The Ram has come a long way over the past decade! The Rebel is sweet and a great offering. The Raptor is probably still my favorite off road truck but still, the Ram is an awesome option. For real though, make the passenger seat power adjustable lol. Thanks for letting me be a part of the video! 👍 27:45 was great 😅
It was nice meeting you Nolan!
David Wagner same to you!
I purchased a new '18 Raptor. Had it 3 months and traded it due to quality issues, and I simply couldn't get over the V6 duck farting exhaust sound. Now I drive a '19 Rebel and couldn't be happier. Awesome V8 sound/performance, very quiet, unmatched interior and ride. Great review, and while no vehicle is perfect, the new Ram leaves other trucks in the dust...Raptor included.
Steven P I hope so just bought one
It’s feels familiar after driving the 2014 Ram I traded in but out classes it in every way
Only had a few hours but in love
Steven P I call bullshit on this. Traded a 18 Raptor that you had for 3 months. How many miles where on it? And what where the problems? And ya I’m a Ford guy, but I do no that Ram does make a good truck, especially that Rebel, nice looking truck!
Yep, sure did and it had just over 3k miles. Tranny issues (hard shifting) that prompted Ford to offer a replacement tranny, no thanks. Also had 1/2 my dash taken apart for rattles. Raptor was in the shop more than I would like to admit, but I still liked it for what it was. Ford makes a good truck and I am not brand loyal. However, the current Ram has the best interior, a tried and true American V8 with great sound and power, and bar none the best ride of any 1/2 pickup on the road in my humble opinion. If Ford would put the 6.2L back in the Raptor, refine the 10 speed auto, and work on quality control issues, I would revisit the truck again. Unfortunately, it appears Ford is sold on the V6 TT for an unforeseeable future.
Steven P I hate ecoboost motors too, I learned the hard way years ago. In 2011 I bought a new F150 3.5L and it was junk! Now have a 2014 5.0L and I love it. I will be buying a new truck in a couple years and as long as Ford still offers that amazing 5.0L I will stay with them. And that’s sucks about your truck man. I hope they gave you your money back. Yours is the first time I’ve heard about someone having trouble with that new 10 speed.
Aint no way a ram rebel beating a raptor
This is the first video I've seen with good off-roading footage, loved watching this video! I just bought a 2018 ram rebel, a week before the quarantines started happening, so I haven't had a chance to take it off roading yet.
I was just about to slam this review when you said Ram gave you the truck to test. But you kept it fair n balance. You gave us the good n the bad. Most of the guys who get products from manufacturers do not do that. Very good honest review.
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial You are welcome keep up the good work. I see big things in your future.... Bless'up'fo'yo'self
Honestly just wanted to see more of that FJ. Now that thing is a beast. Do a video on it
Really good looking truck. I really liked the interior 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
This is the perfect sweet spot for most people. 20k-30k cheaper than a raptor.
This truck was never intended to compete with the Raptor.
Forrest's Auto Reviews pretty significant price difference too.
That's the job of the TRX.
With the Rebel 12 package u get a power adjustable passenger seat !! Btw this truck dint have etorque system but awesome video tho
Best looking grille ram has.
Thanks for the great content. Are you going to review the 2019 cx5 turbo?
did you say "functional vents" on the hood? better look further underneath the hood.
Yup they are functional
Can't hold a candle to a Raptor, but I hate to admit Ram surpassed GM this year
Yeah, I don't know why people keep comparing this to the Raptor. Even Ram admits the Rebel was never meant to play in the Raptors game, it was offered as an alternative to the FX4 and the TRD Pro. These are the trucks people to should be doing side by side comparos with.
Comparing apples to oranges.
I’ll take the hemi v8 over the v6 with the fake exhaust sounds in the cabin any day.
@In Korea I wish it came in 3.0 ecodiesel. I just can't justify the 6.4l hemi as a daily driver.
@@drbobvs It actually says a lot about the Rebel that people are comparing it with the Raptor, even thought it was never meant to compete.
It's a BEAST!!
Apparently, when you have nothing to say, everything is a "beast"...
@@buckhorncortez you're a BEAST!
I'm not sure why the Rebel doesn't come with the 4WD Auto mode that all the other models do. It's the mode I use all the time in rain and light snow. Seems silly not to offer it in their "off Road" model.
Do you think the cloth in the middle of those seats will eventually tare and make the truck look cheap . Cause I could see someone with house keys in their back pocket sliding all over those and I imagine that mesh will eventually catch on something .
Who even carries their house keys in their back pocket in 2018?
Tare?
Might as well go big and get a power wagon!
Great review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great review but that truck doesn't have the e torque system.
I love Dodge Ram.
Nice review man!
About those steps... It is bizzare that they are chrome. Even more bizarre is that, from other videos/pic I've seen, they are not always chrome! Maybe it's some sort of mistake where they belong on the other ram 1500 trims? Definitely something that should be looked into!
Ram does have great sound for a truck.👍
19:55 need some flaps to protect that paint!
Just needs a Rambox
Steps must be an option
Mine looks to be outfitted similarly to yours - air suspension and didn’t have step bars
Your test truck definitely does not have the etorque. There would have been a switch to disable it by the shift dial and a large silver device between the engine and battery.
WTF people stop putting Raptor in your Ram Rebel title you damn followers. Does anyone at this point feel they have to watch the video because it says Raptor in a Rebel video. The new Rebel is sweet but it doesn't hold a candle to the Raptor in the performance aspects.
Jay P wait till the trx
Jovanny Flores then it will make sense. I hope the TRX shapes up nicely I want one.
Not to mention it's not supposed to compete with the raptor lol
Going up the hill did you activate the rear locker ?
The seats are not leather there vinyl you can get leather though. You didnt show the 2 storage compartments under the back floor mat.
The name Ram or Silverado shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence containing the name Raptor...There is no Raptor Equal...The Ram is a beautiful truck but the Silverado Outperforms it off roading...TFL just did a Test also at MOAB. As for the sound, if you're looking for sound instead of performance, then don't buy a Raptor....Thanx for the Video
Can you please do a 2019 Kia cerato video
The stock hemi is 410 lbs torque the e-torque makes it 500 ft\lbs
It doesn't. The "extra" torque actually just happens nearly instantly from the small electric motors rather than happening at higher rpms.
It's not actually extra torque, it's just available earlier so it will help with off the line acceleration slightly and theoretically helps with mileage because it allows for a near seamless stop/start process.
Wow 60 thousand that same truck goes for 52 thousand on Anchorage Alaska
Like the truck but not the eTorque system.
Eye candy !!!
Tires didn’t clear mud well
It looks nice, its capable but Chrysler has a lot of reliability issues. Lets come back in 3 years and see if it proves reliable.
The PW would be a better comparison to the Raptor but even then they're in two different classes, not much really compares to the Raptor when it comes to desert running and of course the PW would rape the Raptor on the rocks.Good review though.
Never say I'm not sure during a reveiw
My truck came with chrome steps, I made the mistake of taking them off-roading and they both got scratced. I am now looking for a decent pair of rock sliders with integrated step that doesn't eat too much clearance.
Lmfao nah the Raptor is still WAY better, but this is cute
Biggest Baddest Ram? I love the Rebel but the biggest and baddest title currently belongs to the Power Wagon.
Haha is that the hulan mall covered parking??
Damn getting some at 20:55
All RAM 1500s ha we 395 / 410 , do little more research. Good video 👍🏻
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial
Just got me a new one on Friday, super excited about it 👍🏻
Not all 1500s have those specs
@@shotokanslammer1
V6 doesn't count !!
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial But you kept mentioning that the Rebel you were driving had the e-torque system. From what I saw that Rebel didn't have it. Neither does mine.
Sorry bud but the raptor isina class of its own
Yeah, I don't know why people keep comparing this to the Raptor. Even Ram admits the Rebel was never meant to play in the Raptors game, it was offered as an alternative to the FX4 and the TRD Pro. These are the trucks people to should be doing side by side comparos with.
I like the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss more.
@FiatDuster I prefer the Honda Ridgeline
eTorqe? With the eTorque, when you come to a stop, the engine swaps to ONE cylinder. Usually (right next to the axle lock button), it at least has the option to turn that option off. I didn't see that on yours. I could be wrong, but I don't think you had the eTorque version. No disrespect extended.
1st, the engine shuts off, no cylinders are firing. 2nd, you are correct, he did not have the etorque. I imagine that is why he didn't actually show the engine compartment, he knew it wasnt etorque and spoke as if it was.
@@stealthsky5004 No cylinders? I'm no expert. That's just what the dealership told me when I bought My Rebel. That it goes down to one cylinder. I was told that the F150 is the only one that shuts completely off to zero cylinders.
Right. There was definitely no etorque on this truck. There would have been a switch to turn it off on the shift console. Ram has put a stop order on the off road packages and the etorque combo since December so that’s disconcerting.
And the hemi can only do 4 or 8 cylinders. The only truck that can do 1 cylinder is Chevy but they have disabled that since it shook too much. Now it can go down to two, though. The dealer was mistaken, unfortunately.
Did no one else notice he lied about it being the etorque? This is the standard hemi 5.7.
Yes you are right, this truck no etorque. But he may not lied might just be confused what etorque is

Sorry the best most off road capable ram right now is the power wagon
The rapor is miles ahead
Wait till the trx and TR rebel come out 😁😁 bye bye raptor
Hood vents NOT FUNCTIONAL. How does this guy have 27k followers?
Not even close to a Raptor!
Anodized* metal
You obviously didn't lock the rear and have it in low climbing that hill!! Total Noob move!
Too much misinformation in this video
The biggest baddest ram that you can currently buy?? Not even close buddy! No credibility!
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial That's true, you didn't say 1500...
