    broomstick as a hand or balancing rod is a hobbyist best friend. Doing a 69 GTO and ran across the same fitment issues with after market parts.

    You should install the trunk weatherstripping before you start bending the filler panel because it will change.
    Hope this helps and great videos

      Glenn, thank you so much. I did not realize that until my buddy actually told me the same thing. Because I am doing new panels you need to install the weather stripping. Now I need to make another video. LOL. All the best my friend

      I'm going to try to get all of the metal work done before the winter. That way I can order my motor and install that before I start doing the body work. Meantime I got a lot of interior stuff to do.

    New to car restoration so this might seem like a dumb question. I have a 72 lemans and thenleft side of my trunk lid sits flush but the right side sits about an inch high. I cant see anything bent or anything along those lines. Where should i look?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look at where the adjustment linkage is on the trunk. That is the straight bar that goes from the right side to the left. Maybe it is in a different position. That will give you a different height. Thanks for commenting all the best

    Is there a way to adjust doors without removing them? I have a 65 GTO its scraping the front Q panel just a little

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should have adjustment on your hinges, to pull the door back a little bit. once you loosen up the bolts. you need to be careful it doesn't drop and chip your paint

    Great video. Lots of good info. I'm mocking up my Mustang and my trunk is doing the opposite what your trunk did. The middle 18" or so is sitting high where yours was sitting low. I pushed down on it, put a jack under the car with a long piece of wood to push the filler panel between the trunk lid and rear glass up to make it even. Nothing has worked. It's sitting probably about 3/16" high. Any ideas?

      @classicrewind2715  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I worked on a 70 Mustang. The front panel was screwed down you can actually raise it up with some shims. But I am not sure of the trunk. I suggest you put tape on your trunk lid to protect it. If it's painted , then a piece of cloth or a bunch fold it up and put a piece of wood on top of where you needed to go down and hit it with a rubber mallet. You might try to loosen up your hinged bolts just a little before you hit it with your mallet. Let me know if this helps. All the best

      @@classicrewind2715 It's not painted. I'm mocking it up before I get it painted but I'll tell you what, that worked like a charm!
      I went light with the mallet blows at first because I wasn't sure what was going to happen but man it turned out really good. Not perfectly level but almost, and much much better than what it was. And I didn't notice any diverse effects elsewhere on the panel from doing that.
      Thank you for the helpful information. You saved my rear on this one because I was out of ideas and I was just going to live with it. Thanks again!!!

      You could always consider shipping it up here, my buddy is getting his car painted down in Florida. They're doing all the Bodywork and paint there, assembling the power plant in the car when they're done painting it. Then shipping it back up to Jersey
