I would love to play other otome games other than from Otomate… I really hope more companies take a chance in localizing games! Hopefully Pqube will pick some interesting titles :)
Otomate is the one that gets localized most, though I have no idea how that's decided. I do wish we could get some with more gameplay like the first ones you mention~
I feel like it’s because there’s an Idea Factory “International” which is a game dev/publisher that otomate branches from! As for Aksys, why they always go for Otomate games, I have no clue 🤔 PQube did localise Bustafellows which is a game by eXtend though, so we have hope with some non-otomate ones from PQube!
@pokemonmusicluver29 localisation is quite complex and a lot of factors go into it that's worth a video in itself. Factors can include: companies not wanting to take the financial risk cause they think it won't make enough money, licensing costs (ie. male voice actors in japan are known to be expensive), whether it can fit in the schedules of both the japanese IP holder and localisation companies, content and how it could be perceived (especially if its controversial like in Rejet games), the sheer volume of text, or a simple lack of interest in the western market. We likely won't ever get specifics as to why game X from developer Y won't come over, cause it would break NDAs and jeopardise relationships between japanese IP holders and localisers so they have to keep quiet. If you make friends in the games industry, they may be willing to tell you off the record though :)

Which is exactly why we needed to support it if we wanted more otome games in the future. The companies wanted to see if they gained any profit from bringing these games over. I'm just glad to see that more people are into them than I expected 😌

Rejet is my favourite as well because they make a lot of fantasy content (which is my favourite genre) and I have played a lot of their games just because of that jajaja, hey why don't you make a video talking about other developers less known? I would like to know other games less famous.
Rejet games are so good! I love that they almost always seem to include a yandere character 😂 And that’s a really good idea. I’m currently going through my backlog making the “otome games with” series, so maybe not developers, but I’ll pick out some of the lesser known games and talk about it! It may be a little in the future as I’m already making a whole bunch of other games but I’ll get to it 😁🫶
OMG I had no idea La Corda D’oro was a game!?! 😭 It was probably one of the first shoujo anime I ever watched as a kid when it would show on cable,, unlocked memory Love all this background info on otome games so thankies !! 🥰 I’m so intrigued by Diabolik Lovers and Dance with Devils but I’m not sure where I could play them??
Yeah! I didn’t know it was an otome game until a few years ago either 😯 The gameplay is really fun and it’s nice to see Hinata end up with different people 🙂 I’m not sure about how you can play those in English, I have heard of people who made patches to play some of them, but I’d need to dig around to learn about it!

Somewhere I read that the Angelique Series basically marks the origin of all otome games??!!😳 I had no idea until recently, so I tried playing the demo. And while I really enjoyed it, I wasn't sure whether I should purchase the full version. Man, it's SO expensive 😳 And not sure if all of the stats and kingdom management is something I really wanna bother with 😹 I also agree that it feels refreshing to switch from Otomate to a different developer from time to time haha Thank you for the great video!!
