A bit of a mixture mate but yes quite a lot of grassy pasture on that ride. Especially one of the new bits I hadn't done before. It was ok as it was running dry but wouldn't fancy some of those fields much outside of summer.

Its well off the beaten track mate. Yet only 10 mins off the M6. Can really escape the crowds here

Great video and nice day , sorry if I have already asked you this but have you been up cross fell yet , I’m looking at doing it , you can approach it from garrigill but it’s possibly little less difficult from great dun fell road side up and across the pennine way , it must be possible as there are segments made for both ways it’s just it’s so high I would only try it may-September as it’s so cold up there , not to mention how boggy it could be , looks about 2 miles from dun fell to cross fell

Hi mate, no I've never done Cross Fell. I don't think there is a bridleway directly linking the summit of Great Dun Fell and Cross Fell looking at a map. If I do it I would prob do it as a big loop up Great Dun the descending Trout Beck then climbing back up and over Cross Fell . I think you are right about conditions. One to do in a dry summer period
