    Anxiously awaiting your full review if this piece. A lot of questions hanging out there for many potential buyers, including me. Seat wobble, stretch for those of us in the 6'1" height range, etc. Subbed for the upcoming review.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The seat wobble is there, but in use isn't that noticeable IMO. Stretch is fine using standard handles but if you start daisy chaining the PRIME ones, I could see an issue.

  • @Z28L98

    So I have the selectorsized Prime Prodigy Rack and I got lucky when I ordered mine as they where running a promotion. The rack was $5500 and that included the J cups, spotter arms, weight pegs, landmine, lat pull down seat and low row foot plate. But in addition to all that stuff I did order all the handles and a few other attachments so it did still drive up the price. For me it was money well spent because I also have a basement gym, but it's only about 175 square feet and I wanted something that offered a ton of variety. I absolutely love it and would recommend Prime products to anyone who can afford them with their budget. Can't wait for your review Brandon.

  • @dasdos002

    Titan has come a long way. I would definitely agree with you a couple years ago about Titan. But man, they are producing quality stuff now. Their prices are also creeping up too!

    • @bmstylee
      @bmstylee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's the issue. Horrible reputation and well deserved makes it hard to get people to buy their stuff. Especially when the competitors make nicer gear at similar prices. Rule of thumb on titan. If it's something simple they're OK. If engineering is needed look elsewhere.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Their lat pull down is prob their best piece but it keeps going up in price. They still have a lot of issues and shady business practices which make it a no for me.

    • @steveunholzer2056
      @steveunholzer2056 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their quality is still in the toilet as evidenced by many posts.... I'll never own Titan anything, I'll save and buy quality every single time

    • @dasdos002
      @dasdos002 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with a lot being said here. I truly do. I definitely agree with shady business practices and bad reputation.
      In December of 2020, I bought a short Titan squat stand. I was really impressed with the powder coating and quality. It cost me $250 and it’s now at $320. If I bought the same stand even in December of 2019, I’m 99% sure the quality would of been shit. And I’m sure the packaging too lol.
      I also bought their EZ rackable curl bar at the same time for $100. It’s now going for $120. Beautiful curl bar. I wasn’t going to go with rogue because I couldn’t justify the money for a piece of equipment I use like 2-4x a month. The knurling on it is great. IMO the best curl bar at that price point.
      About 8 months ago, I purchased the X-3 sandwich J-hooks. The quality of the J-hooks are OK but you can tell they are knock offs. They get the job done so I can’t complain. They recently (like this month) came out with T-3 sandwich J-hooks which I decided to purchase. The quality of the j-hooks are almost on par with rogue’s. I still can’t get over how good they are. It’s kind of ridiculous. I’m talking about a matter of less than a year and the quality has drastically changed. I would of gone with rogue but rogue doesn’t make 2x3” sandwich j-hooks. Their infinity line up doesn’t even have plastic lining through the j-hook. That was a tough call for me because I’m such a rogue fanboy that I want to support them as much as possible. And I’m pretty sure I’m done buying from Titan (although I’m eyeing their strongman wheelbarrow) but it does blow my mind how far they have come.
      I did see someone’s X-3 recently (in a FB video) and it looked really well built. I’m not saying to buy Titan. All I’m saying is the quality has increased dramatically.

    Brandon, I am on the verge of ordering one of these! I'd love your thoughts on getting a workout on it and how much variety it offers in terms of exercises you can do with it. I have a super small setup. Basically a power rack, barbell with weights, simple adjustable bench, and a dumbbell setup. I think this would add a lot of versatility for a single piece of equipment. I can't think of another single piece that offers a larger variety of exercises.

    I checked this out, the Sorinex, and the Rogue versions as well and really wanted to pull the trigger but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what I would do with a single stack with a single pulley. Facepulls? That’s the only functionality I could see for myself vs just a lat pull/low row machine. Granted this one has the 1:1 lat pull at the top, which in my opinion makes it more justifiable for the cost than the Sorinex or Rogue version. Still though, would be legit if the adjustable pulley had arms, even if they were the short ones like the Hoist MI5 and the Titan copycat that just launched.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I really just wanted a dedicated lat pull/low row that was selectorized and could be customized some.

    • @airgordo4

      @@BasementBrandon Looks like you picked the best one too. I think if I was in the market this would be the one I would get also. I know it costs a bit more but I couldn't see myself buying a Rogue/Sorinex single functional column that didn't have the 1:1 lat pull included like this does, or buying their dedicated lat pulldowns when the Titan is half the cost. This was pretty much the only premium direction to go IMO. Sick piece in all white too.

They don't have a lot of communication and you'll prob have to be the one reaching out to ask them stuff. It's also annoying they charge a 4-5% credit card fee (few hundred bucks). Lastly I just hate how they won't do away with the prime green, but I've made videos on how you can black it out.

    Hey Brandon, how confident are you in the cable on this thing? Just eyeballing, it looks about half the thickness of the cable on the Life Fitness lat pull/low row at my local gym.
    Of course, I don't know the ratings of each cable or if the standards are different for the home vs. commercial markets, but since Prime is selling it as a commercial piece of equipment, I don't understand why there would be such a big difference in cable size.
    I figured I would ask you since you probably regularly pull the entire stack :-)

    Prime shipping coasts are outrageous. I’m in NJ next to PA and they quoted me today for the same package as Brandon has with the shipping being $660 more than what it was for Brandon and I live closer. I am unable to make a pickup. Also there’s a 10 week wait as of today. I know they make a good machine but their freight charges is just crazy. If someone lives on the west coast or in the middle of the country than be prepared to pay $1000 probably for shipping , I’m going on what they want to ship just to NJ.

    Very helpful video about the setup! In the Garage Gym Lab review video of this cable tower, I recall Adam talking about how the lat pulldown seat has some slight movement when in use, which is somewhat concerning especially for the price point. If applicable, I’d appreciate your take on this and any possible fixes for the issue. I look forward to the next video! thanks!

      Some trade offs I think. The Rogue is 108" so take that into consideration. The stack is only 300lbs vs 350lbs (a weight pin would fix this). The Prime has an adjustable cable column where the Rogue does not. The Rogue also ships fully assembled and you'll have to provide your own forklift to take delivery.

    Can you tell me how much wall space it takes up when in the corner? It does not look like it is much, which is great for my small gym. Expensive? Yes, but it is less than selling my Rogue rack, buying a Rep rack and an Ares or side mounted single stack. I can't fit a large functional trainer like a Rep Fitness FT 5000 in my gym. At 6'2", the FT 3000 is not an option and still would be a challenge to fit in the gym.
