If the Parent assumed control of the SS on July 1, shouldn't the retained earnings be pro-rated?
The question said that on 1/6 Gayle acquired Russell's equity.Then why are taking 100% share of consolidation rather than 50%(ie 6/12 months)?
Because it's a SOFP rather than a P&L. A P&L would be pro rata'd as you describe.
