My 93 has the 16 inch lattice wheels, don’t have any issues. Same colour too. Be interesting to watch this, good luck from Leighton Buzzard in the U.K.!
I had an early 3.6man XJS a few years back. bought in sight unseen flew to Melbourne and drove it make to Brisbane up through Goondiwindi. Didnt miss a beat! Give those seats a good drink of Gliptone leather softener and the conditioner afterwards. They will appreciate a good drink!
Looking good brett, nice import a dealership near me about 20 mile away sell only Japanese imports and they are always really low mileage and they sell anything they can get from jaguar's vans full range but they are expensive, should be a great car with the new wood and other jobs done enjoy
Fascinating. Hong Kong is a small place, so taken together with the good condition of the seats and the lack of wear on the steering wheel, these factors may indicate that the exceptionally low mileage is genuine. In which case you've got a stonkingly good bargain.
We get alot of japanese imported cars over here in the uk.my uncle has got one.a 2006 jaguar s type 2.5.its done 25000 kilometres from new,so only around17000 miles or so i guess.it is like brand new underneath, had it all properly wax protected tho as its his everyday car.he got fed up with buying good looking but rusted out uk cars.look forward to you doing more on the xjs.👍
Some would say the 3.6 is the xjs to have , doing away with the v12 complexities. The 3.6 in there makes it a good daily driver, and if worse comes to worse , there's as always a 4.2 engine somewhere to put in
I lived in HK and not many places to drive to- I suspect mileage is genuine. 3.6 engine is pretty tough and pretty simple- check the valve clearances as that's a weak spot. HK cars rust like you wouldn't believe and so this looks amazing considering but it's probably been through the paint shop at least once. HK Chinese repaint cars like most people wash them and are masters at using bondo.
Looks to be a great base for a project as you say not too much wrong, hope it stays that way for you pal, love those lattice wheels pepperpots are as good also, good luck with her buddy looking forward to following your progress 👍
Nice new project… I think those lattice wheels drop straight on to an XJ without problems ? I can just see her sorted out and cruising with “Hong Kong money” by Dr Feelgood coming through the stereo !
Brett mate, I have to ask why would you go for a 3.6? Is it to complete a collection of XJS’s? I just bought one, but a V12. Ok, Maybe a 4.2 but a 3.6! Just kidding. Each to his own. I would be keen to meet up. I would appreciate some authoritative analysis of my new Jag. I’m in Sydney BTW but open to a trip to the central coast. 😊
My first Jag was a '90 Signal red 3.6 with a TWR kit on it. Looked stunning on the outside but underneath the skin the thing was as rotten as a pear, it peed power steering fluid and might as well have been a convertible when it rained, driver side door rubber was shot. Had the big TWR wheels on it which also rubbed on full lock. Loved that thing though. And watching this video has made me want another one. Looks like you got the makings of a really nice car there. I'm new to the channel and I can't wait to watch this project.
I have 16 inch lattice wheels, they really do make a difference to the looks and drive.
A smart looking addition to the channel
Thanks Paul
3.6 a good motor...see how the brakes work tho
looks like a good project
Thks Warren
decent old car pretty collour, with good interiors i wish they were cheap here in Portugal...
Thanks Rodrigo for watching. Would love to get to Portugal 🇵🇹 one day!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice car
Well done & great video thanks. Many HK cars spend most of their lives in dry underground car parks.
Very true

You could be right! All the damage is basically from humidity

Thanks Ivan The digger I deep believe the kms on the xjs are close to genuine. Drives like new!
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Love your XJ-S. Why do pepperpot rims have so many holes? So they sink faster. 😀
Yes they do sink fast. Found one underwater once!

Original paint Frank except for a few panel, bonnet, lh door, Rh guard have been painted. Humidity has caused the most damage

Neat Brett..
I know I'm probably gonna get shot down in this comments section, but I personally think the xjs is a better looking car that an E-type.
I have never been a super e type fan, probably because I have been able to afford one😩

Интересно, надёжные ли эти моторы? 🤔
Yes, the AJ6 is pretty much bulletproof if we'll maintained
