play FF7 VII Rebirth or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. My backlog is already quite long. So I’m supposed to spend $700 on a ROG Ally X that will be surpassed by the Legion Go 2 soon because I want to play 1 or 2 games that can’t be played on the Deck? I’m going to ignore the other 95% games I could play? The current Nintendo Switch lasted 8 years and with no mid-cycle upgrade. No Pro model. The OLED in 2021 was not really an upgrade internally. Still using the custom Tegra X1 chip from 2015. The advantages to consoles is they have longer intervals for upgrading and better optimization. While PCs have shorter intervals for upgrading, stronger hardware, but sometimes worse optimization thanks to defragmentation (varying specs and fast upgrade cycles). A Switch or Deck will have graphics that will look good those first 2-3 years only to start showing it’s age by the 4th or 5th years. While if you want an Ally or Legion Go, a newer model for them comes out every 2-3 years. Consoles: 5-8 years PC: 2-3 years I think consoles are more cost-efficient especially if you’re a casual gamer. They’re cheaper than PCs and you don’t have to worry about upgrading them every few years. I only got the base PS4 and never had the intention getting the Pro. I only have a 26” Bravia TV from 2009 at 720p that I got for $20 from OfferUp two months ago, so a PS4 slim will suffice for that TV. Most consoles today are built around TV / screen technology. I read a lot of subs on Reddit that has people owning the Deck + OG Ally with Z1E / X or Deck + Legion Go, and they say they always go back using the Deck most of the time. That their Legion Go sucks at optimization or that Windows sucks on any handheld. That they’re only getting 20 fps which is a shock to them as they thought that the Asus or Lenovo handheld is way more powerful than the Deck? Steam Deck is good enough for most gamers. I’ve read Lenovo will be announcing multiple SKUs. They have a Legion Go S with Steam OS but the same SoC as the Deck. I wonder how much that will cost? If it’s priced at a similar price, it would make a great alternative and you can at least try it out in a store. I would be more interested in an Ally or Legion Go with the Z2 Extreme and Steam OS. There’s still a chance I will return to a Sony handheld whenever that ever comes out. While I love the Deck, even with a green checkmark ✅, the game might still have graphical glitches or crash. I saw it in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. A console-style handheld is more stable. A PC handheld will never be. Then you have games originally made for Windows that Proton has to make compatible for Steam OS. Too many roadblocks for stability. I love the Deck, but if a Sony PS5 portable ever comes out, I will be sticking to that platform in the long haul. I’m already part of that ecosystem thanks to the PS4 and Vita. I bet most people will end up switching to the Sony handheld even if a Deck 2 comes out because Steam has a library more in line with an Xbox/PC. Sony will likely stop giving their exclusives to PC once their handheld is out. I will still keep my Deck around for emulation and older games from the 7th and 8th gens. The touchpads are perfect for Wii emulation that involves a pointer. At least with a Deck and all PC handhelds, you never needed to hack/mod/jailbreak it to run emulators. Similar to Android, it’s very open to retro gaming emulation. I figure Sony will have a touch panel as well on their handheld considering their controllers and the Vita has them. Currently Playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon (Deck) Shenmue (Deck) Sonic Superstars (Deck) Final Fantasy VII (Switch Lite) God of War 2018 (PS4) I absolutely love Like A Dragon! It basically works like a visual novel. There’s more watching than there is playing. But I love the story and characters. I laugh out loud in every chapter I’ve seen and I’m currently on Chapter 4. Each chapter takes about 2 hours. It’s like if Shenmue was Rated R, more gangster, and can drop more f-bombs for comedic effect. Some of the story elements are all quite interesting and can apply to a lot of people’s own lives in real life. Stuff about loyalty, honor, betrayal, parenting, prostitution, treating women, and looking for jobs after hitting rock bottom. I play (or watch) it every day for an hour or two since I got it last week and enjoy watching this underdog story unfold. I will get Infinite Wealth after I finish Yakuza: LaD but most likely get that for my PS4. I’m hearing the sequel is superior as it plays much better but the file is quite big. And while I love visiting Hawaii, I do prefer Japan’s setting in a video game. Been to both places, but I would rather be in Japan than Hawaii in a video game. Like a Dragon 1 looking like a top 5 favorite game of all-time. Definitely better than Shenmue III. Maybe my favorite on the Steam Deck over FF7 Remake and Uncharted 4. Thanks to Lady Decade for recommending Like A Dragon. Ichiban’s tone is all over place. From naive to wacky to over-the-top energy. Then to a deeper sarcastic voice. I bought an Asus ROG Ally because I fell for the whole "Play all your games" marketing. Turns out the Steam Deck can play all the games I play now anyway due to advancements in Proton, and I've installed Bazzite on my Asus ROG Ally now too (which is basically the Steam Deck's OS) because the Asus ROG Ally has an awful stock user experience with Windows 11. So I basically paid double the price of a Steam Deck for what is now a Steam Deck with much worse battery life and slightly better performance 🤡
im owning steam deck oled after sell rog ally, my steam deck is window 10 install. My honest, doesn't get any huge probem like what rog ally did(lost bluetooth/wifi out of no where, analog and bumper/trigger is bad with me), yes the rog ally z1e/rog ally X is a powerful device but has a lot of problem also i don't believe in their warranty support
Sold my ROG Ally for a Steam Deck OLED. I'm done with all the hassles of Windows. The Steam Deck is a Switch on steroids-a great handheld without all the complications.
This is highly dependent on what type of games you want to play, I personally bought my steam deck for emulators and 2d games and light retro 3d games. So I really don't need that much power for my games, and the ergonomic and oled display and the kind of retro console vibe steam deck has is the win for me. But if you are on to high graphice and new 3d games, go for asus rog Ally or other powerful Windows handled devices. Just look at nintendo Switch, for example. This is a very weak device in terms of power, but you can see this device on every gamer house, and this is a number one handled consoles in the world. Power is not everything 😁
Thanks for subscribing, man! Great question! The Steam Deck does have some advantages over the Legion Go when it comes to software, especially with SteamOS being tailored for gaming. However, you’re correct that it struggles with some games that have anti-cheat systems like Valorant or Destiny 2, as they require Windows. If those games are important to you, the Legion Go might be a better choice since it runs Windows.
no complications with a linux system? most games are not native to linux. and steam deck uses a linux distribution as the base system and proton to run its games.
Valve’s support has been pretty solid for most users, but hopefully, you won’t need RMA if you decide to get one. The Steam Deck is worth it for the experience!
I give Steam Deck its flowers as it is a game changer in terms of handheld devices. But did he just say "smooth and lag free experience"? bruh it could barely play newer titles as well as some PS3 games on RPCS3. It should be "smooth and lag free for indie games and older AAA titles", My Ally X can play any games i throw at it even the newer titles. And the talk about bloatware is overblown. Some people use at as a desktop computer not just a gaming handheld. It so happens it can play Black Ops 6 (something the Steam Deck cannot) on your hand. If you like the Deck good for you but that device is aging and newer powerful handhelds are coming out. I am a fan of the Deck and I cannot wait for the Deck 2 but I am being real and if u ask me the Steam Deck is an outdated device.
Thanks for sharing, the Steam Deck 2 will definitely be exciting to see, and it’s great to hear you’re also a fan of the Deck despite its limitations. Thanks again for your perspective!”

Is it worth it even if you have to adjust the settings on games to less than the max settings? (just asking honestly)
@brandonvealey4960 welcome,I'm happy to help!
Bro there are way too many games you can’t even play on the steam deck .. unfortunately 😔
While it’s true that some games might not work, the Steam Deck is constantly improving its compatibility through updates. Many games are verified or playable, and with a bit of tweaking, even unsupported ones can sometimes run well. It’s all about experimenting to get the best experience!
where do u buy it off, i keep getting not supported region
Cant wait to get one soon

when it is docked, what is the resolution on the screen or tv? is it capable to handle 1080p or still 800p?
@@faizrizqi5200 When docked, the Steam Deck can output up to 4K at 60Hz to an external display, but most games are optimized to run at 1080p for better performance.
i cant get my ROG Ally to map out the controls on the Dolphin emulator. its so annoying. on my Deck, it works with no issues at all.
You have drivers on console too
Steam Deck is my favorite gaming device of all-time.
Consoles: 5-8 years
PC: 2-3 years
I think consoles are more cost-efficient especially if you’re a casual gamer.
Currently Playing
Yakuza: Like A Dragon (Deck)
Shenmue (Deck)
Sonic Superstars (Deck)
Final Fantasy VII (Switch Lite)
God of War 2018 (PS4)
I absolutely love Like A Dragon!
So many fun and weird Japanese anime quirkiness that has me laughing….

Uncharted and Like a Dragon are bangers for a gaming franchise. I wasn’t sure at first with Uncharted being a third-person shooter that I would enjoy it. I dislike most shooting games. But I ended up enjoying every Uncharted game except the first one which I’m still currently on Ch. 14. I do prefer for Nathan Drake’s story to end. I don’t need Sony to keep milking this IP forever and ever like they do with Spidey.
hey what game is that on 1:54 - 1:58?
hi, that is Kingdom Two Crowns. I find it super addictive!
It's good game I play a year ago on laptop
Someday I'll own one of these
I bought an Asus ROG Ally because I fell for the whole "Play all your games" marketing.
On my way to buy one right now. Retiring the Switch to Nintendo exclusives only. I'm so done with its lack of power.
im owning steam deck oled after sell rog ally, my steam deck is window 10 install.
I’m glad you found the Steam Deck a better fit for your needs!
I agree, it really depends on what you want to play!
waiting for steamdeck 2
Fair enough! Hopefully, Valve brings some exciting upgrades with the next version. In the meantime, the current Steam Deck is still a powerhouse!
new sub man so the real question is it better then a legion go because of the software ??? I now it can't play any anticheats games im I right??
Thanks for subscribing, man! Great question! The Steam Deck does have some advantages over the Legion Go when it comes to software, especially with SteamOS being tailored for gaming. However, you’re correct that it struggles with some games that have anti-cheat systems like Valorant or Destiny 2, as they require Windows. If those games are important to you, the Legion Go might be a better choice since it runs Windows.
I’ll wait for steam deck 2.
That's a great idea!
2 weeks i use this console-like , overall its good device, nice os , i hope valve keep push update steam os
no complications with a linux system?
most games are not native to linux. and steam deck uses a linux distribution as the base system and proton to run its games.
Proton does a great job making most games run well.
Wish I had one but I'm afraid to RMA it if it fails somehow ( battery dies or something )
Valve’s support has been pretty solid for most users, but hopefully, you won’t need RMA if you decide to get one. The Steam Deck is worth it for the experience!
@Gamer4FunYt I know that but unfortunately I live in Brazil so I'm still afraid to get it haha maybe I'll do it eventually.

I bought the legion go first, it's collecting dust. I play my OLED deck daily. I had the same frustration with windows on the go, put off by it.
The Steam Deck’s software really does make a big difference, I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
i’ll take the legion go lol, it’s better then nothing!
worst part of steam deck is having your girlfriend steal it to play every game her mac couldn’t run
would be nice if we could get any bad things about it or things that some might not like and some might etc
You are 100% right. I have the same experience I can’t play AAA games just have to wait for the deck 2. Don’t get me wrong I still love this deck oled MK1 wrong great on the deck.

The only thing is the battery, it sucks so much it runs out very quickly 😥 but I guess to compansate that it has super fast charger 🤷
Glad you’re loving the Legion Go! The battery life does seem like a downside, but it’s great that the fast charger helps balance things out.
@@Gamer4FunYtThanks 🙏 I've been enjoying it so far, just got it not long ago It's just like a portable PC, the battery sucks but it doesn't bother me at all I don't really play that much anyway, just when I'm home and have some free time....Have an amazing one.
