In the past, I used a Putter with a 34" shaft and noticed that I couldn't practice my putting for very long until my back started aching. So I got a Putter fitting and now have a Putter with a 35" shaft and hey presto no aching back👍
@@banditbaker1675 that changes things, I’m 5,7 and was thinking the same length but that is 5 inches more grip length for me. Do you by chance know your wrist to floor length?

Hi Larry, As usual truly valuable information. If I have a putter that I really like can I just put an extension in the butt to adjust to proper length? I know the additional length will change the lie but am not sure if that should be a concern. Thanks as always!
So I’m 6’5 and I’ve been looking into buying a putter and I noticed that I sunk more shots with a 33 in than a 35 in, it felt like my eyes could like up over the ball better. Is this something that makes sense or is it just artificial greens playing tricks on me?
In the video you used 33-35 inch putters never considered a longer putter and a more up-right stance. As I have aged I like a longer putter then adjust my grip to get in the correct position.
Lie angle is less important because physics tells us it has less influence than loft. However, it’s still critical and people including pro’s are not going to putt as consistent as Stricker or Seve. Without question lie angle is so important in modern putter with modern weighting. Poor lie angle will change both spin and direction of you putt. Robot testing confirms as does simple physics - lie angle is VERY important - just less than loft. Cheers

Wow. You covered everything except how to choose the right putter length.
I switched to split grip 3 years ago and lowered my putts/round by 3. So, now I choose longer putters. 35 inch minimum.
I actually tried out separating my hands today and was quite surprised with how well it worked…

What length putter would you recommend?
It has to do with the length of your arms to the floor rather than height
How tall is Michael Geiger?
Loft is #1, so why not mention advice on that as well?

lie angle is a huge deal? if you want to find the centre of the putter face then it's massive.
