  • Alabama has some incredibly beautiful locations that also happen to have fossils! This is one of them. Beautiful scenery along with some of my favorite types of fossils to find. Plant fossils from the Carboniferous Period which was around 350 million years ago!

Just want to let you know Kyle I love your personality and how you get excited when you find something big or small, old or newer, colour or pattern. Best shows when you and Paleocris is with you, you 2 appear to have a special friendship and you both show joy for each other when you dig up something new. I’ve got my partner watching you now and we seem to talk more to each other and we are going to start rock hunting too. Just please, please always be yourself because you are so refreshing to watch. With a smile on my face I will continue watching this clip. Love your channel. Cindy

The narrow oval shaped Calamites along with ones that have ridges are the result of compression. They must have been Calamites trunks buried in a prostrate position that were squished by the pressure of the sediment on top of it.

I enjoy your adventure today it makes me want to get out and do things. Thank you Kyle and Natalie for a great adventure and look at those eyes on that snail so far above his body and what a stretch on the thing don’t you wish you could just stretch oh my God thanks for a wonderful day.❤❤❤❤❤

What you’re seeing at 19:00 in is a conglomerate. I think that it is the Pottsville Formation, which is primarily made up of sand and gravel that was deposited by braided streams. It’s essentially just lithified river rocks deposited in channels or gravel deposited along alluvial fans where a river floods its banks.

What a gorgeous area! And you guys found a ton of super cool fossils! Even better! Lol! Man those were some gorgeous calamities and the stigmaria root was just awesome! And that big old snapping turtle was amazing! He was a big boy too! That's the size you want to be careful where you are walking because he could snap your leg in two! And your friend the snail was just gorgeous! He was sooo big! And were those, a second set of eyes? Totally awesome day! And even if you hadn't found a single fossil, it would have been just an awesome day. So beautiful and cool animal friends! And fossils! Yay! Thanks for sharing Kyle, and it's always good to see Natalie with you❣️💗

Hi Kyle As always, I LOVE your videos Such amazing finds! Any idea as to why the area is flagged/marked off though?? I feel concerned about the possibility of the beautiful fossil grounds being destroyed. It could just be marking the wash for safety, but likely not? I guess I just worry (yes I do) about losing more of nature. @ 18:00 how nice and refreshing would it be to cool off in the deep spot at that waterfall in warm/hot weather! Gorgeous!!! How much longer did y'all actually stay and watch the adorable and fascinating snail off camera? I LOVED it! I loved seeing him and the snapping turtle. Nature is so amazing!
