I'm so excited for MADK 3, it doesn't come out until January in th UK. I LOVED #DRCL, it was SO good! I'm starting 20th Century Boys in January, i'm so excited.
this year went by so fast 😭 also, totally get what you’re saying with the sound track thing, i do that too when the manga is just THAT good. i honestly can’t wait to read the rest of 20th century boys, i tried out the first vol at the library and i was locked IN, definitely gonna pick up the rest whenever i can
I’m glad the soundtrack made sense to someone 😂! 20th century is one I’ve owned for like 2 years and i finally decided to read it and i was not disappointed
Sometimes the strange stories end up being personal favorites. Shuzo Oshimi is a good example of this with series like The Flowers of Evil, which is one of the strangest stories I've read that made me put the book down and want to run a lap around my block just to process what hell happened 😂. As far as my favorite read of the year goes, it's unsurprisingly Vinland Saga. I've said all I need to say about that, but I will say the sleeper hit of the year was Call of the Night. Again, I've said all I need to say about it, but I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. A couple of series I've been reading recently are JJK volumes 1-19, Flowers of Evil 1 and 2, Blade of the Immortal omnibus 1, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Logical Witch, and I'm halfway through Monster Omnibus 1. JJK gave me a punch to the gut with what happened to my favorite sorcerer (not gonna say who for spoiler reasons, but if you want to hear more in-depth thoughts, then feel free to hit up my DMs). Flowers of Evil broke my mind multiple times. Blade of the Immortal was good, but I definitely prefer Vagabond over it. Logical Witch was a quick but melancholic read and is my second favorite arc in the series so far. Lastly, Monster is my first book by Naoki Urasawa, and I'm honestly glad there are nine omnibuses because Urasawa is COOKING with this story.
The strange ones really are the best ones 😂. Solid reads all around. I’ve also read the first volume for BOTI but i wasn’t really the biggest fan of it. The art is great but i just wasn’t feeling it.
Oh wow 20th century boys😮 the magnus opus!! Monster is that special one that started me reading manga . My tbr is now completely wrecked, I’m about to drop everything and start reading the series. All I can say is Homunculus is Wild !!
I mentioned it on some of the previous videos but most recently I have finished reading Hells Paradise, and have caught up with reading the English volumes of Under Ninja and Blue Lock. Haven't been by any of my recent reads. Really into Blue Lock now and Under Ninja is odd (like I mentioned) but looking forward to the now delayed volume 3. :') Hells Paradise was also great and I'm adding it to one of my more enjoyed manga series, maybe not top but its up there! Oh nooo, based on your Homunculus reaction I hope I don't regret buying the first two omnibuses now...I was laughing at your reaction but I'm also terrified to open my volumes. Also damn someone recommended Madk to me but now I don't know. GANTZ HYPE! I think back in High School when I read it the only arc I was kind of iffy on was the final one. Still has its highs but everything prior to that was extreme heat whereas the final arc was a bit lukewarm for me. It also gets even weirder. I actually own all of Monster and 20th Century Boys but haven't read either yet. I really should get on that. Great video once again! I had an idea for a member perk, but I totally understand if you aren't interested/think it wouldn't work for you. Some youtubers/patreon creators offer some sort of way to chat with the person they are subscribed to and I think that would definitely be a cool perk, even if it was just like one chat a month or something. ONCE again I totally understand why you may not want to do something like that or if you are too busy.
I still need to read volume 2 of Under Ninja 😂. I need to know that I’m not the only one suffering through Homunculus ( you should totally still read it😉) I’m actually afraid to finish reading Gantz because it has been such a journey that i don’t want to end. This is a very interesting member perk and i appreciate you recommending it to me. In all honesty I’m not sure how i feel about it because i really enjoy the community aspect of manga collecting. How would you feel about a member perk being a discord mod?

Ya, I had to drop Homunculus after that second omnibus and just say f*ck this sh*t, I'm out lol. However, I did enjoy MADK. Picked up and read the last volume already, so 🤷🏻♀️ sometimes I like the deranged. I think it depends on what is the context of topics presented as as well as the execution of specific content. My guilty pleasure? Would definitely have to be Killing Stalking by Koogi, hands down. Since you seem to somewhat enjoy series that are meant to be unenjoyable yet, like a slow moving car crash, you just can't look away, I say, maybe give that one a shot.

Killing stalking is a good pick. I read the first volume and loved it!
