I have had my P230 since 1986. Of all the guns I am permitted to carry (CCW in California) it my favorite and most reliable. It has never bit me, never jambed or stove piped. Modern day .380 self defense cartridges make this a most potent and deadly weapon of choice. It will eat any kind of .380 and will not fail. I carry one in the tube......8 rounds.
This was one of My bucket list guns and since I live in Kalifornia and it’s off roster thought I’d NEVER get it, ladyluck struck and I found one on consignment private transfer at a little shop can’t tell You How Happy I was!!! One of My Favorites the 230SL 😁
When you go to reassemble this, be sure that the transfer bar, on the left of the frame, is not out of alignment. If it is and you put the slide over it and seat the slide, you will find 1) the hammer drop doesn't drop the hammer 2) you can't pull the slide either way (once it is forward). In short, you have jambnified it.
Owning a P230SL since it was originally released among my collection of .380s which include Astra Constable I and II, Walther PPK and PP, and a Bersa Firestorm, the 230 is the standout. Its fit and finish are superb, accurate shooter, fires and feeds any ammo without fail it has earned my respect. I would advise anyone considering a .380 purchase to get this pistol! Although pricey it is well worth the money spent. You will not be disappointed. With the release of new self defense ammo new life has been breathed into the .380 making it once again a great choice for self protection role
I got 15 years ago mod. 232 SL in 32 acp,"handmade" by special order ,for double price. The workers at the factory sauer in germany worked on it during 6 months aftet official working time. Finally,l got " swiss watch" in the pistol shape. Later, l decided once again, and the same " handmade ", manually fitted 232 SL, but 380 acp. Once again- " swiss watch " pistol.
~I bought my P230 new and have owned it for decades. I still have it and I often still carry it. ~I carry mine with the full double action pull ina kangaroo pouch. ~I'm thinking of sending it off for a nice Robar Finish as my "Love You" gift to my favorite .380 Pistol.
I Have a Blue Steel Sig Sauer P230 .380 Double Action Automatic Hand Gun Great Gun.Bought in 2001 For Personal Protection When Selling ADT Home and Business Security Systems.
Given Sig's recent foray into increased capacity 1" backup/subcompact pistols with the P365, it would be really cool to see that 10 round magazine adapted to the P232 and perhaps even used in a resurrected 9mm version of the gun along the lines of the HK P7.
Not a fan of the.380 however those are absolutely beautiful guns & if they were still available that stainless model is sexy enough to make it my first.380! Great video 2improper but after subbing & watching so many of your videos I expect nothing less from you! Thumbs up brother
I have the stainless P230. It's now large for a .380 (bigger then my PPKs) and I keep thinking about trading it for yet another compact 9mm and then I handle it for a few minutes............and it goes back in the safe.
@@CitizenCarry They do feel very good in the hand and buying mine second hand I didn't pay the "SIG hype" price. It's staying in the collection as I'll never be able to replace it at the money I have in it now. I hope you get one.
I have a blue 230, really accurate, and I do love that pistol. A couple of comments. For me, with the standard grips, the slide tends to bite the web of my hand. I put a Hogue rubber grip on it, similar to the one on the SL, it looks like it will solve the problem, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Second, I would prefer a more conventional mag release. Interestingly its predecessor, the Sauer 38h did have a conventional mag release instead of the heel release.
The mag release is a german/swiss tradition. The Sig P 210, 220 (the swiss army p 220) and the P 230 have a heel mag release. Btw: I'm from Switzerland.
I have the SL have not use it yet because I could not find replacement springs but finally found matrix manufacturing having the complete set so now I could use it
"Reset Queens" haaaaa! You have a great grasp on the types of shooters. But......... I'll steer away from you in gas station men's rooms. Love your sense of humor
I have the 230SL. The only thing that bothers me is the mag release. It's a strange design, and the mag doesn't fall out like traditional mag releases. That said, I don't give a crap, really. For me, mine is more of a collectors item that I bought brand new in the mid-90s and the quirky design gives it character. I fired it a few months back, but it had been 15 years since I shot it. I have to say, for a .380, it is a snappy little sucker. I guess you can attribute that to its blowback design.
There are easier shooting .380s on the market (the Wather PK380 is a senior citizen's dream come true), but as NutnFancy would say, the P230/P232 is dripping with second kind of cool (like the PPKs). If you own one you just know.
Keeping those crap plastic grips on them is like dressing Margot Robbie in a burlap bag. Put some sweet wood grips on them. Nill grips would be the evening gown in this analogy but some simple Hogue wood grips would do fine as the little black dress. A sexy gun needs sexy grips.
I have a rare rare gun it’s a Sigg P2 30 with a polymer frame if anybody has any information on this could they please let me know I can’t find anything online it looks like it was a special order and I’m wondering what the value is in the collectibility of this is it’s a black polymer frame with a stainless steel slide

I really want one badly!

Rudy Kehoe Oh how cool! Yeah, that’s a lucky find! Was it all black or nickel?
Citizen Carry Channel it was the Nickel which was the Best part!!! A Huge score
Rudy Kehoe heck yeah it was! What a great gun. I’m kicking myself for not devoting my energy to getting the one in this video. Dang!

David Brodehl man, I completely agree!

Just put one of the stainless P230s on layaway. Can't wait to get it.
I love my 230SL! PEOPLE THAT DON'T LIKE A 380 DON'T KNOW WHAT BULLET PLACEMENT MEANS

I love my P232, it's a bit shorter and thinner than that. I love my P220 .45 even more.
I would LOVE the P220.....

The Triggerati Wow...I totally agree! I wonder if anyone tried to make one?
Walther came out with the CCP, which is based on the P7 design, but the execution leaves something to be desired.
Great video and what a BEAUTIFUL pistol...I want the chrome!
I've got one. OK, it's the dark one, but I've had it since new. Maybe 300 rounds through it. Thanks for the vid.

JOHN REY I appreciate that big time! Thanks John!
Love that pistol, a dream gun for me, love to have one

J P it WOULD BE so hard to part with it! I wanted that thing so bad.

Two beauties!!
Great Hand Gun
Cool video!

Collectors item.
mr2bmw I wish I could have kept one of them!
Immensely jealous.
Another great review. Almost as pretty as Walther PPKS.
Scott Mannear oh I know!!
Got one of the first 500 from Interarms in 1978. Less than 50 rounds shot and in original box and paperwork. Just polished and admired.
I have both in stainless and I prefer the Walther. It has better lines, IMO. Also, I like a decocker over the safety, not that it's a bit deal.
I Have #005 in my opinion the Nicest /most accurate 380 Ever made but of course I'm biased!

Well, that must be the only one on the planet. My black P230 has a black anodized alloy frame.
