Keep in mind that these principles are effective only within genuine, natural relationships. You can't force someone to genuinely care for another person; it has to come from the heart." it has to be authentic.
Lovely! Lots of wisdom put concisely and clearly, delivered with Fr. Pine's great sense of humor. 😊 Thanks for putting this on TH-cam for the rest of us!
When I'm sick I ask my wife for soup and sit in bed. When Fr. Pine is sick he gives a fully captivating talk full of potentially life changing advice on the topic of friendship. 😅
I like this talk, learned from it. BUT! Fr.Pine did express the expression of interest, why I do also acknowledge to be very important to a friendship, but what happens when your interest are not so common, when your not particularly funny or “fun” to hang out with? Personally, it has been difficult for me to enter into a relationship with someone. How can I enitiate a true friendship based on love, and not just the material interests of the other?
You just have to give your best from your heart and mind, freely. The more you make your free time available to others, the more there's chance of someone else out there finding you. First make Jesus your friend and lord, then live an active life. 😊
3:55 This just demonstrates how inundated the Church is in the mental health movement. Two cardiologists, Meyer Friedman and Ray Rosenman contributed the type A type B hypothesis that competitive people i.e. type A are more likely to develop coronary heart disease. I disagree. Many people are type B

9:23 constantly denying myself out of love for the other is partly why I was emotionally abused by exes, bosses and priests...

Cloistered religious how do you define that if it’s not shared?
🤍
You do puzzles, to complete the whole picture.
Remember the whole is greater than the sun of its parts.
