I'm 66 years old, and I feel the same way! I could probably walk a little ways, maybe find some goodies, but then to carry my finds back to the car... probably not too good. We live vicariously through Kyle and Natalie. Lol

I live my dreams through TH-camrs, I was born a nature nut, always been drawn to ferns, horsetails and mosses, there's just something about them. This video was awesome, that first rock you cracked open with the fern is just so beautiful. I love everything you do, your adventures are never boring.

Hi Kyle, my Dad worked down the mines in Yorkshire in the North of England. When I was a kid he used to bring home huge slabs of coal straight from the coal face with the imprint of fern & tree fossils in them. One or two of them even ended up in our local museum.

    • @WILDKYLE

That's some really cool finds Kyle! I'm willing to bet y'all are collecting the Pottsville formation. That formation covered the swampy areas (where you find your ferns and calamite fossils) and also river deltas (which preserved footprints from Amphibians and Reptiles) y'all are onto some good stuff. Keep at it man I love the Carboniferous stuff especially the trackways they're really cool unique fossils.

Hi Kyle. I live in the UK, not far from Lyme Regis. Another place close by is Charmouth beach. Both good for fossil hunting. A lady you may have heard of, Mary Anning has a statue at Lyme Regis. There was also a film starring Kate Winslet about her life as a palaeontologist. Recently there was a new find of a Pliosaur skull, which David Attenborough has made a documentary about found in Dorset too.Hopefully one day you can come visit the Dorset Jurassic Coast!

Wow, amazing fossils Kyle... my 11 yr old son loves fossils and its so hard to find anything great around where we live in Ontario Canada. Traveling isnt easy either as gas is so expensive. He seen the fern fossils in your video and he wants one now lol. I'm hoping later in life he can be an archeologist or something along those lines cuz he loves his dinosaur history and fossil hunting. thank you for posting these videos with your lady I enjoy watching them and so do my kids. My 11 yr old is so jealous of your fossil finds in this video lol. All we seem to find around our area are horn coral and brackeopods... if you ever get the chance to come up to Southern Ontario Canada you should look into going to the Arkona Rock Glen close to Goderich Ontario the falls and area are loaded with them and native artifacts have been found a lot as well. If there is anyway of possibly getting a fern fossil through you for my son that would be both awesome and amazing. But if not that's cool to... we will look forward to more videos from you.

I find the the same fossils here in Belgium on mine spoil heap where I life nearby, coming from half a mile deep.
These fern woods/swamps are the reminder of what once was the super continent Pangea.
A few years ago I was with a good friend who lives in Alabama next to a pond that was once an open mining pit.
The difference between the Alabama fossils and the once I find here is the pressure they where under.
Because the once here where under bigger pressure, they are more compressed.
And I also got the impression that although you find more bark fossils, you have less foliage remains.
The nieces thing I found were big slaps of Lipidodendron spore bag, that look like bird feathers.
I don't know If you ever tested these rock formations under a good stereoscope, here you find huge amounts of minuscule spore, and the nice thing about these micro fossils, because they are so small, they are complete intact and have the most beautiful shapes.
    Anyway, good fossil hunting…

Kyle, since Natalie loves shell hunt and fossil hunt and fossil shell hunt…. YOU need to take her to the creek that you and Rockmaster went to where you found almost a whole fossilized horse. The “gynormus” fossilized welks and horse conch should be most impressive to Lady Natalie😉

How do you distinguish whether the rocks are he’s and she’s?

I wish I could come pick with you one day. And if so maybe I’ll share my local pit with you in NC where I get megalodon teeth.

Awesome video Kyle! You keep things interesting with the sheer variety of finds you seek. I don’t know if it would work well for a video format, but it would be cool to hear a rundown of some of your bucket list trips that you would one day like to do. All the best to you and Natalie in your upcoming adventures this year! Stay Wild and stay Kyle!

Glad you enjoy the variety! I love searching for so many different things. There's no way I could just do one thing forever! I love that idea for a video too. I plan on a lot more Livestream videos soon and that would be a great topic.

All the areas I've hunted plant fossils in ALA have been near Birmingham! I'm sure there's some sort of fossils to be found in your area too, I've just never been there!
