    go to college for four years or more to be a gardener

      Why? 4 years of experience is worth 10x more than college

      Or go to college for 4 years to be a professional horticulturist. You can choose to set the bar as low or as high as you like.

      @@pablo9364this is me. I wasn’t born into a greenhouse family so I have to earn some credentials to break into the field. I will never work in the jaw dropping gardens I dream of until I have a credential that says I should be able to. I think we all understand the evils of capitalism but there is merit to earning the knowledge that high level horticulture courses come with. Plant physiology and pathology. Pest and weed management. Soil sciences. I don’t kid myself when I prune my Goeppertia that I am a master gardener.
